Im blessed to have gotten the opportunity to graduate from this school. The professors here all care and go above and beyond to make sure you understand the material given. And During covid we switched to virtual learning, students and teachers had to adjust. Some students such as myself do better in person. Like Ive mentioned before the teachers and Dean was very patient.

I attended Swedish Institute from 2015-2017 as a part time student. The course work was challenging but exciting and the hands on instructors were the absolute best. I learned so much and felt prepared to go into the real world and massage professionally. Because of my extensive training at Swedish, I was able to get a job at a Forbes 4 Star spa right out of school when I moved to Texas.

Swedish institute is definitely the school you would want to be if you want to have a successful career as a massage therapist because Ive been to other schools and none of them can compare to Swedish institute. Here are my reasons:All The staffs are very nice and caring what ever you are going through they are willing to give you advice ,cheer you up or refer to someone that can help you .Swedish institute financial aid offices are very understanding and patient that they are willing work with you until your situation get better as long you let know them before hand whats going onSwedish institute students are very go getters and friendly wise to help another succeed no matter what and take it from me as someone who suffers from social anxiety i feel more comfortable in this school than any school I ve been to because i was able to open myself to people and networkSwedish institute teachers are not just about making you see the materials that they teach as only to pass but to see beyond that to see what work and what doesnt work for you and also the reasoning behind everything that its essential to know in order to succeed not just as a massage therapist but in life in general and you will learn so much about yourself that you didnt pay attention to before and have that confidence rise up once you make that connectionSwedish institute overall always stressing bout body mechanics and again to what i was referring to earlier about what work and what doesnt work for you is one of it because you will hear them say it a thousand times because thats how much they care about you and wants you to succeedSwedish Institute teachers makes the classes very engaging by sharing a relatable story about their practice or something that will bring more of a understanding of what they trying to teach you as a studentSwedish institute curriculum are very organized and my favorite curriculum is the professional development classes because thats where they go more personal and details with you what can happen and what to expect as a massage therapistOverall Thank GOD im in Swedish institute because i assumed i wouldnt be able to afford it or have the time for the classes but Swedish institute was able to work with me around my schedules and to get me enrolled! Now im in my third semester in Swedish institute only have one more semester left and im having a blast learning about the body and my body overall thank you GOD Thank you Swedish!!

I am very pleased with the education received at the Swedish Institute. As a recent graduate I found myself excelling effortlessly. This school really prepares you and gives the students all knowledge, tools and resources to be a leading successful massage therapist not years after graduating but right after finishing school you are already right at the level of experienced therapists. The clients I am seeing now think I have years of experience from the results and the way my work feels and the information I give them when addressing their case or problem areas. My employers are incredibly pleased with my readiness and professionalism which the school really enforces in all classes. This is due in great part to the amazing experienced and active faculty members we are lucky to learn from and the extensive advanced curriculum in combination with an excellent clinic that allows us to get real experience which has come handy in my current practice. So if you take advantage of what this school offers, apply yourself and being a massage therapist is your calling, this is the best school to go to.

I’m currently enrolled at the Swedish Institute in their Massage Therapy program and wow, I’m having a great time learning! My professors have been wonderful knowledgeable people with many years of experience in the field. They have a passion for both teaching and massage which makes class fun and inspiring. One of my first classes was 100% hands-on practice, meaning I began learning massage techniques during my first term at the school. The science courses paired with the hands-on classes come together beautifully as you learn about the human body and massage all together. I feel that by the end of the program you will feel confident and more than ready to start working as a professional in the field. The school is small but gives you a home-y feeling and a great sense of community. It’s a great place to meet and network with amazing like-minded individuals. I’m so happy to be enrolled here :)

Becoming a Swedish Institute student has truly changed my life. Giving me the ability of believing in myself and discovering the things I’m capable of. But of course with the help of my instructors that helped me shape and guide me to where I am now a Register Medical Assistant. I’m incredibly filled with immense gratitude to these individuals that dedicated their time and patience to teach us and lead us. Their considerations to always go the extra mile speaks highly of not only them but the school itself. From becoming Student ambassador to being in the Deans list I felt like I was really meant for this. Getting hired immediately at my first interview try, I am truly appreciative of the career service team for always being attentive. I feel like now I’m worthy and beyond proud of myself with my accomplishments that I can now show my daughter and my future kids that everything is possible if mom could do it they can too. Great school for massage therapy, they graduate true professionals who really know what they do and how to be the most effective and beneficial to the client. This is a demanding program, you Have to study and pay undivided attention during classes (no phone etc destructions)If you sign up and get accepted to MT program and work during other hours of the day, you probably won’t have time for personal life, not much at all. Just plan accordingly your semester hours and days ahead of time. Also no holiday breaks (except for about 2 days on New Years)But if you are serious about this profession it all worth it, you’ll come out on top of the new graduates that year and have skill advantage to get better employment.Good Luck!

Your education is what you make of it, regardless of the kind of post-secondary institution you are attending (CUNY, private, non-profit, or for-profit). Initially, I attended Swedish because I wasnt ready to commit to a long-term undergraduate program. I also wanted to obtain stable employment in the medical field. My time during Swedish was and will always be a memorable and life changing experience. (Before I go on, I will say, every school will have its bad apples - it is YOUR outlook and attitude towards every situation). It feels like one big FAMILY at Swedish. The instructors all have industry experience and teach you exactly what you need to know to succeed in the real world. They also go above and beyond in helping you do really well - IF you make the effort and show them you care. Instructors Wendy Charity, Maria Sebastian, Dr. Cruz, Dr. P, Dr. Sam, and many others, were very supportive, and knowledgable. The school is also in close proximity to major train lines for an easy commute.

