This is such a positive environment for my kids as well as my wife and I. Our kids have flourished there in all aspects. Beyond academics, they have become comfortable with themselves and natural leaders. The positive values instilled by the school have influenced their behavior in sports and part time jobs. It’s refreshing to know that each teacher and administrator truly cares about my boys and their progress to become contributors to society as servant leaders.

My son Cruz has went here for 1.5 years started when he was 3, it was his first experience with preschool and I can’t say enough wonderful things about his experience and mine as a parent. They have guided and worked alongside us to help Cruz thrive, during the good and hard seasons! Encouraging him to love Jesus and others wholeheartedly. Mrs. Schell is our hero along with the rest of those who helped him in his first year! 💙 we are into our next year and can’t wait to see what God has in store.

We absolutely could not be more thrilled with CVCS. We have only been there for a few months, but both of my kids (who wanted to go to public school) absolutely LOVE it here!!! The staff is great with the kids and make them tow the line in a loving way. None of these kids are perfect, none of us are, but the staff holds them accountable with love. I haven’t met anyone yet who has failed to model the values of CVCS and we feel blessed to partner with them in our children’s education.

My stepdaughter finally finished there. Most teachers had not posted grades in months. Wealthy school of snobby kids, so if that is your thing. No one seems to take responsibility for anything.

Cole Valley truly walks the talk! Our son did not fit well in a traditional public setting. Hes very intelligent but had a hard time engaging for full days. We moved him to Cole Valley in 5th grade. Hes entering 8th grade this year and has never been doing better in school! The culture is genuine and one that truly recognizes that each child is different, and learns in different ways. Every staff member appreciates each child for their individuality and engages with them effectively. Its a wonderful place!

A Christian school should follow the bible and seek the Lord in all things; aspire to be a beacon of light and held to a higher standard. Accountability by staff and students shouldnt even be a question! Nor should the safety of our children ever be compromised!! Sadly, Cole Valley Schools have drifted farther and farther away from the bible as an institution and closer to what man and tradition see fit at the expense of parents and children as the pawns. So much potential...yet the message doesnt match reality. Consider ALL your options when seeking a Christian education and pray heavily about your decision. Do your homework, ask questions and seek answers. This school has everything that public schools have, dont be fooled.

I have been a student at Cole Valley for the past 12 years, and I can say that each day I am reminded of what being a Christian is through the staff and students here. I absolutely love it, and if I had a choice I wouldnt go anywhere else. I have grown so much as a person through the Christ centered curriculum. I am so incredibly blessed to be sent here, my parents have made a huge sacrifice to send me, and each of my older siblings to Cole Valley. The staff members are invested in each student and loves them each individually; I have seen how much of the staff has bent backwards for students, doing everything in their power to help them. Many of the students here are extremely loving and accepting of each other. I have so many amazing Christ-centered friendships, and have been blessed to have been here for 12 years.

Love this school! Started going here in 7th grade. No one made me go to this school I had just heard so many good things about it that I wanted to give it a shot. The teachers are all very nice and care about you as a person and getting to know you on a different level. I also know everyone in my grade and even others that are older and younger than me. I have never experienced any bullying which is something that is awesome to say about this school. (Even if there ever is a problem the principals and teachers try to solve the problem as soon as they hear that there is a issue). I also love that the teachers here care very deeply about our education and learning more about Christ and what it means to be a Christian. They also care about how we act as Christians, which means learning how to not to be judgmental of others or bringing other people down. Thank you and have a good day 🙂🙂🙂

This school is life changing. I attended public schools, and charter schools but Cole Valley tops them all. I have never felt so deeply loved, and cared about than I did while attending Cole Valley. The teachers, administration and staff are truly servants of God. The education I received here was amazing, I felt so prepared for college, the “real” world and loving on others the way Jesus loves me. I would recommend anyone to Cole Valley, especially because that’s how I found out about CVCS. Each and every aspect of this school is top notch and the school is continually striving to improve, and be the best they can be. I am forever grateful for this school.

I loved every minute of going to school here. The staff were invested in me personally. The superintendent knew everyones name. It is a wonderful place to grow and learn in a Christ-focused environment. I was involved in both the athletic and music departments and though it is a small school it has a lot to offer in those areas. They also put a strong emphasis on STEM classes and really want to see their students succeed in life. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants a Christ-centered, close-knit environment for their kids to grow and learn in.

