My son has been attending classes at Dragon Storm Kenpo Karate since May of this year. We have been very happy with the small class sizes, cleanliness of the studio and the instructors attention to each student no matter their level.

My husband and I attended a self-defense class here. It was very informative and useful. I feel adequately prepared in certain situations to defend myself. I like that the steps were broken down into sections. It made them much easier to remember. The teachers were friendly. The facility was very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I took a self defense class this past Sunday. I feel like I learned a lot of useful skills to help defend myself. I liked that the class was broken down into sections and each section increased in complexity but kept the basic components of the ideas from the previous section. I also felt like the basic skills will be easy to practice at home so that if I am ever in need I wouldn’t blank on what to do. I would recommend taking this class.

Best place in town. My son is entirely in love with going to classes here. I recommend it to everyone!They also give you 2 free classes!!! The 101 time they take to work with their students is priceless.

My grandson has been coming to Dragon Storm Kenpo Karate for about three months now, and his self-esteem has changed altogether. He is more confident when he speaks and loves to tell me everything he has learned. This is the best place in town. The owners do love what they do!

I am greatly appreciative of their willingness to work with individual students. There have been many times that my schedule or finances have been strained and they work with me so that I am able to continue my training. The flexibility also extends to the pace of your learning. While they are always pushing me to improve, they also allow me to take the time I need to get the movements correct. The students themselves are very supportive of each other and willing to help one another, no matter the belt.

The instructors here take time to make sure their students know their material and why each part of a technique is important. They arent a feel-good belt factory, or a dance studio with 24 orange belt dance moves. Your strikes better be strikes. Your kicks better be high enough to hit something. If youre off balance, youre wasting time. The focus definitely rests on the self-defense aspects of the sport. The pile of tournament trophies shows how well that real-world focus stacks up in front of judges.

Have 4 kids (plus myself) at Dragom Storm. The instructors are very patient and understanding with everyone. They expect/demand respect and willingness to better yourself which I totally appreciate. They give all levels the same treatment no matter what. Great school.

When I moved to Omaha I wanted to find a martial art similar to the one that I practiced back home. One of the big things I was looking for was the practical application of martial arts for my kids. I did not want them competing in a sporting events but knowing how to handle themselves in a fight. Mr. Hamletts classes are informative, they cover a wide variety of subjects and are inclusive of all skill levels. I train side by side with my children and we all learn the same content. My children are given opportunities to grow in confidence by sometimes leading the class and teaching others. I have enjoyed learning the beginnings of a new system of movement and thought and look forward to more!

I have been training in the martial arts for 17 years and hold 3 black belts. I have been training at Dragon Storm for 5 years now. My son has been training for 4. is The instruction is top quality. Every student is given personal one-on-one attention by the instructors. Classes are run in a non-intimidating fashion so the newer students dont feel that they have to try to rush to keep up with the higher students. While at the same time higher students are not having to slow their pace for newer students. The teaching is for practical real-world situations the emphasis is on self-defense and not sport. The school has a great atmosphere and a great group of people. For the ability to protect yourself and the ones you love you will not find any better training.

Dragon storm is a great place if you want to learn moral values and want to learn how to defend yourself. I have trained at other dojo’s before and so far this ones my favorite. The instructors teach you things that are applicable to real life situations. They also go at a pace that is best for you. They don’t give away belts easy and you don’t progress if you’re not ready. Mr Hamlett is very knowledgeable and a great instructor.

My daughter and I have been taking classes here for over a year. Here the students learn self defense that they can use in real life situations. The instructors go over every aspect of the techniques so that the students fully understand each technique. Testing for the next belt is rigorous and is done separately in a private session with Mr. Hamlett. The student is required to perform each of the techniques and forms, and explain aspects of each to pass. We are honored to be students of Dragon Storm Kenpo Karate.

Mr. Hamlett is very knowledgeable, focused and detail oriented. He makes sure you are doing the technique correct before moving on. Very clean and professional atmosphere.

My daughter has been going here for a little over a year. She loves it. Very informative when teaching different techniques. She enjoys so much she wanted me to join, which I did a couple of months ago. Very fun and informative. Helps you to be more aware of your surroundings and how to defend yourself in a variety of situations.

