Excellent work under the direction of a Licences Barber. Everything down the list is $3.00. Yes, Three Dollars. I have been going there for years, and it is the only place I will use.Additionally, I paid with a /$5.00 bill so I tipped the woman 66.6%.When you go in you sign a disclosure that covers Covid concerns, leave your number for Trace if necessary.I have the woman control of my mask. Everyone was masked and sterile gel is available and recommended. There was no wait, as they have space for 20 students. There were 12 working today.Absolutely Recommend this.

I began at the Barber institute in July and in 2 weeks I was already cutting hair for actual people. All the staff and teachers are very helpful and respectful. They work with the pace you need and help in various elements. I learned many key terms when it comes to cutting hair. They have taught me how to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. When I’m in the class the teachers closely work with us on preparing for the final exam at the end of this course. I still have to finish the course but already in 2 months I see major progression with not only my skills with cutting hair but my customer care skills and accommodating the client.

The institute is not bad once you can get in the chair. The students are talented and I havent had a bad cut since going there. However, they need a floor manager and a general manager if they are going to operate more efficiently as a business. There are usually barbers that are just sitting either on their phones or talking to the other barbers. Also, I have observed that it takes students who are just coming in a really long time to get set up. Im not sure if there is some sort of gestation period before they can start practicums but it does look unprofessional on the business side. The general manager can be there to enforce a level of decorum, speed, and efficiency among the student barbers. This would free instructors to observe and inspect work. The floor manager should be in charge of customer turnover. The sign in/we will call your name method could work but customers should have updates and there should be someone to handle complaints and wait times who is professional and organized. It is the cheapest cut I have ever seen, but they could be so much better.

The entire haircut took about hour and a half. I understand these are student and learning for the first time. I do not have an issue with that. Its with the instructors they are taking their own sweet time leaving the students hanging. They are also getting their own haircuts. I had to go else where to finish my haircut as it was not done well. I went there to give student a chance and practice but I wish the instructors were helpful. There were other students helping each other. If I had to give this place a great review it would be because of a student name Troy who literally help the student who was doing my haircut.

I went early in the day to get a quick trim, just take the clippers and trim me up real quick, nothing special, hell my girlfriend does it for me and she is not a barber. No disrespect, but the dude was musky early in the morning, when he lifted his arm to trim, the funk was baked into his shirt which he must have several times without washing it. Dudes entire hygiene game was not on point. When dealing with the public bath and come to work in clean clothes, and of course he could not cut hair at all, did not give a damn that day or does not really want to become a barber. Worst cut ever, if a barber does not have hygiene he should not be allowed to complete hours at the school.

I understand that you get what you pay for. However when someone tells you that theyve got a bunch of experience and you are simply asking for a trim, you dont expect him to take 45 minutes with the clippers and then have his instructor have to take over. Yeah, its a classroom but its not the resource room for barbers.I honestly fear for the poor shop that brings my guy aboard. He has no business cutting hair, he should be asking do you want fries with that?

I cannot stress enough how amazing this school is and how much it has changed my life for the better. The owner, Alex, truly cares about all of the students and puts his heart and soul into making sure that each and every one gets put on the right path to success. When I started, I knew almost nothing about cutting hair. Within 4 months, I was ready to confidently apply to be an apprentice. Thanks to the schools job placement efforts, I was given a lead that resulted in having a job the very next day after my graduation! This will not be the experience of everyone who attends the school because I went to the right interview at the right time, but I guarantee that anyone considering going here will be incredibly happy with the job placement efforts of the staff. And speaking of the staff, the instructors are AMAZING!!!! I decided to change careers at 31 years old, and ABI gave me the instruction and opportunity to turn my life around. My teachers were Josue, Harold, Frank, and Dave. I can go on and on and on and on about how each one of them individually helped me to step my game up. So, in conclusion, from the ownership to the instruction to the accommodations to the atmosphere, this is a 5 Star school in every way. Thank you, American Barber Institute!!!!!!!

