The studio is large, every single class I attended I had lots of fun.I loved flex with Patricia it changed my view on flexibility, you’re actually supposed to use your muscles, it makes the biggest difference. I would love to attend another class with her.Pole 1 with Zhana was probably the most challenging and I low key was mad at first. But by the end I was so happy with her conditioning I decided to attend her class again. Not just a good pole teacher but great fitness trainer.Intro to silk with Alisa was so much fun, she’s a great teacher and we were able to do a couple of really cool moves in only the first class. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because you have to share poles. I have taken a few pole classes before and never had to share a pole and I wonder if I would’ve loved it so much if I had to share poles in the beginning. I guess this is normal for Manhattan but I won’t be returning its $200 for 5 classes. It’s a lot of money for half of the practice time.

I really like the studio and the classes are great. With the pandemic, the classes were shortened, each person had their own pole, and prices were raised. It was perfectly fine given the circumstances. The studio has fully re-opened but prices remained high, classes are still shorter and now we have to share poles. It no longer makes financial sense to continue taking classes here.

I am an existing customer who reserved a 11:20am class for Saturday 09/04/2021. I arrived here at 11:26am due to traffic, which I understand has passed the 5min late entry mark. However, after I explained to both the front desk staff and manager that I’ve had previous experience on poll dance and have completed the warm up process prior to arriving at the establishment so there’s no minimized safety concern, the store manager Patricia Yndogoyen still won’t make a reasonable exception for me and denied access for me to even come into the classroom to quickly say hi to my friends/ the instructor who are already in the room. During this whole process the attitude, language and sentiments that she had against me was rude and unaccommodating, which is completely unacceptable. I strongly urge the whoever is in charge of the store/policies to review and train the employees on placing customers’ interest first and treat them in a warm and inviting way.I have demanded but still waiting to hear back a full refund to the original form of payment as a result of the terrifying and unacceptable experience I’ve received by the store manager.

I’ve been pole dancing around the world for 4 years. No matter how you look at it, at least where Pole dancing is concerned, Body and Pole is not a good studio. In a good pole dance class, much like in any other dance class, you typically create a choreo, and integrate new tricks and spins into that choreo and you learn by dancing. However, Body and Pole does not care about the artistry behind pole dancing, and is more of a pole FITNESS gimmick than anything. Their typical pole classes are literally comprised of learning random tricks in an overcrowded room (often sharing a pole) and with random music playing in the background. The instructors barely have time to give to you since they overbook the classes seeking to gain profit, and there is no connection with the music (they play random electronic music and nothing is choreographed). Mind you, they do have some choreography classes but they’re all on the static pole and don’t implement any tricks, so what’s the point ?It seems like the only way to get a well rounded pole experience in body and pole is to take one separarte class for spinning pole, another separate class for tricks, and another separate class for choreo. If that’s not annoying enough, each class is 45 dollars…I’m convinced that anybody that goes to this studio on the regular is being taken advantage of and has not had to opportunity to take actually well rounded pole dance classes in which you get to connect with the music, express your artistry and learn everything in the same class depending on your level.

Body & Pole has extremely poor customer service. Prior to buying tickets, I called the front desk and questioned her about their Groupon tickets since I wanted to get two for both my sister and I (I didnt have the option to buy 2 on their company website). She encouraged me to do so, then after I did, I called back to reserve a class and she said, I forgot say our customer service team has to approve the tickets on a week day prior to beginning the class. How could the front desk leave out such an important piece of information like that the first time I called? I ended up not hearing back from the customer service team despite my email attempts and they also do not have a phone number you can reach them by. Unprofessional and disorganized. Im very dissatisfied with the misguided information I received and the lack of organization. They should make sure their front desk receptionists are more properly trained about their partnership with Groupon. Completely ruined my sisters birthday surprise.

My friends and I took a trip to NY and discover this dance studio. We all signed up for a class on March 27th. Upon leaving our hotel in the morning and trying to find the location of the studio, we called the office to inform them that we were having some trouble finding the studio. We ended up arriving 1 minute after the 5 minute grace window. We of course apologized and explained that we call and traveled a long way and if there was anything anyone could to do to make an exception. We really excited to attend. The woman with the blonde hair condensingly apologized and told us unfortunately there was nothing she could do. We asked to speak with a manager and were quickly told no one would be available to help us. We honestly felt racial profiled because when we first entered the studio the ladies at the front desk uttered “oh no” and began to laugh. This was a very bad experience and I understand having a strict policy, however, how you treat customers is very important. We all received an email that we were a no show and of course this wasn’t the case. The blonde woman at the front desk could of made the changes in the system that showed we were late and that is why didn’t attend  This goes to show that she simply did not want to help and just wanted us to leave quickly. This could of been handled ALOT differently.Dominique Livingston

Beware the discounted class packages if you are looking to take Intro to Pole classes. You basically have 3 months to use five classes but there is only one Intro to Pole scheduled after 7pm on weekdays and unless you’re booking them first thing in the morning a week in advance, they are always filled up. I’ve mentioned this difficulty to a receptionist and they’ve basically said “yep that’s how they get ya”. If you want an extension on the package, you have to buy another package. I REALLY dislike this business practice. Otherwise, the instructors are fantastic. Both Sammy Wong and Donna Carnow are great teachers.

Ive tried other studios and just like any studio this one has its ups and downs. A lot of folks complain about the late arrival policy but the policy is there for a reason. For many classes late arrival is disruptive because the instructors ask everyone in the beginning about injuries. Also if I could skip the warmup I would, but that would also lead to injury. I know Im not alone in wishing I could get out of the warm up, but I also know its important to build the strength to do the harder moves. After a year of consistent training I could go on about the cons, but I want to write more about the pros. Namely, the amazing teachers who keep me coming back.Yes there are a lot of teachers to love, but I greatly appreciate Stella Finks Pole classes. She keeps things fun yet challenging. She will also spot you and is willing to work with you if theres something you are struggling with. She teaches with Patience and humility (as does Irmingard Mayer) and I strongly recommend either of these instructors new to Pole. You will not be disappointed.

Im going to start with the good things about this place.1. Studio rooms are nice and big. Enough space to really dance (although sometimes you do have to move around to not hit something or someone but definitely better space than other places.)2. 90 minute long class with a 30 minute warm-up/exercises (each instructor has a different way to start the class some balance stretching with working out others not so much).3. Variety of classes offered as well as some special classes.4. Fairly clean and big changing room area also lots of bathrooms. (Which helps when you have so many people there)5. Customer service is decent.6. A lot of really good teachers. Some that I really like are Stella, Jeni, Armando, Sam D, Brigitte, Elena, and Kelly.7. This is personal preference but they use the 45mm poles which I LOVE.Cons/ advice1. Dislike their late policy. (Make sure to give yourself extra time because if you arrive 6 minutes then they dont let you take the class. However they do let you take another class that same day assuming the other class is not full.)2. 24 hour in advance cancellation policy, but if you are sick and went to the Dr. just make sure to get a Drs note.3. Pay close attention when buying packages because they have a very specific termination date.Overall I really do like the studio and do recommend people to try it out and see how you like it. All the teachers are amazing and really make sure to help you on your journey. Try different teachers, they each have their own style and try all three fields (pole, fabric, and hoop classes).

The classes tend to be too big and crowded, and its difficult to learn proper form and get personal feedback from the instructor. Ive been to B&P a few times before (a few years back) and it is no doubt the best place to enhance your pole and aerial skills.
