My son has been attending for almost eight years now. Our experience has been awesome because it’s been a FAMILY experience! As a family we have encouraged, supported, practiced and worked, cheered and cried with him as we watched him grow from a super hyper, passionate but wreckless and indisciplined young kids to a SUPER HYPER, DISCIPLINED, FOCUSED, STRONG, THOUGHTFUL AND COMMITTED 1ST DEGREE JUNIOR BLACKBELT!!! The leadership is awesome and Sensei Todd and his family are like family to us!!! We love it!!!❤️🥷🏾

Weve been taking our son here for nearly 2 years and he loves it! Its so great to see the same faces month after month, you can tell the staff/instructors are truly invested in each childs success. The curriculum is varied throughout the week so there are plenty of opportunities for him to go which makes the price considerably more reasonable. Working with Nicole and interacting with Sensei Todd truly makes it feel like a family. Were grateful to be apart of such a wonderful group of people.

I really liked this place at first. the price was a bit high but i signed up anyway. within 6 months, price of graduating had more than doubled from $20 to $50 a pop and that was like every other month on top of monthly fee, as well as the constant need to buy more and more equipment that was never specified when first signing up .. i had to stop because i couldnt afford it after a while .. i was already paying $135 monthly for my kid to go .. i think the curriculum is good but it is quite pricey and they lock you into a contract so be aware of that before you join.

My daughter joined when she was 6 years old. We had previously gone to premier for martial arts. CMA was so much better from day 1. On day 1, my daughter was incredibly shy (not normal) with being in a new place. Sensei Todd took her by the hand and made it so easy for her to be involved. From that day, my daughter cant wait to go to class. While she still struggles with talking too much, she LOVES the class and what she is learning. So much that we were waiting in line at Epcot and my daughter decided to randomly practice her block set. I am looking forward to her ongoing development over the next few years!!!! ***Update*** A year later, my daughter LOVES going to her karate classes! She has learned so much which not only she applies in class, but also at school and at home. Master Todd, his entire staff, and especially Ms. Nicole have been incredible with helping develop my daughter while answering all my questions. Even before our year was up, we signed up for another year and cant wait to see our daughter grow over the next year. THANK YOU CMA!

I shared this sentiment with the owner today at the yearly sale but wanted to post it in detail here at the risk of seeming redundant, considering I personally signed up for the classes after seeing the great reviews on google. This place has done an amazing job of bringing together people from all walks of life and the general Omaha area. The community is fantastic. I am in my late 20s and was nervous about joining - thinking that it may be more geared towards children. A few months later, I have made friends through the classes, and each class has dozens of adults from all age brackets and physical ability. Everyone is kind and sociable and willing to help, and there is never any judgment - everyone just wants you to do the best that you can do. The instructors and helpers at the school are fantastic - patient, friendly, but firm and clear in their instruction. I can see that the children extract a great deal of confidence, sense of respect and responsibility, and discipline from the classes. Sensei also imparts plenty of knowledge surrounding the culture and history of karate, so you really feel immersed in the craft. Finally, and most importantly, it is a great workout! I always look forward to going, even after a long day at work, because I know I am doing something great for my body. It is overall a fantastic experience and I encourage anyone who is considering joining, to give it a shot.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with our family membership. I’ve seen the improvements in focus and determination that comes from martial arts training in my kids, and the bonus of our membership allowing us to train along side them makes it a very positive experience for our family. There have been several changes to style and curriculum during our time here as Master Todd evolves his business and his own training, but he and the staff have been consistent in explaining the changes and reasons behind them. I believe that those decisions have been made with the best interest of his students in mind.We especially enjoy the family atmosphere and have made several friends of both students and staff, and look forward to continuing our black belt journey here.

