My first review seems to have been removed so I’m leaving another for my fellow actors.This studio offers excellent classes with great industry professionals. Their voiceover classes in particular are the best in the city, and their voiceover reels are very well done and a very good value. However, their film acting reels are not a good value and are not super well done. Seek other businesses (Reel U, ReelArc, etc.) for your on-camera reel or stick with student films, but in general this is overall a great studio for classes and industry showcases .

Acting and Voice Studios has been my hub (especially last year) for classes, workshops, and training ever since I took my first in person New York City Acting Class with them. I worked with them to develop my most recent Acting and VO Reel and took the associated Online Prep Classes. The resulting Film Scene/Short and VO Demos were outstanding and top notch quality. Awesome Job…super pleased…Their teachers and programs are great…

No other online acting school offers this much opportunity to meaningfully interact with top industry professionals. Their customer service is also amazing, and if you know anything about the industry, this is not at all obvious.

Carter has done so many courses through Acting and Voice Studios and every one of them have been invaluable. Having an opportunity to meet and learn from such a diverse group of industry professionals has assisted Carter so much in his understanding of the industry. Everyone he has had the pleasure to learn from as well as the wonderful staff at AVS have been incredible, always going above and beyond to ensure his questions are answered and he feels comfortable. His entire experience has been fantastic and enabled him to stay involved throughout a pretty tough time during Covid.Our entire experience has been so positive and both Carter and I are truly appreciative to have their ongoing support.

Acting and Voice Studios is wonderful. The staff is friendly, kind, and have great communication, the quantity of classes offered makes it easy to find a class that fits your wants/needs as an actor, and the quantity does not affect the quality of classes/showcases. While the classes arent cheap, the connections you make and experiences you get with professionals makes it worth it. The online classes feel like saviors in current covid-times.

I remember going to Acting & Voice studios for the first time in person and i met Katrina Moran, she was welcoming, professional and kind. Learned a lot even after covid-19, they have online masterclass with Casting Directors, opportunities to showcase your talent in front of agents and managers. Everyone is super nice, they give honest great feedback. Its also great to have actors with more experience from the studios read script along with us for a scene, that helps a lot. Great communication by the team at the studio, great value, good people makes me go back to acting and voice studios time and time again so i can continue to learn and grow as an actor. I have had at least four different classes/intensives here and enjoyed each one. One often hears how tough and cutthroat the acting industry can be. Nice to learn this is not always the case after engaging with the professional and pleasant folks here. Looking forward to more classes, demo reels and voiceovers projects in the near future.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this group of people.Putting yourself out there is a hard thing , even if you really want to .I’ve never felt judged and have learned a lot from each set of courses and made some new friends in the process.If you get a chance to work with James O’Conner I highly recommend it . I would stay away from this place.. They display a sense of entitlement and take advantage of an actor in need for guidance. Waste of money. . unkind treatment . There is another review below with exact same experience. Money grabbing place.I purchased the class costing me over $100 with a casting director in this studio, after receiving the invoices I submitted all the requested material ..For some freakish reason , Though I was on the computer working , forgot the session and I missed..I asked for a credit and I got a flat No. not only that, the the manager kept emailing me 3-4 times - according to her the fact that I forgoting the class was unprofessional and that I was not allowed to register anymore, though all I was asking is a credit. . I don’t think I’ve been treated like this ever.. !.Firstly, it is a completely human to forget. Second , it was my first time and third, since the zoom era all business send out at least 2 notices Just 2-3 hours prior. I think that would be fair to actors if studio wants to keep a no refund, no credit policy.Sending reminders early morning when the session is at 6pm is NOT enough..But they think they don’t owe you that while pocketing your money which they did not earn.Not only that, looks like they had somehow my previous review removed .. I hope this makes it.I have all email communications saved and this gets removed again I will address this differently.

