Ive done several of these classes as fun activities at work and they are great. I love the Fear free drawing classes because I literally only need a pencil and paper to get started. Ive never really drawn anything before starting these classes and its fun to see what I can do with a little instruction.

My husband bought me an oil painting class for Christmas and it has been the best thing ever! I took a watercolor class virtually through work and had a FANTASTIC experience! The instructor, Rebecca, was very attentive and made me feel as if I was the only student in a class of 20+. The instructor was personable and kind and helped everyone in the class feel good about what they were able to produce. I learned a lot about watercolor techniques and feel confident trying more on my own now.

This place is AMAZING! My daughter, who is 4 year old, went to the Art studio NY for a camp and she LOVED it! The teachers and the staff were super nice and she came back with a stunning painting! I adore that this place nurtures the creativity of little (and big) ones and let them explore their imagination in a structured way! We cannot wait to go back!!!

Ive taken several watercolor painting classes online and the entire Art Studio team has been incredible! The past few months have been incredibly stressful for me (as they have for everyone) and the classes Ive taken with Isaac and Rebecca have easily been the highlights of every week, and something that I always look forward to. Hi, I started at the Art Studio 5 years ago and I havent left. I began with Multi-Media which I did for about 6 months before I took up Acrylics. In 2017 I began painting with oils. All the instructors are great. They have the ability to help you see, give you support and incourage you in a way that gives you the confidence to do your best. Took one of their online art classes this month. As we all know, its quite boring being locked in the house 24/7 but my wife is always telling me I should take up a hobby. Decided to try out an online art class. Interesting concept, but a little rough for a beginner as its obviously over a webcam and not in person so you cant really learn brush techniques. At least i couldnt as a beginner. Apologies, but i forgot my instructors name. He was great and very patient....but they are using zoom which is a security/unprofessional tool. During the class, we had at least two random zoom bombings, and thankfully we didnt have any little children in the class.Also, they are based out of NYC....which has obviously been hit hard. From the way he described it, hes only getting a couple hours of work per week and I wont get into details, but the struggles are real. Cant even file for true unemployment as the owner/management strings them along with an hour here and there. Sounds like they all need a good employment attorney, as it makes me sick that people are struggling in a time like this and not being taken care of!Great concept, but it really appears as if the owner/management is just looking for a quick buck since they are using zoom and cant be bothered to actually hire a professional to create a secure online environment for the CHILDREN they cater to. Id avoid from the standpoint of putting any money in a greedy owners pocket during a time like this. Fine a free class on youtube.

The Art Studio NY just hosted a fantastic acrylic paint party for us at our H&M corporate office . It was amazing!! We were able to customize our event to include peer engagement while creating master pieces. It was such a relief to have landed 3 instructors that were super professional but personable too! They nailed it. We nailed it! Id definitely recommend tapping into your artistic abilities with The Art Studio NY!

This place is owned and managed by an amazing group of people. Everyone I interacted here with are very warm, welcoming and helpful. Kristy & Michelle are awesome studio coordinators, always helped me out with everything I needed to be comfortable in the studio and work well on my painting. Jake is a great instructor who would read you well and guide you accordingly on exactly what is required for you to improve your art skills. Highly recommend to anyone who would want to have a great painting experience!

Love love love love love.i took a screen printing class with Amanda a while back and it was AWESOME. Equal parts technical as hands-on DIY. Great class for all levels and interests, and we had plenty of time to dig in and do whatever we liked. Plus we listened to 90s R&B and drank beers. Going back for my next class in a few weeks - cant wait!

We brought our high school students during our fine arts trip to NYC from DC area, so they could have a memorable learning experience, and we were not disappointed. Meera worked with us for months helping with planning and looking into variety of options to accommodate our large group (44 students). As a result, we were able to have 2 groups participate one after another- both enjoyed the experience very much. The instructors were friendly, prepared, materials and reference photos were available for our use and as a result, everyone really enjoyed the class. Thank you!

My daughter had a fabulous and fun birthday party at The Art Studio! All her friends and classmates had a great time and enjoyed small fun group drawing, art game, and the final master piece painting! The adults enjoyed getting together in the smaller room while waiting. Michelle answered all my questions and eased my concerns before the party. She is so patient and super nice! The instructors handled the party so well! Our birthday cake had a 3D dragon on top which was made of cream. The wings melted before serving. One of the instructors painted a pair of dragon wings on some paper and replaced the broken wings. She saved the cake and saved the birthday party! Thank you so much, The Art Studio!

My daughter recently had a private art lesson for an hour. She absolutely loved it, she created a beautiful picture to take back and treasure here in the UK.The lesson was booked for 11am, however, we were running late, New York traffic ( we were also only in New York for the day, we were staying in Washington DC) and arrived at 11.30am, it didnt matter too much and they gave Emily the extra 30mins even though they were extremely busy. We want to say a massive thanks to all the staff it made our short trip to New York extra special, especially for our daughter.Thanks the Grundy Family

We recently had the pleasure of taking an art class as part of our trip from Colorado to New York City. Rebecca had the most calm and friendly demeanor and took the time to help each of us paint something we were each passionate about. It was such a great stop and gave us time to unwind from sightseeing. We were able to paint on a smaller canvas and bring it home where it hangs with pride! Thank you so much!

