We had a fantastic time learning ballroom basics from Bozhidar! He’s an excellent instructor even for someone like myself with no formal dance experience. I only wish I lived in New York so that I could continue receiving instruction from Bozhidar!

They have fabulous looking facility that would make people feel as if they are home. The staff that works there are very knowledgeable and courteous. The instructors are amazing when it comes to teaching ballroom and latin dances. I know this because my current teacher has been amazing thus far. Anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to dance will be in good hands here.

My husband and I are having the time of our lives at the East Side Fred Astaire dance studio. We signed up for a few lessons because we knew that ballroom dancing improves balance, posture, memory and is aerobic. Little did we know how much fun we would have! The studio is cheerful, clean and a large space observing Covid protocols but what keeps us coming back are the instructors, Tina, Plamen and Bobby. They are warm, friendly and fabulous championship dancers and excellent teachers. There are students at all levels of dance, from beginners to competitive dancers but at any level you feel great while learning and gliding across the dance floor. Check it out - you may become as smitten as we are.

I couldn’t recommend Bobby as an instructor more! He is absolutely the best! My fiancé and I looked forward to our wedding dance lessons every week and ended up doing a few extra sessions after our package ran out. Neither of us have any experience dancing and Bobby always made us feel extremely comfortable. We learned a lot and had fun doing it. Bobby is extremely methodical and detailed and is very thoughtful about how to make a great routine that you’re completely comfortable with. The studio is very clean and private as well. All of the tips that Bobby gave us for our wedding day were so helpful. Our guests were crying/cheering/so touched by our wedding dance and are still talking about it weeks later. It was truly special and made our wedding day that much more amazing and memorable. Would recommend to anyone!

My fiancé and I wanted to have a choreographed dance for our wedding. We took 5 dance lessons with Plamen who is so knowledgeable and professional. He made a beautiful routine for us that really wowed our family and friends at our wedding. Also, it was so much fun! My now husband and I plan to return for more dance lessons since we had such a great time with Plamen.

I have been a student here for over 14 years. They have highly qualified instructors to teach you any dances you like. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I currently enjoy learning international standard dances from Calin. Its amazing how happy you feel after the lesson no matter how tired or stressed you may have been.I hope many people get to discover this amazing feeling of dancing. Its a great way to exercise too!

My husband and I had classes with Elena. She was great! She developed an amazing routine for our wedding dance, which impressed our families and friends in a very special way. Capturing what we wanted and who we are, in only eight classes Elena was able to prepare us for one of the most special moments in one of the most special days of our lives. And it was wonderful! Compliments, huge smiles and tears of joy that will be remembered for a lifetime. We already miss our classes on Friday evenings. Thank you very much Elena, and everyone at the Studio. I dont know how to thank Bobby enough for creating the perfect first dance for our wedding. I tore my ACL 3 months before my wedding and we started doing lessons about 1 month in advance of our wedding since I was only cleared by the doctors then. My husband is not the biggest dancer and Bobby was able to create the perfect dance for us. He was so supportive every step of the way and totally made us believe that we could do it and to just have fun!!! He allowed us to practice in the dance studio whenever we wanted and that was amazing.Bobby - you are amazing. We did it and the crowd LOVED it. Craig wants to now take dancing classes for fun, so you made us fall in love with dancing :) Dont know how to thank you enough.

My wife and I took lessons with Elena in preparation for our wedding. While my wife is a great dancer, Im the definition of two-left feet and lack of rhythm. Elenas teaching style was perfect for both my wife and me. Furthermore, her choreography was perfect for both of us and her energy was infectious, and the dance lessons were the most enjoyable time we had leading up to the wedding. And yes, we nailed the dance on wedding day! We cannot recommend her and Fred Astaire strongly enough.

My husband and I took dance lessons at Fred Astaire Upper East Side with Elena leading up to our wedding. My husband is definitely not the natural-born dancer and Elena found a way to really not only make him confident in our dance, but he actually turned out to be a great dancer!! She is patient and her energy throughout all 21 lessons was inspiring and so much fun! We knew that each lesson would be an extremely enjoyable time of day, especially with all of the wedding preparation stresses that would arise. Our time with Elena was the best and we are sad to be done with our lessons. On the wedding day, we 100% nailed our dance, which included a dramatic dip and even ended with a lift! We were so happy and received so many compliments on the dance and choreography - thanks to Elena! We love all of the staff at the studio and plan on returning for some more fun dance lessons in the future! Thank you so much to Elena and the entire Fred Astaire Upper East Side team!! We had such a wonderful experience taking dance lessons from Bobby (and Elena) for our first dance for our wedding. They were exceedingly patient with us and our final dance was amazing and exceeded all of our expectations. Were still getting compliments from guests months later!

We worked with Bobby and he was excellent! We previously took a lesson with another instructor and Bobby was able to help finesse our moves before our wedding. Even after just one session we felt like we improved. It was fun too. The studio is clean and professional. And make sure you ask for Bobby.

My fiance and I have been having a great time here. We started off with Boris, who put our arms on each other and started us in guided motion. Within 60 seconds, we felt like we were dancing more professionally. Then throughout, he introduced us to some different steps and traded off so we could both have the experience of dancing with someone who knew what they were doing. We practiced our basic steps, and when we came back we had Nicole who enthusiastically built on what we apparently had already gotten down in two weeks, showing us a few more spins. It was a lot of fun! They just point out where your steps are off or the leading/following motions and things started to flow quickly. We always have loved dancing like goof balls together, its something we both enjoy but its a different kind of high to learn actual fundamentals and dance moves. Looking forward to the group class. Highly recommend.

I have been dancing with Plamen and Tina for nearly a decade. I find their dedication and professionalism to be outstanding for all level dancers. The studio is clean and well run. There is also a wonderful community of students and teachers which makes me feel at home each time I am there.

Definitely, it is one of the best places to learn all types of dance. The dance teachers are professional and supportive. They always encourage you to dance that you truly love!

Elena helped us out tremendously before our wedding with little time, little talent (us), and tremendous patience (her!). Shes an incredible teacher and would highly recommend!

My husband and I started with an introductory series and have been dancing every week now for four years! We look forward to our lessons and no longer sit out dances at social events. We are up and dancing constantly. When you have great pros like Sonya and Collin you feel confidant to try anything. Our friends have been surprised by how much we have learned and how excited we are to keep learning new steps.

We had Bobby as our teacher and he was very friendly and patient with us! We learned the hustle and basic salsa moves. Overall a fun learning experience!

Theyre pretty terrible in my opinion. They are money hungry and they teach you the minimum. I literally wasted my money and there were a lot of red flags. You can learn more watching YouTube. Trust me.

IN 1952 I STUDIED AT THE AMERICAN ART SCHOOL ART ACADEMY, WHICH WAS A SIDE OF THIS FRED ASTAIRE DANCE ACADEMY. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES.
