My greatest compliment to the UUMCDC is in the staffs love of their jobs. This is a group of people who love children; their curiosity, their playfulness and their minds - each of which are nourished in each childs own developmental time. There is no push in any which direction, only a guidance in creating a safe place to play-based learning. When I first needed care for my 3 month old and returning to work - I was terrified at the business-like feel most daycares had. Then I came here. That 3 month old is now 6 years and my second child is now 4 years. Both have, and continue to be kind, curious and have a love of learning that I attribute to the teachings of these caregivers. To say I highly recommend, would be the biggest understatement of my childrens quality care.

My girlfriend worked here so this is her testimony: “I worked here for 4 years while a student at the U, not only was the center a great place to be a student worker, it was also somewhere I’d confidently send my own children. The teachers in every bungalow are amazing, kind and patient. Everything in the center is kept clean and sanitized. This center has a strong community feel and it shows in how they were able to rally together to prevent the planned closure of the center. I feel very lucky to have had the privilege to have been part of that community.

After leaving UMNCDC for one year, our family still miss the Bungalow a lot. Our daughter attended UMNCDC for one year, now after moving to California for one year, she still wishes she could go back to Bungalow. When we were there, we did know UMNCDC is great, but didnt realize how much we appreciated the facilities and wonderful teachers until we left. The daily journal was one thing I looked forward to every single day at work. Greatly appreciated the attention and time the teachers put in. We just love Bungalow and best wishes to this wonderful school!
