I just finished my bachelor degree from Pima. I was not working during this time to focus on school. I was so heavily told that they would have assistance for finding a job after graduating. My first big concern is that I went to school for almost 4 years and I’m in $39,000 in school debt and for my graduation I got a slide in a PowerPoint. That was it. No scheduled graduation for later on. Just no graduation at all. I later keep getting these bogus job boards that don’t even help in finding a job. They bring you to indeed where the search is medical as if students who just obtained their bachelors degree couldn’t do some simple search on their own. When I tried talking to Cindy about this she had a less than pleasant attitude.

Went for dental assistant for a few weeks, was not for me and ridiculously expensive. There are many programs I found that was a lot cheaper and even more helpful. I’m currently being sued for a payment I didn’t even know I had by them, I was at the school for two weeks & owe them 1,400, even though I was advised financial aid would take care of my payment. If you are going to enroll make sure you look at all other options, not worth the price at all & screwed me.

This is a copy of the complaint letter I sent to several agents to help me in my case... I think this sums it up best. part oneOn March 1st, I went to Pima Medical Institute to participate in the mandatory orientation for New students for the Medical Assistant program. I was a scheduled a one- hour class. This class pertained to rules of dress code and conduct for the school. It was also explained to us how the internet would work for us and how we would log into our classes to check on our grades and communicate with the school. Jenifer was hosting the class and she was talking to us about dress code. On the topic of hair, it was pointed out to me my hair needed to be “muted.”  I asked what that meant, and they said it needed to be “normal” I asked what that meant, and she was agitated, and she stated it was a color that does not stand out as it is unaccepted in the professional world.  I explained I already work in the medical professional world.  I work in private hospitals and in clinics as a private contractor. She also said my makeup would need to be muted as they only allow foundation and concealer, nothing beyond that.  At the end of the hour they held me 33 minutes after class and brought in another doctor to explain that it was their policy, not the law, and that had been in place since 1971 and was not going to change.

Worth going if youre looking for a school or wondering why Pima. Programs literally fly by and are fun. I took Phlebotomy, and the Medical Assistant program. I had Klock, and Lei Sean and both were AMAZING! If I ever needed anything even outside of class they were all there for me! You also get discounts for graduating and doing other programs as well! Its a life changer for sure and you gain experience like no other at externship. You also get a crazy amount of free food at school and site. All the starbucks you consume in a lifetime pretty much. Pima is worth every ounce of energy and penny! Just do it and dont be afraid. Youll fall in love in what to further your career in the Medical field! Made me pursue becoming a Neurologist! Pima changed my life and it can change yours as well if you let it!

I called the PMI East Valley Campus and I just wanted some information over the phone. A guy had a bad attitude because apparently, I was asking too many questions and he hunged up on me. I right back and asked for his name, which Carol stated his name was Bill. So Bill, you need to learn how to be patient especially when someone is interested in enrolling. I am no longer interested in attending PMI.

Dental clinic was a circus. I found myself to be significantly more educated on tooth extraction than the students, and Im just an average person. The instructors were not on the same page. Insurance system was down and they asked me to pay cash upfront. And my favorite part was when a student in her 4th year asked me if I was interested in replacing my wisdom tooth with a crown? Yikes ... Im scared for the dental future. At the end of the day I sat here for an hour to have a wisdom tooth pulled, they did the X-ray, poked around my teeth, cold tested it TWICE, sent me upstairs just for someone to tell me they dont do wisdom tooth extraction. Coulda told me that before you raked up $500 to bill my insurance knowing you had no intention of helping me. Selfish, narcissistic, and typical.

The instructor for the PCT program lacked experience. She wasn’t at all knowledgeable on the EKGS, the Phlebotomy, or the ER skills. She was a dialysis tech who knew much about dialysis..there was no time in the other skills though. My CNA teacher always made time for her class and was an actual RN who knew her skills and didn’t just read from the slides and show us videos..when it came to the ER skills everything was crammed we had no time to do all the skills to feel confident. I wanted to do my clinical at a dialysis facility just because I felt more confident but again, they forced me to do ER just so I’d graduate on time..when it came to getting extra help it always had to be on her time and even though I’d travel back & forth an hour to school, I’d still have to be on her schedule..she never made time to make us leave confident. The amount of money that was wasted in this program is unreal and not worth it. I wish someone would’ve told me. One time we were suppose to have a ‘last minute’ field trip to a dialysis clinic and she didn’t write the address on the board but instead the facility name and we all went to the wrong location and she left her phone at school so for someone who is not familiar with Mesa because I grew up in Peoria, I was completely lost and she got mad and almost cancelled on us after it took us over an hour to find the place. Told us we made her look bad..she all go mad at us fo not taking the time to practice the sKills but she would take the whole class to tell personal stories. 🙄 oh yea and they didn’t help me find a job either like they promised..then when I call to get a copy of my transcripts no one called me back or helped me get that without me having to travel an hour to get them. This school is a mess and I wasted so much money. Please get a better PCT instructor..

