Ajna Dance Studio is an amazing organization! They adapted their workshops for our virtual classrooms and our students are still abuzz with excitement!

We are so very grateful to the Ajna Dance Company for their FANTASTIC large group assembly performance and lessons that were given to our K-2nd grade students!! They are engaging and exciting educators and performers. It was so much fun to participate and watch all the young children in their homes joyfully learning the dances and watching the performances. The Ajna dancers performed at Brooklyn Childrens Museum for Diwali. They were truly fantastic, engaging, talented and friendly. We love working with them!

We love when the Ajna dance Company performs for The International Preschools. This year we were hesitant about not having the company perform live but the virtual performance was engaging, age appropriate and enjoyable for the children as well as the staff!

Anja Dance company did a live stream assembly for our K-8 students the week before Diwali. They did an excellent job presenting the celebration of Diwali to our students. Then we switched to learning Indian dancing. What fun! Teachers and students alike got up, moved, danced, did hand and feet movements, and best of all smiled and laughed. A 7th grade boy came up to me afterwards and told me how much fun it had been, as did many other students and teacher. Learning in isolated pod classrooms in person has been a challenge, but this enlivened us all! This group is incredibly professional and wonderful to work with. I love seeing their videos - they are so lovely to watch.

We invited Ajna Dance Company to perform at our wedding reception. We had 5 dancers. The group arrived ahead of time and were friendly. Their performances were excellent. We had 2 dance medleys with each medley lasting 8-10 minutes. Within each medley, the dancers performed to 4-5 Hindi songs. Their dancing was amazing. It was well choreographed and well synchronized! My wife and I and our guests enjoyed their dance performances. The Hindi songs were popular, well-known songs. I would highly recommend Ajna Dance Company to your event as they are so fun and will help take your event to the next level.

Ajna provided a 45 minute assembly for 120 third and fourth graders at my school. The group is so joyous, professional, child appropriate, interesting and engaging. The students AND teachers LOVED every minute of it.The assembly consisted of a mix of historical information about the different types of Indian dance, along with demonstrations of each dance. It was carefully crafted and sequential. The mix of demonstrations and experiential engagement was perfect for the age group. Large group management was wonderfully executed. The whole gym came to life with everyone- students and adults- dancing along with big smiles on their faces.I cant recommend them highly enough. We had them dance for 1st and 2nd graders last year and that was equally wonderful. We have booked them for a residency with 7th graders and I know that they will eat it up!Go Ajna!

Minila is extremely passionate and talented in all things dance! She’s got a great team working with her.

We had Ajna at our (bollywood obsessed) daughters 4th birthday party to teach a workshop. All kids (& adults!) had a blast. The teacher Rashmi was so lovely & very engaging. A fantastic experience!

Ajna Dance conducted 2 assemblies celebrating Holi for our over 600 students in Pre-K - 5th grades. The assembly consisted of the history of various types of Indian Dances followed by a demonstration of each dance. Students and staff were fascinated during the performances. Ajna made it all come to life even more when they asked for audience participation. The students and staff both equally enjoyed all aspects of the assembly and are looking forward to others. Ajna staff members are friendly, polite, knowledgable, engaging, and professional. We will definitely book Ajna Dance for future assemblies and possible residencies as we continue to celebrate and embrace all cultures.

We had Ajna Dance provide group classes for our afterschool program for elementary students this year and the kids had so much fun! It culminated in a wonderful recital at the end of the session. The kids were so proud of themselves and we loved that they learned about the culture while having fun dancing.

Shachi and Ajna dance studio choreographed and taught us our first dance for our reception and a bollywood dance for our sangeet. We had an awesome experience working with Shachi and were extremely happy with the end results. Just a couple weeks prior to our events we began working with Shachi who was creative and energetic, not to mention a saint for dealing with our constant shenanigans. We provided Shachi with the songs ahead of time, and she would come into each lesson ready to teach us the choreography. She knew how to choreograph a variety of different types of songs and styles including typical bollywood, bhangra, tapori, and waltz. We really liked her choreography and she did a great job at teaching as well, taking into account our strengths and weaknesses. We also really appreciated that she would take our feedback and change the choreography when we wanted to do something differently. She was always pleasant to learn with even when we scheduled early morning appointments that werent super convenient for her. I was very happy with the pricing they gave especially compared with other studios and considering their services are offered in Manhattan. We did approximately 11 hours of sessions to learn two 3 minute dances consisting of various songs. 10-12 hours is enough time to learn the choreography, but you will need to practice for a few hours on your own time to perfect it as well. Consider doing about 15 hours if you really want to get the dances just right along with your instructor. Ajna Dance truly managed to capture my attention with the Clasical Blend drop-in class since it is very different from what other academies teach. They teach you posture and technique while making the experience enjoyable and dancing to a combination of Classical-beat Bollywood songs.I also joined the Bollywood drop-in class and I have to say WHAT A WORKOUT...especially the Bhangra warm-up.Since last year they began teaching 12-week Performance Intensive sessions and I have to say they are worth it. At the end of those 12 weeks you will have learned new steps, improved your posture and technique and show all your friends and family how much fun you had by inviting them to the recital.
