I’m pretty much a beginner guitar player but when my new Squier Tele couldn’t hold tune and open low E buzzed repeatedly I decided to put some $ to the problems. Rob at the Colonial Ave address in Orlando did a fantastic and quick job with new tuners and setup. Thank you sir! This 63 year old appreciates your great work, great attitude, and great care. It’s not an American Player - that my job to acquire - but if I can finally make this dream of recognizably strumming a song then I’ll be back to pick one up.

Great place to find many items you may need from instruments to recording equipment. My son and I went to buy his first guitar and had a good experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Has a very chill vibe to the place.

I cant recall names, but I was helped by 3 different store associates during my first (and only - so far) visit to the Sam Ash location on E Colonial. Each of them took time to have personalized conversation with me and help me learn about music, different instruments, and myself as a beginning musician. I look forward to my next visit (which might be tomorrow actually) and my wallet is already crying out for help. I will also be asking them about music lessons, which I will post another review about once I experience what they have to offer. I definitely recommend visiting this store and having a fun experience with music!

Purchased speakers but they did not work… BRAND NEW SPEAKERS. Before purchasing, I asked if any additional items were required for the product and the employee assured me no. I went back before the 24hr return period due to the speakers not working and I was told I needed an additional device for it to work. I purchased the additional device for the speakers not to work, still. Needless to say, I wasn’t able to return the item because it was past the 24hr return mark so now I have useless speakers and additional equipment from this store. The employee was rude and spoke to me as if I didn’t have the money or right to be inside the store. I recommend others go elsewhere where you will get great customer service and working products and those that know their craft/products.

Excellent experience. The staff, especially Khalid, is extremely knowledgeable about all instruments within their store. I had what seemed like a million questions and every single one was answered and explained. Their products and selections are amazing. Beautiful store. This place is awesome. They helped me tremendously. I went there because i purchased a used guitar. I needed new strings and a tuner. Then i asked if someone could evaluate my guitar. Rob kindly looked at my guitar. Told me to exchange the strings i just bought. Then he showed me were the bridge is in jeopardy of coming apart. I asked about how much it would be to fix or replace it.He told me not to spend the money. It should last me 20 years i only hope i can. At 71 and falling apart.. But at least i will have a new woman to keep me company so i am not so alone..

Ive stopped in a few times recently to purchase a few high end items and could not find anyone to help me. Every time I ended up leaving and ordering from somewhere else online. Ill get accessories here every now and again but I can find anyone there who wants to help me spend some money.

I went around 6:15 to have my new violin tuned. Pete was wonderful. This was his first time tuning a violin, but he did a great job. I was really grateful that he didnt have me come back for another clerk to help me. Thanks Pete for all your help!

We went to Sam Ash to change strings on my Daughters Violin. We where attended by Khalid E. James. WOW... this young man was a wealth of information. My experience is always very positive walking into Sam Ash everyone there is extremely helpful. The reason for my four stars instead of five stars is that there just wasnt enough employees working at the time I was there. Rob was exceptionally nice and helpful when I dropped off my Taylor for service. I waited about 10 minutes in front of the guitar strings and finally I was able to get some help. My complaint is not a product of customer service just a lack of people working.

I was shopping for cymbals. I went to the section and looked around while two employees were at the drum section checkout. One of them was practicing bouncing drumsticks of the counter.Neither asked me if they could assist.I saw an item I was interested in, but decided not to purchase it do to being ignored.I will never shop there again.

Took my old (70s ) Fender Jazz into Rob (over at Sam Ash Orlando) to correct some basic aging issues with action and such. His set-up was spectacular...tone and output clarity is a dream (rebirthed its mojo)... The man is a wizard... Highly recommended.

Definitely a great selection of musical paraphernalia here.Service is hit or miss, but they tend to be mostly friendly. You get the best service at the guitar desk, so check out there.The store is really spread out and kind of drab/dingy. There are some hidden gems here though, so its worth checking out.

We love going to the Sam Ash in Orlando and have never had an issue. It’s a pretty nice and quiet store. The sales reps are always helpful and they have a great selection of things and reasonable prices.

My son called the store this evening because someone gave him a used Roland electronic drum set and he was having some issues with the high hat and connecting to an amp. I told him that they might be able to help him over the phone.He spoke with Khalib and this gentleman went out of his way to help him as much as he could over the phone. We still have to bring in the drum set, but I was more than happy with the assistance he got over the phone. Thank you, sir!

