Overall a great school and every staff who works there, especially Dr King, truly is living their dream (helping students better their lives). Ms. Crystal keeps track of every student, which is a really good thing because it shows how committed Summit is to their students. I was referred to Summit by my brother who had completed his electrician program and is now working as an electrician. I took a different route though, I signed up for their IT program. I was excited to start. But I soon realized their IT program wasnt what i thought itd be. We learned about ITIL which the professors explained over and over again that it was highly recommended by other IT professionals that they do not teach us ITIL, yet the professors at Summit decided to do so anyways. I feel like the IT professors at Summit taught ITIL the way they thought was right, even when it was not correct. The whole IT program consisted of presentations which i understood because if an IT tech wanted to present an idea to their boss, they would need presentation skills. But I didnt think the whole program needed to be focused on presentations. Some of the IT professors werent on the same page. Needless to say, I dropped out of their IT program and started a different IT program and i learn so much better now. Summit is a great school overall. I think they need a lot (and I mean A LOT) of improvement in their IT program though.

I attended SAOIC for the healthcare program when it was available and it was a life changer for me. Soon after graduation I got a job as a CHW and was able to leave the restaurant I used to work before. The staff at Summit always works hard to ensure every student achieves their goals and gets more opportunities. Thank you Summit Academy for opening doors I never knew I could.

Im glad I chose Summit Academy. 2nd phase i worked outside getting hands on training with Mr.P. He is a great instructor. The instructors are there for you and help you succeed. Lakisha and Mathew in the Career Center are great! They helped me get my fines paid off to obtain my license back which Summit paid for. All you have to do is respect all instructors, go to school everyday and show up on time and of course do your HOMEWORK!!

The school was a building I walked past every week when I was homeless. As a first time homeless man in a new city, my thoughtswere more focused on not having people see me in the light of day,and where I would find food. I was 49 years old and way too old tothink about school again...after years of college.Nine months past and with April came Spring Orientation Day.Not only did I start and finish ( 8/2016) I did very well.Along with a 3.0 GPA (CHW) I met the most wonder group ofprofessionals and students. My classmates began my sisters. We lunched together, stressed together, and learned more in 20weeks than I thought possible. This experience gave me the confidence to return to a normal life,a normal home and the ability to use my homelessness to empowerthose who struggle as I have.I am proof, yes it is possible. Not only to begin the assent, butYES YOU CAN REACH THE SUMMIT.

First phase teachers are horrible. Dr.King isnt in touch with the problems going on with the school. Personally I passed OSHA with a 80% and I was still not given my oshea card. Spoke to dr.king about it. He said I would have it... still havent received it. It feels as if sometimes we are treated as very ignorant students.

I would not recommend anyone to attend a course at this organization. The Teachers in the Community Health Worker program are rude, disrespectful, impatient, unapproachable and just plain unprofessional especially the male teachers of the program. My point is just because you teach in the inner city ( the hood ), you dont have to act like the hood. One should led by example.

Every email they send about help or gift cards you never actually get the help your looking for , or they cheat you . It was not worth the 20 weeks