The studio class was an awesome experience!!I was messaged all the information I needed ahead of time, and the studio was extremely responsive to any questions over e-mail (before & after the meeting).During the meeting everyone had time to talk with the Agent, and almost everyone had the opportunity to perform a second piece.The reader/host was engaged, and positive making sure everyone who wanted to perform was able to in a comfortable and easy way.Ive already recommended this site to my friends and will be taking more classes here in the future!

I have attended a bunch of classes with this studio and really love them. I have been able to meet agents and casting directors to get amazing feedback on my performance. I have even recorded my VO reel with them. I cant recommend them enough.

I’ve been taking classes at AVS since January of 2020, and even during the pandemic, I participated in a workshop via zoom, and I couldn’t wait til the In Person class resumed this year, so I’ve been back since February of 2021. Coach James O’Conner is the best! I love both his uplifting and challenging feedbacks, and has really set a positive and supportive atmosphere at every group/class I’ve been a part of.I’ve learned and grown so much as an actor, and not only that, but I’ve learned so much about the TV/Film industry with AVS, and for that I am grateful. My daughter signed up to take two of Acting & Voice Studios Bi-Coastal Talent Agents workshops and she absolutely loved it! She received great notes from the guest agents. She has really applied the notes that they gave her in order to help her stand out in self-tapes and auditions. As an added bonus, the workshops are one of the most affordable I have come by. Would recommend it.

Acting and voice studios gives actors a chance to meet with some of the best industry professionals in the game! Theyre very professional, and extremely nice. One thing in particular, is that they check in with their regulars to make sure theyve heard about an awesome upcoming class, or if theyd love to join it, before it fills up. I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions taking Barry’s voice over class. The studio communicated schedule changes clearly and sent materials promptly that were necessary. I would have loved to participate in another workshop if COVID hadn’t been an issue. I intend to take another 2 workshops next year. Would definitely recommend!

Doing the good work, fighting the good fight, helping actors meet professionals in their industry who are kind and focused on teaching. The sessions can be a bit costly, but not prohibitively so and they have options for everyone! Ive made a lot of good relationships with agents and casting directors through this service and I recommend it.

The staff, students, and teachers at Acting and Voice Studios have been wonderful. Ive learned a lot, grown as an actress, and made new friendships. The feedback and professional advice has been really helpful. The positive difference in my confidence, performance, headshot, and resume have been clearly noticeable. I completed two, 2-week intensives with 2 different casting directors and they were both very different which provided a range of variety and perspectives and a great value! I learned so much in just 2 hours and only 1 day a week. The feedback I was given was super helpful and I highly recommend these intensives for anyone just starting out in acting or also someone who just wants to put themselves in front of a CD! Great for all skill levels!

I had an awesome experience with the studio! The class I took was with James Andrew OConnor, who really cares about his students. Every week I looked forward to this class, so much so that I took it multiple times. I learned many new techniques and skills each class, and was also provided with suggestions for books and materials to further my learning. I can’t wait to take another class!

I purchased a class for $170 with this studio and i received a confirmation and one reminder in that morning. the class was in the evening at 6pm which I freakishly forgot throughout my very busy day.Zooming is a new thing in my experience the entities or people who actually care send out a reminder again just before the session... I strongly believe the links should have been sent 2-3 hours early instead of 10 hours early..TO CHARGE A $170 AND NOT TO EVEN SEND OUT REMINDERS PROPERLY? THAT SIMPLY SHOWS THEY DONT RESPECT YOU AND YOU ARE JUST A PAPER FOR THEM.In any event, i was a new customer who could have purchased more services but the studio manager was adamant on not making accommodations to either refund and give me a credit...It felt cheated .. and i felt the my money and my work was literally rubbed off of me...... neither the instructor nor the studio worked for that money and i believe the credit should have been given..Indeed that is unheard of in my experience and quite indecent practice.

I did five workshops this summer and Ive got the opportunity to meet amazing castings directors and agents from the US. Studio has the best motivational atmosphere for actors! Staff and industry professionals have personalities as amazing as their credentials!