*EDIT* The man was the manager, and while the rest of the staff and we were wearing masks, he was not wearing one.While the rest of the staff are wonderfully informed and helpful (especially Ricky), we had an older white man with white hair come and stop us while we were trying out an amp. Yes, it was probably too loud, our bad, but he didnt have to be nasty about it.He rushed over saying No, no, no! We cant have that! Its too loud, we cant hear the phones, and its just disrespectful! Not even giving us a chance to ask what was wrong, and correct our actions ourselves. Then he rushed off into some unknown corner of the store.Now, I work in customer service, and I see some pretty mean clients. BUT, you should always politely approach the situation with a civil tone and try to actually TALK TO, not TALK AT your customers. Were all grown adults. If only that employee could have acted as such. Very disappointed in his customer service skills, they are severely lacking.

Treated like an old friend when i walked in! Needed help with a student violin 🎻 after being told to try another music store in the area and let’s just say not having a good experience we decided to try here at Sam Ash Music Store on Colonial. I should have started here first. I don’t know the first thing about violins but after some coaching from the kind and knowledgeable staff they helped me with a student violin for my daughter and even helped me understand the bridge install. Great warranty opportunity offered as well! They are super careful now with C19 too. Great place!! Will be back! 🎶

Went in looking for a guitar for my son and a bass guitar for myself. Having no knowledge what so ever the staff guided us through all the things we would need to get started. At no time did I feel taken advantage of, the staff was cheerful and helpful. They even guided me through the differences between the higher and lower priced options for each piece of equipment, so that I could make an informed decision. We left happy and excited to start our musical journey.

I don’t write reviews very often but I think everyone should know when a company and their staff goes above and beyond to serve a customer. I’ve been a customer of Samash for as long as I can remember. I’m a supporter of brick and mortar stores so I always make my purchases in person whenever possible which is 99% of the time. The staff at Samash make it a pleasure and worth my 2 hour round trip to do business with them. Thank you Samash staff on Colonial for all you do!

Needed a replacement switch for my Les Paul, although I have not removed it yet, and the sales person was great in helping me. Also picked up a couple 20 ft 1/4 to 1/4 cables that work great.

I get all my guitar tech work at Sam Ash, Orlando. Rob Thomas is great at whet he does.

I went to the store today 1/4/2021 to pick up an used piano I had on layaway and Anthony Murphy was very nice to us. But just as we were about to leave came this “somebody” I think his name was Tommy and started complaining about why Anthony sold us the piano (did he have another purpose for the piano than to sell it????? hmmmm suspicious) then he continued complaining because I requested to have the owners manual printed because it was not in the box. Very rude to have an employee embarrassed in front of a customer. Kudos to Anthony. He never lost his temper. I was about to loose it. That’s the reason why I gave them 3 stars. Dump this nobody. He don’t need to be there with that bad attitude.

Sorry to say but service was poor. Nobody knew what plain speaker wire was.they keep sending me to another sales reps each knew less then the last . all i wanted was speaker wire.

It has been a while since I have been in this store. I worked in this location for a store called Mars Music and then helped ope this Sam Ash store. All I can say is it was very dark and dreary. Seems like a cluttered over sized pawn shop. They didn even have basic audio adaptors that I needed. The sales people werent the least bit interested in helping me. I doubt I will ever return to this store. Two stars might be an exaggeration.

I was very disappointed since the first time I walked in here to the store a week ago.I purchased a piano they didn’t have it at this location I had to drive to a separate location.To pick it up.I needed a sustain adapter usually it’s free and they never ordered one for me . I go to the second store they told me they should have ordered it.That’s the first one. Secondly I decided to return my Instrument, I go to the location near my house they told me I can only return if I have my Visa card I know wrong on my part I forgot to get my wallet. However, they advised me to go to the store I purchased the instrument first at they can refund the return no card needed.Well, I drive 30 minuets I get there return my product they say I need my card to do the return. after the other location told me not to. The supervisors all tell me that they where wrong in telling me so that I must bring my card.I drove another 30 min back home to get my visa I come back to the store and the workers tells me I didn’t need to bring my card in . It could of been return automatically since I purchased it there all I had to do is sign.To the cool dude that helped me last bro you did amazing I appreciate you helping me and coming to my defense. How is it that supervisors don’t know anything and their associate knew more. Very sad.Please go to the Sam ash lee road they know how to take care of you!

The live sound associate gave me, by far, the best reach around of my entire life. Did you know that you could use the slide oil for lube? Neither did I! Sam Ash has the most knowledgeable staff anywhere around. My prostate throbs for the next visit to my favorite local music store.

