While the school is unclean and some of the administrators are on a power trip there is no other school Id rather be at, Coach Moushami is an amazing yoga teacher and one of the many redeeming features at that school, the chorus program is unlike anything Ive ever had the honor of being apart of, and the opportunities and class choices are limitless. Im happy with the time I spent at Dr Phillips and Ive made memories there that will last a lifetime. There truly is no other school quite like it.

I went to Dr. Phillips Sch. today with a close friend because she was dropping off balloons to her niece. We checked in at the gate, she told us to go to the front by the flag post. Her niece was already outside just finishing up lunch I believe. She ran to us and they started hugging each other. Not even 4 min this lady came to us with rage on her face, the first thing she said was were we fromer students we both said no, were almost 30 but I dont even think she heard us, then you guys need to leave and told her niece to go to the office. Then she stated Im the principal I dont care what you have to say and you need to leave. I was out of words I never seen a principal carry themselves like that, most part not even listening to us we are people just like her. She called for the police repeatedly as if we were trying to cause trouble. In my mind Im thinking this lady is trying to get us arrest, Im a mother that work everyday and just happen to be out going with a friend to drop off a present. This was the worst experience I ever had, I myself will not ever attend anything anymore as long as shes the principal.

Ive been here since 2015, and Ill be part of the Class of 2018. Ultimately, its high school. The only thing that truly grinds my gears is the fact that some teachers do not care about actually teaching us stuff, I mean isnt that what your getting paid for? The bathrooms do tend to be dirty so youre gonna have to get used to that. Im not the hugest sports guy either, but the sports teams here are actually pretty good. Try to catch at least a game or two at some point. P.S. More than half of these reviews are either off-topic, poorly written, or are straight trolling kids from different schools.

Many years ago in the 90s I dated a guy from the school, who would video himself and girlfriend while making out in his apartment...and he would distribute these videos among his friends and business partners. I had to stop in administration at the school, when I returned to my car my old eclipse car had a rear light mashed in ( while I was there only two hours!) When I tried to get the video and write a report,the School Officer told me there are no video cameras anywhere within the Visitor Parking or Administration entrance of the entire school...really!? I give the opinion that I too agree... leadership is clueless and out of touch.They should all know better....Really?!!!

I am a senior at DPHS. Their motto is Never less than the best but its more like Never better than the worst. The only thing DP is good for is the fact that it is highly accepting about peoples preferences. We have an active LGBT club here and we do a lot of community service. If I could rate this in categories, here is how I would break it down, in terms of stars:Education: 2Cleanliness: 0*Staff: 2Student Body: 4Clubs: 4Teachers: 3Schedule: 3Organization: 1Timing: 2Sensibility: 2Interest: 2Principal: 1 (The old one was a 5)Openness: 5Rigor: 2Athletics: 4Quality: 2*Its so filthy, that if the OSHA were to inspect, and it was legal to do so, OSHA would condemn DP.Would NOT recommend this cesspool to anyone at all.

This was a great high school untilDr. Susan Knight was made principal. She clearly has some issues with abusing authority and is incredibly rude towards students, staff, and parents alike. She acts like a dictator, instead of treating her peers and the young adults whom are unfortunately under her “lack of care” with any amount of respect. She also seems to have an incredible paranoia about former students returning to campus, even if only to visit a former teacher or pick up a younger sibling. Dr. Phillips High School itself is a fairly decent school. It could benefit from a more centralized layout, and not every teacher is a superstar, but overall it can be a great place to go to high school. Unfortunately, Dr. Knight is the one major blemish on this school’s current appeal. She’s clearly universally unpopular amongst students, parents, and staff and has even been booed by parents and students alike at events such as graduation. The OCPS board of education needs to take a hint and remove this woman from the position of power that she is clearly unfit to wield before it completely blows up in her face, metaphorically speaking. Ruling with unnecessary aggression and unjust punishments while commanding respect and obedience is nowhere near a proper way to behave, especially around young adults whom are in the process of undertaking the already incredibly emotionally and physically tumulus experience of growing up and maturing into a fully-grown autonomous adult.

This school is really starting to piss me off. When it comes to my child and her education I am a beast. The staff that answers the phones are rude and not helpful. Some of the teachers are just there for a pay check and they dont really care if your child learn or not. All the worried about is money for this and money for that. They need to worry about my child education.

Very. Single. Time. Come here I need to either bring hand soap or Toilet paper! whyyyy? I dont get how these people have over three thousand and something kids. And NO SOAP OR TOILET PAPER! Ugh! They give so much money to the athletics, while the rest of the kids have no soap or toilet paper. Its so gross here. And All these kids/teachers must have dirty bums....And there is bird crap everywhere

These people with hate comments are most likely from other schools trying to prank DPHS. One of the best schools in Central Florida. Great teachers, great atmosphere, and the athletics is one of the best! I am a class of 1997 graduate, and back then kids acted like kids not pseudo intellectuals. This new generation of kids is full of mimimi´s and if you are thinking of place your kid there, do it! I myself, if living in Orlando, would definitely enroll my kids there. I also, want nothing but the best (Dr. Phillips alma) for my kids! :)

The hate rates are stupid and inaccurate, the school is great and NOT SEGREGATED. South campus is called the Freshmen Campus for a reason. BECAUSE THE TEACHERS ARE MOSTLY 9TH GRADE TEACHERS. So all the negative reviews above are irrelevant.

DPs motto Nothing less than the best is a complete joke. Teachers and administrators not responding to e-mails, although there is a county directive. The school campus is vile, filfthy, rat infested and digusting. Excessive teacher absences or they just up and quit. How about that social studies teacher that is painting the football field, instead of teaching. Many of the teachers do not have grade sheets.The VPA Magnet programs are a complete joke and a fundraising nightmare. Looking for your student to be supervised and guided during projects good luck! My students counselor does not know who my student is although he has see them a number of times for scholarship applications and class changes. Leadership at the school is out of touch and clueless. The office staff are absolutley rude, shiftless and disrespectful ! Students are treated differently based on the level of classes they have..ie AP, Honors, Regular. The car rider line will take you about 30- 45 mins. My student will be removed from this school at the end of the year and I pray for the students who are left there to deal with this horrible place.

A group of your students TRASHED Patrick Air Force Base Beach yesterday...littered with dozens of booze bottles, beer bottles broken and unbroken, towels, shoes, clothes, garbage, chairs, grill, lighter fluid...you just wouldnt believe what our turtle nesting beach looked like last night. They are not welcome back.

The teachers never helped me with none of my work i got jumped by a gang of nerds in the middle of the year at the end of my 9th grade year a whole bunch of cockroaches jumped out of the ceiling on to me and started kicking and punching me while one of them filled in my paper with incorrect answers i ran out of the room and in to the bathroom and washed them off just to get my head plunged into the toilet by a swarm of them coming to avenge their fallen brothers it was like roach war ll and i had no raid i sumo wrestled a rat for my lunch multiple times

School is not as good as I was told. My children hardly learn, in most of their classrooms it seems unimportant to teachers to teach them. My daughter has been unable to enter a classroom because the teacher does not appear and even if she asks for help they just leave her sitting in the office. The Esol class to strengthen English seems not to be efficient. Food is not nutritious. In short I was very disappointed.

One of the best 100% schools