My son went to Cole Valley for preschool and part of Kindergarten. I couldn’t have put him in a more loving and caring environment. The teachers actually cared and whole heartedly loved each student and taught to each students abilities. My son is almost 6 and is reading, writing full sentences, and knows all his numbers. He’s even starting adding and subtracting. We had to move away but I still have contact with his teachers from his time here and they still genuinely care about how he’s doing. If you want a school that challenges your kids academically but has love for them like the Lord does then this is the place to put them.

All of their teaching centers on Christ and Biblical truths. The staff is generally kind and communicative. The student population are still teens with teens issues, but less of those issues center on sex and drugs. They may be more judgmental, though. I wish that werent the case.

This is a disgrace of a school and how they can call themselves a “Christian” school is beyond me. My daughter was labeled, bullied and the teachers were mean to her. My daughter was enrolled in pre-k and I got a call that I needed to come get her because she was not listening. I was livid, I pay this school money every month and they cannot control a 4 yr old? Then they were trying to label her autistic. After being notified by the vice-principal of the elementary campus, leaving work and having to go get her. I arrived and no one spoke to me. Very unprofessional. My daughters last day was yesterday, we will not recommend this school to anyone.

THIS PLACE IS BLASPHEMOUS! A lot of these 5 star reviews are from people who have worked at the school. They screw up the Bible to make kids believe anything! This place has barely punishes any kids. This place is no better than a public school. There is NO supervision. This place and the people in it break many of the commandments that God gives in the New and Old Testament. If you care about your child, DONT SEND THEM HERE.

As a past student of this school, I can say that overall this school is absolutely terrible. I could go on for hours about all the reasons not to go here, but in a summary, theres a few main things to say.First of all, the teachers rarely have any idea what theyre doing. The amount of professional, curriculum based teachers is very low, to absolutely none. I will be honest, many teachers at this school are nice, its just most lack the ability to give students a professional education. Almost more like the teachers are your friends rather than educators. Secondly, with the almost $8,000 tuition the school gets per year from each student, it seems like a private christian school could be a bit more upkept. As of last year though, my final year at CVCS, it was honestly a trash heap. Pipes are hanging from the ceilings in some classrooms, the ceilings of classes are stained from the restrooms above flooding and dripping through, and there was some sort of construction going on in the basement floor, where a significant part of the walls were torn down as well as the flooring. And some added things, its a small school, so everyone knows everyone. There has been many problems with harassment through social media as well as verbal here, and since everyone is so closely connected, its easy to target people. Even worse, during most of these problems, the staff didnt bother to take any action or attempt to find the root of the problems. I go to public school now, and while I understand that every school will have problems of its own, public school has already been a much better experience for me and I highly encourage anyone who reads this to save their money and take their kids elsewhere, this school is honestly not worth it.

We couldnt be happier that we changed schools and have our kids at CVC. The educational standards are high; students are challenged; communication is great; etcBest of all...our kids LOVE the school, staff and students!Something that has spoken volumes to us is that our kids have said that the spirit at CVC is amazing and that there is a genuine love for the Lord here. Students are not made fun of for being a Christian; instead it is a place where their faith is challenged to grow not only through academics but in their day in day out lives being encouraged to be who the Lord has designed them to be and impact the world with their God given strengths. If you have been thinking about sending your children to Cole Valley, dont think about it anymore- just do it...you will be happy you did!

