I had my first and only experience with horse racing in 1980 at Aksarben. I do remember betting on Brazen Bold. Made a few buck didnt play the win ticket for bigger bucks.. Never got a chance to revisit, being back in Texas and soon after joining the US Navy. While in the Navy I had a chance to visit the CC TX Dog track and fell in love with Thunder Downunder, amazing dog. THANK YOU!! for all sports anamial Trainers. You are the heart beat of healthy family fun.

I loved Aksarben, I started going there as a Child, manyyears later I would become leading trainer1978&1979, I had some of the best Stake Horses that ever raced at the track! (Bold L.B. being one of them, he won all Five of his starts at Two, and won bothe of there Two Year Old Stakes that year.) I also trained.BrazenBoldwho won the Govorners.Stake and so many more to numerous To mention.I went on to win races all over the country, Neb,Cal,Ar,Ill,La,Mn.Many Stakes Races! Iam Retired now, but thinking back I truly liked Aksarben the best, back I in the 70s and early 80s when I raced there it was a Showplace with its White washed Barns and lush green grass in front of every barn, It truly was a track way ahead of its time. Its too bad that they did not have Management Smart enough to come up with Promotions, and Gimicks like Oaklawn Park in Arkansas did to save there Track, (Generic Gameing Truck and Boat giveaways Etc.) What a shame.