I cant say enough good things about Midwest Tae Kwon Do. The instructors are nice and super helpful. They recognize if a student needs a little more attention and helps them out as needed. Our 12 and 6 yr old have been attending for almost 2 years and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. As a mother of two sons who go to Midwest Tae Kwon Do, I have nothing but positive things to say. I have a son who is six that is in the Little Dragons program who absolutely loves his sport. I have seen such positive changes in his ability to focus, show respect, and just an over improvement in self confidence. My older son is almost 10 years old and he is in the Intermediate I program. He also loves Midwest Tae Kwon Do. Both my boys also participate in weapons classes and sparring. I enjoy watching them learn new forms and master new techniques. Not only are Master Todd and Mrs. Todd such kind encouraging instructors so are all the other instructors. We researched and visited other martial arts schools over a year ago when we were beginning this journey and I was so impressed with the organization and family atmosphere here at Midwest Tae Kwon Do. Thank you to all the staff and instructors for being a part of our extended family. We are so glad to be a member at the best school in Omaha!Danielle W.

My 7-year-old daughter has been taking classes here for about a year now. She loves this academy so much that she wanted to celebrate her birthday party there. Master Todd and his associates put on the best party a girl can have, complete with an obstacle course for her 20 friends, lessons, board breaking, and cutting a cake with a proper ninja sword. That same evening I had several parents inquire about classes because their children were so impressed! Thank you, Midwest Taekwondo!

I dont know much about what makes a good martial arts school but I like what I see here. Master Todd is firm but fair and easily gains the respect of his students. I have observed enthusiasm, hard work and respect from students and instructors alike. The class size gets a little big at times, but they do try to adjust schedules as needed. I like Midwest Taekwando and would recommend to anyone.

Our daughter, Sydney, has been at CMA since she was 6 in little dragons. From day 1 the staff has been amazing! Almost 2 years later, Syd looks forward to her classes and always wants to practice with dad. She loves learning about weapons, BJJ and even enjoys sparring. Her confidence is always high and it shows. She has progressed from little dragons to juniors to black belt club to Masters club and maybe one day hyper pro training. She is about to have her 2nd birthday party and her second advancement camp to focus on what she needs to learn. If you have a young one thinking about CMA, the best story I can tell you is as we were waiting in line at Epcot one year, Syd just decided to practice in front of everyone! Oh yeah, she got a round of applause too :) If we could give CMA a 10, we would give them a 15! Thank you Sensei Todd and team! A special thank you to Miss Nicole for everything you do!

I have never done business with a more uncaring, uncompassionate person. He will act as if he is concerned about your child but all he wants is your money. He will try to talk you into upgrading your contract. Believe me, he can convince everyone that their child is the best. He is a salesman. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS MAN. He is in this business to fund all of his flashy cars and flashy jewelry. It was the worst decision I have ever made in my life to put my child in his classes.

I will clarify my comments here - I am a student and instructor at this school That being said, I recently visited and reviewed a number of Martial Arts schools here in Omaha. My martial arts journey only began 3 years ago, so I dont have a series of friends and acquaintances leading me to this school. In fact, I met Master Thomas Todd at a birthday party. But here is what I can tell you. The martial arts instruction is excellent. I was 46 years old, out of shape and not athletic to begin with. Their program for adults managed to condition me to be able to perform Tae Kwon Do and perform at a high level - to the point where I have several tournament trophies and a trip to Nationals. The program for the kids however is where this dojang shines (yes, Dojo would be the Japanese term, we are a Korean martial art). I know from my experience as a student, an assistant and now an instructor that this school really cares about getting your child, the benefits that you want your child to have.Their introduction session focuses on the portions of martial arts that you need. If your child has attention issues, bullying issues, self confidence issues, fitness issues - whatever - the instructors in this school make it a clear goal to help your child maximize those benefits which are more important to their development.Martial arts based on tradition. And comments about a lack of written materials reflect that to further tradition, most of the curriculum is handed down orally. I will acknowledge that the schools services could use more published information - but that is why I am contributing this review today, I want people to understand we are constantly evaluating the school and the program to meet consumer needs. Its not a static environment, it is a thriving dynamic place.Whether your goals are fitness, self-improvement, competition, or the artistic aspects of Tae Kwon Do - you will not find a program in Omaha that works as hard to benefit its students. Martial arts is not for everyone and everyones journey to black belt is different - but this school will get the most out of your child and wont crush their spirit doing it.In my opinion, we have a good facility, we have good instructors, we have competitive pricing and excellent introductory programs. There might be other schools in town that would work for you, but you should definitely give MWTKD a try before you make a long term comittment elsewhere.