Kalid James in the Orlando Florida store went above and beyond to find the keyboard that I wanted that everyone else told me was sold out and discontinued. Kalid didnt stop until he found one, which to be fair was probably the last of its kind in the country lol. The point is that he tried where others couldnt be bothered. Kalid should get a promotion to maybe a regional manager because he can teCh other managers what is needed for good customer service.

I came in with a worn out jasmine takamine with strings that made it impossible to play. ( The action was too high) The associate ROBERT took one look at my guitar and knew exactly what to do. A day later I pick up my guitar and at first I dont recognize it . Robert went above and beyond . My once worn out guitar is now a shiny black beauty. Im a lil convinced he went out and just bought me a new guitar haha. I had some peeling on it and now its flawless . I recommend you speak with Robert if you ever need to repair your guitar. I have a 1966 Fender Mustang that I want to give to my son that had some electrical issues, making it essentially unplayable. I dropped it off at Sam Ash on Colonial for their tech/luthier to diagnose and return it to top condition. My son always liked the guitar and is now an accomplished player who appreciates its vintage. I received a call from Rob who indicated he would give it a thorough examination and intended to maintain as much as possible the original components. This immediately told me he respected the need to maintain the guitars value as a 53 year old instrument. It took a few days but he was able to repair it. He cleaned it up beautifully and it is ready to continue its life as a playable guitar. If you need work done on a guitar, especially a vintage one, see Rob. For some time my husband had been talking about wanting a keyboard. The wide variety with a gazillion features left him unsure of what he wanted, or needed in a keyboard. I asked for recommendations on Facebook where to shop. Anything can be found and purchased online. But something such as a keyboard needs “hands on” shopping. We were referred to Sam Ash in Orlando, so decided to check them out. And extremely glad we did. The store is huge, and full of everything pertaining to music. A wonderful customer service specialist “Angel” approached my husband to ask what he was looking for. Angel was extremely knowledgeable about the product, he showed us a few different keyboards explaining the different features plus pros and cons in a way that even “I” understood. Angel was never pushy trying to sell us more than he thought we needed. He helped us with a few more items to complete our purchase. It was a great shopping experience. This is a great store. If you need help with any kind of sound or music set ups they can point you in the right direction. I have been multiple times and they are very helpful and friendly. The prices on equipment aren’t bad either. Great location and very clean!

My friend and i stood at the counter in the percussion area register waiting for almost 10 minutes (with workers around, doing nothing but talking but noticing i was there) before i had to ask for help. i know sam ash works in sections (ie: woodwinds, percussion, brass, etc) but people from different areas saw i was waiting and didn’t notify the designated employee. someone from guitars helped me but halfway through my transaction, the employee from the percussion area abruptly came and told his colleague to go to his area. he talked to me almost dismissively as a woman percussionist, asking if i was sure about things i was saying and about the equipment i was buying. that could just be me looking into it, but the person i was shopping with pointed that out to me as well so i doubt it was just me. not a good experience overall.

The store was large and had a lot of gear! I was slightly disappointed with the lack of ESP/LTD stock; they only had two guitars in the store from ESP/LTD, but had a lot of other brands to choose from.Their selection of effects pedals was quite large and I was able to purchase the Boss DD-8 Digital Delay that I wanted. Its a difficult pedal to find in-store, so I was pleased to see it in the case!I spent all my time in the electric and acoustic guitar sections, so I cant speak to the quality and quantity of the other departments.

Had some work done on my guitars by Rob, the guitar tech. Best guitar tech in Florida. Ive been involved for 1/2 century and he belongs on the top 3 ever. I will follow him, like the song, wherever he works

I came in to buy a piano and was fortunate enough to have Angel Espinosa as my salesperson. He was patient, informative, and helpful. I especially appreciated that a young man would deal so well with an over-80 customer! and I expressed my appreciation to the store manager when I left.To date, I do not have my piano since it was being shipped from their store in Indianapolis and was apparently delayed because of the hurricane. I hope it arrives son.

Terrible experience. I waited to ask questions and the guy blew me off. He never got out from behind the counter and really helped. He told me of a sale and I grabbed what I thought was on sale and it wasn’t and when I asked he said the one I picked up was worth the extra money. No help, no interest. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. And when I left he told me I could get a bag for my stuff up front. I gather my stuff, a handful, and when I get to front I get interrogated about showing my receipt when the guy just saw me pay. I am surprised they are still open.
