We came into the Irish Dance world not knowing much and Declan has guided us through with ease. My young beginners have come a long way in a very short amount of time and it’s all thanks to him. The Magennis Academy of Irish Dance came to our Summer Camp and performed an in-house field trip for us. It was the most fun our campers have had! When you’re looking for a place for your children, siblings or even yourself, you expect the talent. The gall. The professionalism. Many times we forget that there must be heart/passion in what you do.I put my sisters in Declan’s hands to allow them the experience of something known but new. One being an extreme extrovert, the other not so much. Two very different styles and personalities. The way Declan was able to assess, understand and work his teachings to fit their personalities and strengths was aspiring. It is something many in the performance field lose sight of. All I can say is WOW. I have never been in a more inviting and motivational environment. My little nephew has a crush on this girl in class who LOVES Irish dancing so he wanted to impress her by learning.I googled who around me teaches it and guess who I found? MAGENNIS ACADEMY. Declan (our teacher) is so enthusiastic and made my nephew very excited to learn! Applause to him because my nephew was very shy. Declan took the time to make sure that we were learning every step and it meant a lot to me. He really personalized our experience by remembering our names on our next visit and also remembering our story!

Having known Declan for over 5 years, I can attest to what a driven, hard working, talented, and overall incredible person he is. I worked with him at Raglan Road for years and saw first hand what a talented dancer he is. I can not recommend sending a child to the Magennis Academy of Irish dance to be taught under the tuition of Declan enough. Having worked alongside Declan his entire professional dancing career in various productions, I can honestly say I have never met some one more driven, hard working, caring and honest as himself over the years - and not to mention, talented beyond belief as a dancer and performer. You’ll be pressed to find some one with the drive that Declan possesses and any student he may take on in future will be extremely lucky for him to pass on not only his talents and expertise of the Irish dancing world, but all of the personal attributes that come with it as well to help develop a child into a well rounded individual.