The directors have been such a great help. Even after graduating Ms. Gala is there whenever I need her. THIS IS THE MOST HONEST REVIEW YOU WILL SEE ON HERE.I am not a client that went to the school to get a haircut, I am an actual alumni!. If I didnt have to put a star I wouldnt dare! There are so many cons about this place its unbelievable!!!!PROS:1) you get to learn about different type of clippers and how to cut hair.2) grace period!3) David, Storm, and maybe Mr. Brown4) Morning class is 8am-2pm and the evening class is 2pm-8pm5) its 4 months, 6 hours and 5 days a week6) Sometimes the bakery next door gives the school Bagels and Cakes 😊CONS:1) $4,600 for a 4 months course, make sure if youre going to attend this school you have a down payment of $750 and that you can pay $200 A WEEK!! For the next 4 months UNLESS you have the money to pay in full then youre ok.2) Theres this guy that comes in every now and then that asks the students to write a positive review about the school since it has so many negative reviews on Yelp and Google, and he will stand next you and make sure you write the review he wants you to write (FYI, a majority of the positive reviews you see on here about this school is because that guy tells them to write them. Now a few of them are honest but you wouldnt know unless you were there yourself.).3) In a barber school you should learn how to cut EVERY TYPE OF HAIR, RIGHT!?, its just common sense!!! They will give the brown complexion students people with their type of hair and give the Latin and caucasian students clients with their type of hair. The brown students rarely get anyone with straight hair and I mean as rare as finding a Skittle in a bag of M&Ms.4) 2 men work in an office on the first floor in the back, Alex and Felix. Alex is a cool understanding guy, hes the one thats in charge, FELIX on the other hand is the worst! The way he hunts people down for money is ridiculous!!! Everything in this school is about money money money and not enough teaching!5) The so-call barber chairs are ripped up! Cant turn, smell, dont go up and down, cant lean back to give a proper facial shave, they wobble, and shake!6) lighting!? A majority of the bulbs on the wall are either dim or blown out! Some of the electrical sockets doesnt even work! One of the most important things barely works!!! 🤭7) When they tell you fights doesnt break out in the school its a damn lie!!! Almost every week theres something!!!8) 3 different teachers teaching 3 different ways of cutting hair, 1 teacher will get upset with you because you choose not to follow his way of cutting, God forbid you find a method best for you and still get the same results! (I wont say his name just reread #3 in my PROS and youll know who)9) If youre a beautiful woman youre going to have a great 4 months if youre a Male good luck! They help women more than men.10) If you have to miss a day of school to go to work just so you can make more money to pay them on time, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!!!11) $4,600 from 15 students in the morning and 12 in the afternoon, there should be no reason as to why everything is falling apart!!!By the way the negative reviews you see on here, Yelp, and other sites about bad haircuts are just stupid! Seriously... SERIOUSLY!!!! Youre going to a school where 99.9% of the students are just learning how to cut hair and youre taking about how horrible your haircut was!? YOURE GOING TO A SCHOOL TO GET A HAIRCUT!! YOUR PAYING 0 TO $3 FOR A HAIRCUT! FROM A NEWBIE! A STUDENT!!! These people have to sign a waiver every time the come in before they get a cut! The waiver explains that theyre getting a haircut from a STUDENT and how their haircut may not come out to what they expect! What did you not understand in what you signed!?And the type of people that go in there for a cut may discourage you from cutting hair but dont worry about that, youre learning how to cut hair and itll discipline you.Well good luck to the new students that read this

Before entering Barber school I had no experience cutting hair at all. When I leave I will be able to say I am proficient in many different cuts, styles, the tools of the trade and the language of barbering. A school is only as good as its teachers, and the instructors of ABI have far surpassed my expectations. They are obviously knowledgable, but also attentive, always willing to help every student (even though they also must manage the flow of customers) and patient. I am so grateful for their help. That being said, in any educational environment you will get out what you put in, so dont be afraid to ask for help, ask questions, be a beginner and learn. I highly recommend ABI for anyone interested in learning how to become a master barber.