I am a student at Cole Valley and here is what I have to think about the school. Many teachers have no idea what they are doing. We have a computer apps teacher who doesnt even know half of what shes teaching. Our vice principal is a high ego ex sports coach who has no idea how to run a school.I used to go to North Star Charter and let me tell you, the math at Cole Valley is incredibly behind considering how much the school costs. The teachers are all christian based which is good if you like that and all, but for people who want to focus on academics this school is not for you at all.For example, our school spent a ton of the money on building a fence to make the students feel safer rather then spending it on fixing a teachers flooded room. The school lunches costs a incredible amount of money which adds up to the even higher cost.Overall the school is a complete waste, half of the 8th graders are leaving this year anyway so there is no point in going. I hope you all understand this because this 100% what happens at school.=======================UPDATE============================One month has passed since the first part of this review and let me tell you, it has gotten worse.Lets start off with our first incident. My best friend got his geography test back from our teacher and he got the worst correction job Ive ever seen. The whole paper wasnt even graded properly and all she did was randomly mark things wrong, even though they where 100% right. We compared answers and not to our surprise. We got the same answers, mine being right and his not being right. Our second incident involves our math teacher. I was taking a math test and then the bell rang, of course I knew that the teacher would let me postpone the test til tomorrow so I asked her if I could finish the test tomorrow after school, and she said yes. I come back the next day and my freaking math teacher graded my paper and told me to fix my mistakes for only half credit.Overall this school is outrageous. With all of the random annoyances the teachers give us and the unfair treatment, I would strongly suggest not coming here.

Dear Cole Valley,Thank you. Thank you, Mr.Canfield and Mr.Seals for constantly challenging my beliefs and encouraging me to be able to defend my faith, even if it was different than your own beliefs. Your classes have prepared me for a future filled with diverse people. I developed an empathy and understanding for people whos faiths differ from my own and you have given me the gift of confidence when it comes to how I choose to live my life. I know that without your class I would be worse off. Thank you Mrs. Lee for exposing me to a world full of literature, both religious and secular pieces. You taught me to read with an open mind and have gifted me with the ability to look for the hidden meaning in everything. You love like no other and I will deeply miss the discussions we had in your class. Thank you Mrs. Sacht for caring about me as a student. You were alert to my silent cries for help and gave me the support I needed when I felt like no one else was there to hear me. Thank you Mrs. Herring, without you I would not have recognized my burning passion for women and children in crisis. You taught me the importance of standing up for those who cannot speak for themselves and knowing who weve been so we do not return to the past. Your love for history and for Jesus is invigorating and I always knew I could trust you to challenge me academically, personally, and spiritually. Thank you Mr. Berggren, you never failed to make me laugh with your endless corny jokes and your class challenged me in a way I had never been challenged before academically. I learned that some things are going to take more work to understand than others and I found in me a perseverance that I did not know I had before. I will never forget our trips to Jacksons or the way your eyes gleamed when you talked about how much you loved Jesus. You were truly a gift to me. Thank you Mrs. Porter for being vulnerable with us. Your willingness to show us the messy parts of life made me feel less alone. Your constant desire to improve and do better regardless of the past inspired me to keep pushing forward when some days I felt like I couldnt make it to the next day. Thank you Mrs. Wall for always keeping me accountable and for being someone who would bend over backwards to make sure we made it to graduation. Your work does not go unnoticed. Thank you Mrs. Jones for being the worlds classiest lady and a true model of what it means to be a woman of God. Your grace and warmth was welcoming and I never questioned your love for all of us. I miss you already! Thank you Mrs. Stevens, your class was a needed escape from life. I waited with anticipation everyday for your class. You taught me that you need to stand up for yourself when things go wrong, but you need to do it in a way that honors God. Thank you for letting me be vulnerable with you and always pushing me to do my best. You made the biggest impact on me and I will always take with me the advice you gave me. You are one amazing woman. I will consider myself blessed if I am half the woman of God that you are.My experience at Cole Valley was nothing less than a gift from God. I showed up at Cole Valley desolate, unsure of who I was, and I left with an unexplainable joy and confidence in who I am and who I am becoming. If you are wondering if Cole Valley is the place to send your child, I can say without an ounce of hesitation that Cole Valley is a wonderful school. There are challenges just with any other school, because there are people involved. There is nothing I regret about my experience at Cole Valley, except that I wont get to be there next year.Cole Valley was an amazing experience for me. I feel well equipped for my next year at college and I cannot wait to see what the future brings. Cole Valley will always hold a special place in my heart.Yours truly, T

I live across the street from the school and it becomes our problem that they dont have enough parking. Just as an outside perspective of someone who lives close to this school, they are inconsiderate of those who live near the school. There needs to be very clearly stated instruction to the family of the teams playing not to park in front of the residents homes. This is extremely frustrating because it is not our problem for the lack of parking. This issue needs to be fixed sooner than later.
