Based upon other reviews, I was worried when my son was assigned to this school last year. However, my son was reading by Thanksgiving and was educated well enough that he was able to teach his sister some of the concepts hed learned. They have a STEAM lab which the children love. One week, they made brain hats on which they labeled and colored parts of the brain. They have recess. They always have something to tell me about what theyve learned in school. The administration and staff have been supportive and make an effort to be a proactive and transparent school. I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least.

My son loves going to school here. About to start 3rd grade and has fantastic teachers so far and is learning at a great pace.

The school is fabulous. My niece goes here and comes home everyday with a smile on her face except for Thursday. Thursdays are when she has a special area teacher named Mrs. McCord, who I believe is the librarian of the school. They do reading and language arts projects using the rescources in the library. But, my niece says this teacher is disrespectful and nasty to her and her friends. She says she yells at students IN the library and makes faces to frighten your child. Last year she attempted to stay home because she was going to see this teacher. It affects her school day and weve noticed she doesnt like to work from what weve seen on her assignments. Everything else about the school is amazing. Staff and teachers are kind and caring. Her teacher is very respectful and will listen to her ideas. Hope this problem gets fixed soon. She is in 3rd grade and loves school.

This is the place I will recommend to any parent that wants their kids success.

Fern Creek Elementary School was a great school for my education. My grades were wonderful due to me focusing in class and teachers teaching what I need to know. Kindergarten~5th were fun due to a lot of events we had and many different classmates. Although my 5th grade teacher wasn’t what I thought she would be we still had good times. Graduating from Fern Creek Elementary was my choice. Throughout 4th-5th grade there were many rough teachers me and my friends experienced. Sometimes they would get on us for something we didn’t do!! Many students called each other disrespectful names and always had rude comments about others.Now middle school is heading in a few months. I don’t think anyone at middle school will do such things the classmates and teachers did. Let’s hope next year will be a better year and won’t be as bad as this one.
