We were wanting to get our son who just turned 5 into a class with other kids and an instructor to get him ready for school. My wife has worked from home so he has never been to a daycare and we wanted to make sure he had a good transition to school. This was the best decision we could have made. He has become more confident and outgoing and we are frequently told how well behaved he is and how well he listens. West Omaha Martial Arts, thank you so much!

West Omaha Martial Arts is an amazing place. Our daughter asked to take martial art for her 5th birthday and I reviewed a bunch places and this seemed like the best fit and I was right! For the almost 3 years I have seen her grow more confident, proud and more focus. The instructors are very encouraging while showing the kids what they need to be doing. I love that she is learning a life long skill and is enjoying while she is doing it. We can’t say enough good things about this place and the owners.

I wasnt so sure about my son doing martial arts when we started almost 2 years ago. But man do we love it now. Mr. G and the whole team are awesome! I am also super impress that Mr. G knows all of the kids names. There are alot of them! I have seen Enzo grow stronger and show a passion for what he is doing. I love when he gets called up in front of the group to demonstrate something. So glad we found West Omaha Martial Arts!

My son and I were very excited to try this class as he was on the waitlist for over a month. The first class was very confusing, the instructor/owner Mr. G, only communicated through text and never said come to the first class early, this is what you need to expect, etc. When we showed up, he met us at the door which was appreciated, but then it was quickly change into this uniform and get out on the mat.The class was very exercise focused but martial arts was not a foundation (think push ups, jumping side to side, jumping through hoops, jumping backward through the same hoops, sit ups) - the exercises were not demonstrated, nor were the students actions/behaviors (how to sit, what to say when the instructor talks, etc). This left my 6 year old very confused and lost for most of the lessons. When an instructor would notice he was struggling, they would come over and offer very brief instructions and then move on to the next child. Most of the exercises could only be done one at a time so the kids were often waiting in line for their turn or would miss their turn because it was time to move on to a different exercise. The class was full of kids at different skill levels and there was no clear understanding of weekly focus or what the goal of the specific class was (for example, is the focus on coordination, control, strength?).Mr. G himself is very old school martial arts mentality. He is very gruff and aggressive. If you child has any type of behavioral or special needs, DO NOT GO HERE. My son is very serious and does not like to be embarrassed and Mr. G admonished him and my parenting, because he refused to take a picture making a funny face. He prefers public humiliation instead of positive reinforcement as a teaching tool.

After two years of extreme bullying, my child was left broken and a shell of her original self. The guidance, support and discipline from Mr. G. has helped my daughter grow strong inside and out. Her sense of self confidence and self worth is growing every day. It has truly been life changing for my family and I am forever grateful. I can’t recommend West Omaha Martial Arts highly enough. Sign your child up. You won’t regret it.

I absolutely love Mr. and Mrs. G. They do fantastic with the children, teaching them self defense and preaching fitness. They truly go the extra mile to mentor these children and young adults into leadership. I am learning ATA with my wife and daughter. All 3 of us participate. Its a great experience to be involved with my child plus the huge added benefit of working out myself. I am 33 and a former college athlete but find the workout here to be incredibly intense and rewarding. I leave feeling the pain and gain of a great workout while also learning the benefits of martial arts as well. If you are considering a place to work out and learning to fight.... THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Young or old, this is the place to be.

ATA West Omaha Martial Arts has been absolutely wonderful the 1st few weeks. We decided to get our daughter involved to try a needed fun new physical activity. In just 3 short weeks (unbelievably) we have seen a change in her emotional and physical self. She has become more physically active daily on her own. As well as more respectful during her daily responsibilities. She can hardly wait to get to get to class! Watching as parent, Mr. and Mrs. G do a fantastic job giving each individual student attention. We are thrilled with the results so far and have plans to get our youngest (5 year old) daughter a chance a to try it.

It is so fun. The most belt you will have the most fun at is probably camo belt. You get to do fun sparring drills. Sparring rings and all kinds of stuff. Oh and by the way if you’re reading this Mr.G, you made me more confident than ever. Thank you sir and ma’am for helping me as well as other people. #Be confident and #Be strong.

I signed my 4 year old up for taekwondo and I was a bit apprehensive because he is so young, but he has really surprised me at how well he has been listening to Mr. G and how much he is enjoying the classes. The instructors are very attentive and assist him frequently throughout the lessons and the bigger kids are also cognizant of his development and help him out as needed. The most important thing that I am noticing is that there isnt a lot of do this and do that and teaching by giving oral instructions rather there is a strong emphasis in demonstrating how something is to be done and hands on instructions. I have been very impressed so far and definitely recommend West Omaha Martial Arts.

I have been taking my son to classes at West Omaha Martial Arts for a little over a year. During this time he has learned not only self-defense, but other life lessons like discipline, respect, and focus. Mr. G. the instructor is great with kids and making the classes productive and fun. I always recommend the program to others who want to help build their childrens skillsets and be part of something bigger.

My 8-year old daughter has been practicing TKD for only about three months or so now. These are not skills that have come naturally to a mostly quiet and gentle child. As I write this, I know her kicks could go higher, her squats could go lower, her form could be better and her power can use more boost – and I see her teachers work with her to do just that. The staff is patient with kids, meet them at their skill level and engage and encourage them in an almost unbelievable way. The atmosphere of friendly competition is exactly what kids need to be encouraged to try out new things. However, what has impressed me the most about this experience is something entirely different: It is the underlying message about resilience and perseverance that my daughter has been absorbing from Mrs. & Mr. G. She is learning that some moves don’t come as easily as others. She is learning that when faced with those, she needs to take a step back and try a different strategy at next practice. She is learning that consistent practice and hard work is needed to master a move. As a parent, the real thrill is to see her confidence grow, even in this short time, as she applies those life lessons in other areas: be it working things out with a challenging friend, managing the growing load of school work, exceling in a different sport, trying out new experiences and adventures or even attempting the ever-dreaded math exercises. In a world of instant gratification, to learn that there is no substitute for perseverance is reward itself – higher kicks and a perfect form are a bonus.

The Tigers program for younger kids is outstanding and it teaches them much more than Taekwondo. Mr. G and team, ensure the kids have fun and also learn discipline, teamwork and leadership at the same time.