I read the last review and I just want to say I recently graduated from Pima. I was not hired at my extern site and am currently looking for a job. Anytime I need help, like this morning, they are there. I walked in, without an appointment with Career Services, to get help with a Cover Letter and even though they were busy they took the time to help me. I would recommend Pima Medical Institute to anyone who is SERIOUS about a career in the medical field. Thank you to everyone at Pima Medical Insitute-East Valley!

I attended for classes at Pima and recieved financial aid. While I attended 7 weeks of class before filing for hardship and withdrawing, I now owe thousands of dollars to them after they recieved payment from financial aid. Now they are wanting to sue for the funds after failing to communicate with me directly.

I had an excellent experience with PMI. I graduated the MAA program with honors and was so well prepared for a busy office setting, I was hired by my internship site. If you are willing to put in the work and are excited about a career in Medical Assisting, you will love PMI

Attention all Pima medical students. We were told in school that our credits would only transfer to GCU. That is not true. Be aware that not all your credits will transfer to GCU. I recently returned to GCU and was told by counselor that some of my credits would transfer when in reality, 1/2 a semester in, I found out that none of my credits were applicable to my bachelors in biology. So I will not return to this institution. I have decided to leave as soon as the semester is over (no refunds are possible) and attend a community college. I will have to start all over again.

To be honest, it’s really discouraging to see all of these poor reviews for PMI. I just have to believe that people only tend to write reviews when they’re bad, not when they’re good. I attended PMI in 2016 and I had such a successful educational journey, I was hired on during my externship, and to this day I’m still doing the work I love. People don’t understand that you’ll only get out what you put into something, so if you’re putting in half the effort, you’ll see half the results. You can’t expect advisors and teachers to do 100% of the work for you, you enrolled into school for a reason. This isn’t elementary school, you are adults. I’m speaking for myself and possibly many other Pima Medical Insititute graduates that we put in hard work and received amazing results. They offer quick programs at convenient hours of the day that fit to your needs, not many credible schools can offer that, so of course it comes at a price. PMI schedules you with advisors to set up payment plans before you even enroll into your program and none of it is “rushed”, moreso encouraged. They want to see you succeed just as much as you want to! I had an amazing instructor, hands on learning, gained a lot of experience, and soaked in everything my externship had to offer at an amazing hospital. If you’re considering Pima Medical, you can’t go wrong unless you go into it thinking everyone is just out to suck you dry. Optimism leads you to the graduation stage!

Google reviewsbrittany foustbrittany foustin the last weekThis school is a joke. The financial aid department is made up of the most under qualified himan beings they could have scraped out of the bottom of the barrel. From the beginning my gut told me they were idiots, but having never dealt with financial aid before i trusted them. Ahmed, besides being more difficult to contact than the president of the united states, never knew what was going on. First i didnt qualify, then i did. Then i was supposed to be able to have extra financial aid in 2 payments of $1500. I got one check, then when i went to collect the second one from the front desk Ahmed told me he had to take my second one back. So, i didnt end up getting the second one. Come the end of the program i went in for the exit interview where it stated that the school actually owed ME $1500 but Erika ran down stairs and grabbed a new document saying they actually didnt owe me and i didnt owe them. I got my certificate and nearly a year later i get a letter from a lawyer saying i am being sued because i owe pima $5130. So i call for 2 weeks straight trying to get in contact with ahmed. I tell him i am only available after 1pm, he calls me back around 10am. About 3 days after trying to get him again (after 2 weeks of trying) i ask to speak to erika who sends me to ahmeds voicemail because she is too incompetant to answer my questions. So i finally get ahmed some days later and i explain to him that there is no way i owe that much money. He explains its a fee that was added on after the fact. I tell him how i wouldnt have gotten my certificate if i signed saying i still owed money (you cant graduate if you owe money) and so they show their lawyer where i signed saying i do owe it. My biggest mistake is that i didnt ask for copies of the papers i signed. They tampered with my signed document because they didnt do their job correctly and get all the fees tallied up.Dont go to pima unless you want to get sued over fees that they make up after you graduate your program.