Dragon Storm has a great set of instructors that take teaching and training seriously. Mr. Hamlet is a fair and understanding instructor with a lot of patience for those willing to learn. The price is great. I appreciate the class days being flexible and for all levels of learning. My son has little knowledge and experience with any martial arts. I also appreciated that Mr. Hamlet allowed him to observe for a couple classes before deciding if signing up was going to keep his interest. He has enjoyed participating and learning how to defend himself and others. The classes have been worth the added activity and keeping his attention.

My son has been training here for more than 3 years now and we are having wonderful experience. He learned more techniques and forms and successfully achieved more belts. I appreciate the instructors Hamlet and Jen for their patience and experience, they will ensure that every class is effective and useful to students. I can just say that they are doing tremendous job and more to go. My son never delivered any negative comments yet, he always cheerful and grasp what instructor says it’s all because of instructors who putting their efforts and making every minute effectively, obviously this brings interest for all students. I want to give 100 stars for this institution but google is allowing me only 5 :). Good job instructors and I wanted to see my son wearing black belt soon :) :).

Ive studied martial arts for 14 years and have been a student at this school for 3.5 years now. You will not find a martial arts school in Omaha with more individual instruction or more emphasis on practical application than this school. The curriculum is 90% self defense scenarios and 10% traditional martial arts. If you want to know how to defend yourself in any possible spot youre put in, this is the place for you.

This place is great I have only been training there for a month or two but they take there time to really teach you how to do the different techniques

Two of my sons have been taking classes at Dragon Storm for about 19 months. It has been a wonderful experience. They have learned a lot over the course of that time. The instructors are great people, and the students are kind and helpful to each other. The price of instruction is affordable, and the classes are available six days a week which makes it so easy to fit in no matter how busy your schedule.

The big man eating his food decided to bother me and my friends who were recording a class project, all of the other stores in Crossroads EVEN THE SECURITY GAURD was fine with us recording, they even welcomed it. Then this man ruins our fun (not recording him or his store) tells us if we are recording we need to get out, literally the most abandoned mall in Omaha, and decides to bother us, a group of teenagers, and probably thought we were up to no good. Not being disruptive or anything. We weren’t recording other customers, just recording a class project. We will be coming back with the camera. :)

I moved here from Dallas last year. I have been studying the martial arts for years and I thought I would stop in and check this place out. Let me put it this way; these are the types of schools that make other schools look bad. He has the perfect business for a dead mall, cheep rent, horrible instruction, uneducated students and no talent. Trust me; look elsewhere…This guy is a joke!

My son love doing karate with other students over there. Good place and the instructor is amazing.

I have to say this place is the real deal. Ive been studying martial arts on and off since I was 6 years old. Im 45 years now and was immediately drawn to Dragon Storm for the style as well as the family environment. My wife and son go here as well and we are able to train and learn as a family. Mr. Hamlett is without a doubt the best teacher I have ever had. Ive trained at 5 different schools over the years and I can say I have learned more here at Dragon Storm in a month then I learned anywhere else. Mr. Hamlett teaches real world situations and real events. We learn practice and effective ways to defend ourselves as well as others. We also learn life lessons as well. Mr. Hamlett is a calm teacher who talks to everyone like a mentor and makes sure you know what you are doing before you move on. He is not the typical loud voice teacher who screams and yells. Hes the real deal. If your a parent looking to enroll your child this is the place to go. You child will learn how to defend his or her selves and their confidence will grow. If your an adult its the perfect place to train as you will always be learning something new and have fun while doing it. I highly recommend coming and checking the school out

I really enjoyed my time studying at Dragon Storm. The instructors are very knowledgeable, approachable, friendly, and serious about self defense. When I lived in Askarben I really looked forward to going to class and felt like the dojo was a real community. I wish I could still attend but unfortunately can no longer go back because I now live in England.

I have trained in four martial arts and earned a black belt in all four, Im also a national champion, so when I walked in this place I had a grin on my face wanting to check this place out, maybe learn something new, but when I offered this master a chance at a sparring match he told me to leave the premises.

I enjoy going to class. Mr. Hamlett is a good instructor who is very informative on why we do the moves and the techniques we do. Kenpo is a good why to train your mind body and spirit.