I have participated in several in-person and Zoom seminars at Acting & Voice Studios. I think they are better organized and administered than when the studio first opened. I thought the Zoom voiceover showcase i most recently attended was a good idea, but there were so many actors involved that there was not enough time for any one of us to repeat our read, so the panelists could see how well we took direction. But the panelists were thoughtful and insightful, and it was worthwhile overall.

My 14 year old daughter takes classes with Acting & Voice Studios. I Highly recommend!!! Staff are very professional and quick to respond. Excellent communication!! Great quality of Instructors and very engaging.

Thanks to Acting and Voice Studios for a terrific class with Pam Goldman. There are so many classes for general voice over and commercial work, it was a rare opportunity to work with a world-class pro on Animation! I will look for more classes with Pam in the future.

Had such a great experience here. Took a few casting director and agent workshops and always have fun and learn a lot. Katrina and the whole staff are super nice and accommodating. I’ve taken workshops at other places, but they never felt as friendly or welcoming. These guys treat you like a person and really care about your career. If you’re just getting started or already experienced, I’d recommend this place either way.

Amazing place to work and take class with top industry professionals!!

I took both the Commercial acting and Voiceover intensives with Barry Shapiro. I learned so much from those sessions and also worked with Barry as a coach. It helped me to develop my skills, build my website and most importantly - get work!!

The course wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be but was still extremely exciting and informative.

If you want a realistic look into the industry and to be taken seriously as an actor, look no further than Acting and Voice Studios.

AVS is the best studio Ive worked with!

I would not recommend this place. I paid full price for a 3-week class but had to go out of town for the first one. Instead of either offering a partial refund or allowing me to enroll in another class, they just said I was allowed to attend the next two.

My beginner acting class is the best part of my week! I was nervous to attend my first class as a bit of an acting novice but the staff made me feel incredibly comfortable and free to be me! The way they teach is incredibly engaging and interactive. I leave each class with a better understanding of acting and even more confidence in my ability. It’s a fun sanctuary from the day to day. If you have even the slightest bit of curiosity, I highly recommend you to check it out!!

Professional in all aspects, The owners and teachers are always going to go the extra distance for their students and to help better themselves for their craft and for the business side of the industry, and I’ve done nothing but learn and grow to better myself. With all that’s happened and will happen, I definitely owe it to this place.

Best studio I’ve ever worked with!

Im so happy I decided to take classes with the Acting and Voice studios in Greenwich! All the teachers Ive worked with have helped me to improve my acting and work on cold reading. The teachers are all professional, working actors, so you know you are working with people who know what they are talking about as they are experienced. Id highly recommend the studio to anyone looking to take acting classes. I look forward to continue taking classes from them.

I took a 3 day on camera acting intensive this weekend and received a ton of valuable feedback on more than just becoming a better actor. This was my 2nd time going to them and I’m looking forward to the next one

I must say that AAVS is so awesome and not only because you get real feedback from casting directors or learn the ins and outs from professionals but because Sarah (booker and coordinator) is extremely professional, communicative and returns my emails within hours of not sooner. I’ve done several showcases and none compare to this showcase I did about two weeks ago in Manhattan, where I received, good and honest feedback from SIX casting directors that new what they were talking about and were totally honest. Not feeding you “yes man” feedback to string you along.AAVS has a variety of training classes that are not only well put together but also given when it’s convenient and the price is reasonable. I live in DC and I haven’t found the equivalent training here. I’ve found most classes/courses are way more expensive, not as efficient and they want you to sign a contract for a long term. I hate that and if I’m not 100% satisfied, I don’t want to be unhappy and locked into a contract with someone that sucks. Loving AAVS! I take the early bus to Manhattan from Union Station and knock out work or an audition during the day and go to training in the evening.

I’ve taken two classes. Both were professionally run and I learned SO MUCH. Well worth the cost!
