I took the guitar maintenance class back in March and it was awesome. It began with a tour of the facility by owner John and then Nick took over for the class. Both guys are very professional and are very good at what they do. I would recommend any of the classes they offer. Great job guys!

El Camino School is a true asset to the music community in Orlando. From music lessons, to guitar building classes, to great live events like songwriters club and open mic night, this place is professional, fun, and unique. If you, or your child, or heck, anyone you know is interested in any aspect of music, you should check this place out. The owners are local musicians themselves and extremely hardworking and we should support them wholeheartedly!

I called the owner of this establishment on the phone after he was recommended to me, with regards to guitar lessons for my grandson, who was visiting from out of town. John invited us out for the tour of El CAMINO, then my grandson had a lesson with Danny, and when my grandson walked out of the lesson, his first words to me on the drive home were, Grandma, I can believe it was an hour, the time went by so fast.John and Danny were both so professional and helpful with my grandsons desire to learn to play the guitar. We were given a tour of the school, which totally blew us away! This is truly a gem and I am so happy to have met John and Danny. They do so much for our community and I would highly recommend this business to anyone who is interested in music, repair and state of the art technology. My grandson will be continuing on line lessons and he is really looking forward to learning with Danny.Thank you John and Danny for your expertise. Again, this business is truly a gem!Update! My grandson is now doing an hour lesson with Danny. He is progressing so well and is totally committed to these lessons, as is Danny. The school worked it so that my grandson could have an hour lesson, and my grandson is really enjoying that extra half hour.At 14, my grandson is finally finding something he truly wants to do and I so appreciate John and Danny, the school and all the good experience that is offered at El CAMINO School of Music, Repair & Technolofy. Thanks so much! You are 5 STAR!

The school is pristine with lots of space and unique opportunities to learn about working in the music industry. My 11 yo son gets instruction for piano under Brenda Radney. Before El Camino, we tried a few chain music stores for lessons. After a couple years he quit and refused to take any more lessons because of uninspiring and not so great teachers. Now plays piano two hours a day, he loves it that much! I am so glad I found this place!

I attended El Caminos guitar building workshop over the weekend and it was truly a great experience. Nick Scout of Scout Guitars is nothing but the best; he was patient, knowledgeable, and an amazing teacher. His apprentice Julian was great help. From the moment you walk in this group makes you feel like part of the family. John makes you feel welcomed and by the end of class you truly feel like you just made 4 new great friends and you also get to walk away with very valuable guitar knowledge. 10/10

Amazing space where you can build a electric or bass guitar over a weekend and go home with it. Can learn more about your pickups, and also make your own. Beautiful consignment room. Amazing, and nice people who really care about their community.

Have taken two courses in 2021; Bass Guitar Setup and Bass Guitar Building. Both were excellent. Their student workcenter is especially impressive. Even though Ive been playing, buying, restoring, and selling bass guitars for 30 years, I learned so much! Looking forward to taking more classes at El Camino, very very impressed with this place.

I have had wonderful experiences at El Camino. The owner, John Theisen, is a community-minded person who offers a range of lessons, services, equipment, and even music therapy at his school. I started out taking ukulele lessons from one of his instructors, Danny, and after a short time branched out to guitar lessons. I bought a great used baby Martin guitar from the school at a reasonable price. Danny is a great instructor and recording artist who is teaching me to read music and a little bit of music theory too... but if you just wanted to shred, he’s all of that too!! Check them out, you won’t regret it!

I have interacted with El Camino on a few occasions. The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable. John Rainey the repair guy is very good at what he does. And John, the owner, has a great attitude of trying to find and meet the needs of local music community. His fostering of young artists through various aspects of the music business and their arts is outstanding.

El Camino is doing something exceptionally unique for the Central Florida community. Beyond offering lessons, they also offer music therapy, repairs, as well as several tech-based courses, including a full guitar technician class. I was fortunate enough to have taken their first guitar tech class, and despite the hardships faced in the pandemic, it was an experience that provided me with skills and knowledge Ill take with me forever after. Ive now been repairing and modding my own guitars, as well as taking on projects for friends and family for the past 6 months, and I owe it all to El Camino!

El Camino is a valuable resource for the Central Florida music community and they do a great job of being involved in community events. You get the feeling theyre driven to raise the entire music scene, not just looking to make some money for themselves. Thank you John for hosting the Uke Jam last year.

Great staff and beautiful facility at El Camino school! John Theisen and Dakota have great intuition when it comes to helping organize events and we’re available to answer any questions we had. When we held our Ladies Rock Camp there we never had to worry about lack of band practice space, power sources, or sound quality. The performance space had great lighting and sound, and our campers were able to experience playing music on a professional stage. Thank you so much for hosting us this past weekend!

I recently developed wrist and elbow issues from playing a banjo with a neck geometry that didnt fit me. John Rainey, the tech here, was able to diagnose the problem and do the neck work required to make things right. No more pain when playing and the banjo looks even better than when I brought it in. Thanks a bunch!!!

My boys and I enjoy our music therapy sessions at El Camino, with Ms. Melinda. As Medicaid recipients, it can be hard to find providers who work with our kind of insurance and are also accessible and flexible with appointment times. Melinda and the El Camino team have made an inviting and fun space to be in, and we always look forward to our weekly meet-ups there. Melinda is a very intuitive and professional therapist who listens to her clients needs, then builds an individual approach to help them best. Shes always bringing in new items and instruments that spark interest and get my kids or I comfortable with experimenting and using music to build confidence and develop different skills.Dakota and ChiChi have also been really warm and welcoming to my kids whenever one is waiting for their brother to finish up an appointment, which Im very grateful for, especially for how willing they are to let my very curious and active boys explore learning about different instruments and testing out the ones they have on-hand. Theyre not under any obligation to do that, and the waiting area already features a big screen TV and arcade games to keep folks entertained while they wait between sessions, so I know those guys are just reaching out to my sons from a real joy of sharing their love for music with kids. Thanks Melinda and the El Camino team! Im really glad we found this place.