I attended the 3 hour beginner course that provides wine along w/ the painting instruction. To put it shortly - it was everything you could want from an art class. The class started w/ a 5 min intro of what we were doing and what the instructors role was. He was kind, calm and thoughtful with his instruction - he would basically go around and see if people needed help and would make suggestions and listen to your ideas. While you focus on your painting - oh yea, everything is provided for you! the canvas is an additional (~$10) charge though - there are some nice oldies tunes in the background. The space was not crowded and the people that go are a full spectrum of ability, with a commonality of quiet and respectful. The wine is at the front, along with water, and you just pour as you paint. You can really do whatever you want to your canvas too - creativity is encouraged. Just a great experience....totally worth the asking price.

My son took 2 five week sessions here When he was 2.5years old and had the best time! The artwork he came home with was all frame worthy and he was filled with pride when showing us his creations. Can’t wait to send him back this summer!

The Art Studio is an oasis in the sea of concrete we call Manhattan. Ive always wanted to properly learn how to paint. My children are grown and my husband works. I began going to the Art Studio NY about 2yrs ago. I started in a beginners class learning the basics. I have tried charcoal drawing, pastel and acrylic paint. Jake, my instructor is patient and very knowledgable. My husband saw how happy and skilled I became and joined me. Alone or with a partner you will learn and explore the world of creativity. I hosted a bachelorette party with the Art Studio and we had the most wonderful time! There was a gorgeous Male model and our wonderful instructor who was so sweet and helpful! We had 2 hours and they just flew by- we brought our own wine and bites, but they provided cups and all the art supplies! The Art Studio NY is such a great time - and Ive really never considered myself an artistic person. First of all, the vibes are friendly and the free wine sets the tone beautifully. Second, it is totally laid back with instructors who really customize their approach for each client. They keep the classes intimate so they are able to cater to each persons needs and help them reach their own creative style. It is not a lecture or seminar by any means, but rather VERY hands on and positive.Hands down, The Art Studio NY is by far the number 1 place to take art classes in NYC!!

Ive had a great experience here thus far. Jake (the one instructor Ive had here) is excellent. He is a very patient, capable, and insightful guide, who is as hands on or hands off as you want him to be. The classes are not cheap, but art rarely is, and imho, its worth paying for the top quality instruction.

The perfect location for a kids birthday party! Rebecca has a beautiful and creative art studio space on the Upper West Side.The staff is very helpful and responsive to emails and phone calls. Meera had great suggestions when I was deciding which kind of art project was going to be the best for a group of 4 year olds. The staff on the day of the party was ready to help with everything and had all the kids engaged as soon as they walked through the door. My first class at The Art Studio NY I was scared that I might be terrible but I was encouraged by the philosophy at TASNY - there are no mistakes when making art. Hi,I have visited the studio and I have the same concerns as Mr.Kwok has voiced in his recent review: locked route of fire escape. The manager’s assurance that someone has the key to the only door from the basement-located studio is not quite reassuring. In the chaotic situation of a fire the person with the key might find his way to the keyhole blocked by many frantic people who get to the door ahead of him, or in the rush could drop the key, etc. I understand that the management is trying to keep any intruders out by locking this door, but all emergency exit doors in theaters, supermarkets, office buildings and such can only be opened from inside and are alarmed. There is no excuse for not installing such a door.

I recently organized a team building event at the Art Studio NY and it was nothing short of absolutely fantastic!!!Not only did the owner, Rebecca, take the time to organize every minute detail with me to create the PERFECT event tailored to our company and our teams specific needs, but she made the process seem so fun and effortless!Though many members of our team were somewhat hesitant to take an art class in the beginning, by the end of our time at the Art Studio NY, we had all fallen in love with the experience and as a result, our team is still raving about it! It has changed my life. i went from a true beginner producing basic work to a more experienced beginner :-) producing work im really proud of. classes are small and the staff at the studio is so encouraging, supportive and instructive without being destructive. Rebecca, the owner, actively follows students on social media and shares her praise as well. art has now turned into a form of meditation and a safe place where i dont judge myself as I do normally! well worth your time! and be sure to sign up for class with Michelle. she has a certain way of gathering people to her that dont want to leave!

Channel your inner artist! I always thought that I have some latent artistic talent and Rebecca lets me find it. Im not headed to MOMA yet, but Im gaining an appreciation for materials and methods. Definitely worthwhile and besides, they let you drink there - isnt that how the masters did it?

I took the sewing 101 class - it was $25 for three hours. our instruction, kelly malone, is an incredibly thorough instructor. not only does she relay her teaching clearly, you can also tell she really enjoys doing these classes. so much so that we actually went 30 mins over schedule! im so fortunate this is only a few blocks from my apt, cant wait to take more!

I have tried various places in the city and finally landed at the art studio ny. I have been going there for lessons for over 2 years now and love the place. The art teachers are terrific! Rebecca (the owner) has a fantastic talent for hiring the right people.I have learned so much!One of the great things is the group atmosphere in each lesson. We get to know each other and get inspired by looking at each others work. The lessons are usually 2 hours long and are so enjoyable that we do not want to leave...

The Art Studio provides a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere that encourages creativity. An artists home away from home.

Location is horrible- in 1b- elev operator yelling at me for pressing the button- then refused to take me to 1b- there were no stairs- the super told me to apologize- then he left i called the studio no one picked up the phone the super returned and took me dowmstairs but i was 30 mins left- the teacher never told the office person- and i saw someone there later- i called mgmt of bldg but they neevr returned my call- couldnt care less as well as the cheesy owner of ny art studio- the elev op screamed like a psycho acted mentally unstable- and so is the art studio owner for having such an unsafe location- also the receipt after you pay goes on and own re no refund written like a mental case person- demanding a refund- never go there

I never when here before is so many studio out there too learning how to draw rappers 421 staff WWE superstar movies TV outside houses and many more