Try not to put much weight on reviews from people who have never attended the school. There may have been administrative confusion for some but everybody knows we all make mistakes. I feel compelled to put in my two cents after reading reviews from people who decided not to attend SI.The school is top notch. I admit that I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount of material that was required to commit to memory in order to pass the rigorous testing. There were always those who had to repeat a semester around me. I was always under stress to keep up. It was very hard. The fact is that the state board exam was relatively easy compared to some of the tests that we took at Swedish Institute. The National Certification exam was quite easy to do after all that we were required to learn. More importantly, I will attest to the fact that even though I have been in practice for years, I still draw on what I learned there almost every day. There are times that I am filled with excitement at the fact that I decided to get my massage degree at Swedish Institute because while I was learning some of these things I could not understand why we were required to know them, but then, low and behold, the need arose and i was able to educate my customers. These instances are a testament to the high level of thorough and relevant training. If you are ready for a challenge, choose Swedish Institute. If you are not up to the challenge, shop around there are easier schools.

Honestly, it was cool for the first week but when youre there for a longer time you start to see that the school is very money motivated. They took out a loan without my permission due to the fact that my fafsa did not cover my tuition, and no one told me until I was leaving the school. If they would have asked for the rest of the tuition I would have had the money but instead they made it as if I borrowed a loan. The school is filled with people who most likely have already been to college and I wouldnt recommend to someone who is fresh out of high school and has long term career goals. I was in the MA program which i believed I would be able to use as a stepping stone but their credits are only transferable to private schools as I was told. Hello! My experiences as a Medical Biller at Swedish Institute were excellent. I must say beginning from the Administrative Staff, The Teachers, the Students, it was a beautiful feeling of family. Everyone was a great motivation to achieve our goals The school is designed to be A Medical facility, with labs, hospital rooms, and massage therapy settings. At Swedish we had to work hard to achieve success. Our teachers made sure we learned, by revising, giving us assignments, projects, work to study for all types of exams. You could feel the sense of education amongst the students. Getting ready for their exams. We even had Tutoring to assist us even more. We wore scrubs to look professional as in a Medical world. There were lots of activities going on within the school, fundraisers, and outside of the school. On the outside, there was the Cancer Walk, the Diabetes Walk and the Heart Foundation and many others. We had Financial Aid, for those of us who qualified.I was fortunate to be selected for the Work Study Program with two different employers. Yes, I worked with two employers. I worked with Matt in the library, as a librarian. Gaining experience and knowledge of assisting the students. Last but not least, I worked with Tanya & Melissa, from Massage Therapy. A wonderful experience. I had to get the classrooms ready and the work ready for the professors and the students.I learned alot. I maintained an Honor Role with excellent grades of As and G.P.A. of 3.97. I graduated with Honors. I completed two different internships. I recently began a new assignment with a Sleep Study Doctor. I would like to express my gratitude to all my special family: Ms. Dosado, Dr. Sam, Tanya, Melissa, Ms. Charity, Dr. P., Dr. Cruz, Dr. Jay, Samantha, Lucy, Ms. Haynes, Matt, and all of the wonderful staff of Swedish who really gave me the motivation to continue and do very successful in spite of the outside stress; I was going through with the sudden illness and death of my mother. May she Rest -in-Peace. Thank you Dear God for blessing me with this one year of Medical Billing & Coding at Swedish Institute. I highly recommend the school to other students. There are more programs, such as Nursing, Medical Assistant, Surgical, Medical Billing & Massage Therapy. I love the school so much I miss everyone. It is time to move on and be successful as the Staff of Swedish has taught us to be. In comparison to other schools that had a surgical technologist program, it seemed decent....at first. There are a few teachers who are truly diligent in how they teach....there are others that are quite absent minded. They give you an iPad because supposeably nowadays the medical field utilizes tech a lot more, yet a lot of the teachers lack basic technical skills(I’m not sure why they don’t have a workshop for the teachers on how to use tech). If you decide to attend, be prepared to sit and wait a while for your teachers to figure out how to display their lessons via slides from the classroom projector......because it can take a while. If I knew what I know now, I probably wouldn’t attend this school, but I’m too deep in to quit now and want to finish the program to get it over with and move on with my life. I do regret attending this school. Go to a community college instead, it’s cheaper and probably more worth it.

A friend who I served, and went to school with, informed me about the wonderful nursing program at Swedish Institute. After passing the entrance and challenge exams, the rest is history.I started the program in January 2018 and finished in April 2019. This was possible by doing two things:(1) Following the advice of the faculty and staff to a) start reading early even when nothing seems to make sense because by third semester it will, and b) staying consistent: every test matters because pass/fail depends on your average.(2) Being responsible. I took the initiative to read ahead because Swedish has an accelerated Nursing program, I asked for help when I needed it (Swedish professors were always there for assistance), and I created time in my schedule to study without being distracted.Getting my RN-BSN/Masters is my next goal. Unprofessional place. First of all, Laurie was very rude and lacks understanding that things come up. She was very rude, judge mental, and belittling. It makes me wonder about their ethics and if they just need the money and don’t care about their students. I received over 20 phone calls from them and this is borderline crazy as I’ve been to two different universities and have never been constantly harassed with calls.

Worst school ever. Administration/Registration/Financial Aid is plagued with incompetence and lack of quality. It is a joke that they are even accredited school. It was like this when I attended in 2001 and apparently is still the same in 2015.
