Orlando medical is definitely the best school around. Great instructors and a fantastic support staff. They are willing to work with you and help you succeed and be successful. If your dream is tohelp others then this is the school for you. Class size is good and you get plenty of one on one instruction and tutoring if needed. Cost is also affordable and they assist with manageable payment plans. Omi is the best choice I have done. One of the best things about this school is that the instructors are actually medics in the field. So you get a real life approach to your education. Thank you Felix and Abbey for opening the path to my future.

As a recent graduate of the EMT program at Orlando Medical Institute, I want to take a second to recognize the staff for all of their hard work. From the admin staff to the instructors and lab instructors, everyone did an amazing job preparing the students for excellence in the field. Even during the shutdown and inability to get into hospitals for clinical hours due to the coronavirus, they worked hard to keep us on track and provided simulations to practice our skills. Thank you to everyone at OMI for your help and your dedication to the students. I recommend this school to anyone looking to enter the field. Im looking forward to continuing my education with OMI in the paramedic program.

The instructors and staff at Orlando Medical Institute have been knowledgeable and willing to answer any question you can think of to ask. Anyone willing to put in the time and effort to attend this school will walk out successful and feel ready to work in their field. The lead administrator, Abby, has a ton on her plate and still manages to work with multiple classes and prepare everyone for graduation. The instructors all work in their field and are up to date on the latest practices in medicine. This school is worth whatever drive you have to make!

Bunch of money hungry people running this “school” looking for their next vacation destination at the expense of students. Called to ask for info about a program and wasn’t given much information, all the answers from the guy were very vague, short & sweet. except a constant “when are you going to be paying the application fee, how will I be paying, etc”. Felt very rushed on the telephone. This place needs to be closed down.

Abby is excellent. She cant always get back to you right away, but always finds a way to do 3 different jobs while managing 3 different class types (emt, paramedic, and nursing) while answering hundreds of questions from her students, assisting the bad apples that cant follow the rules presented during orientation, and keeping Felix in line. All of this while still trying to find time to care for her own family.5 stars. The school is okay too.Put in the work and the school wont fail you, you can only fail yourself.

I had a great experience at OMI. I attended a Flipped classroom for Paramedic school led by retired FDNY Lieutenant Paramedic Hector Arroyo, and the most important thing I can say is that you get out what you put in. If you put in the work, the staff of OMI will work tirelessly to make sure you get the education you paid for. No games, no egos, just knowledge. The clinical coordinator Jessica Sasser absolutely made my year. I have never in my life worked with someone more accommodating or approachable than she has been. My year of Paramedic school would have been substantially worse if not for her kind, understanding, and extremely hardworking and available approach to clinical internship. While I enjoyed my overall experience at OMI, if I recommend OMI to coworkers or friends, my experience with Jessica will be one of the first anecdotes I share. In addition, I would be remiss if I did not mention the Vice President, Mrs. Abby Marquez. Her caring nature and calm demeanor while dealing with conflicts cannot be overlooked. No matter the obstacle, we all knew we could go speak to Abby, and she would help us come to a tenable solution. Knowing that the administrative staff of your school is on your side and truly cares about you is a feeling you cannot put a price on. I definitely recommend this school for those individuals looking for a no-nonsense, straightforward, and rewarding approach to higher education.

I love this school. I took my EMT-B here and had a great experience. With that being said, I am now going back for Paramedic school. Its interesting to see the comment that they only care about the money considering, as a returning student, I got a major discount on my medic school. No other school has the things OMI has. The teachers are well respected and have served the EMS field for years. I have always been helped upon calling or showing up. They even got me my paramedic books early, before my class even kicked off, so I could study. I wouldnt choose any other place to learn how to be a great paramedic.

I’ve been trying to get a refund since Aug 4 and i keep getting the run around and rude emails from Abigail. They said refunds take 5-7 days and now she’s telling me she’s going to make it take 30 days. I should’ve believed the reviews that said this place was a scam and that they mess with your money. I would recommend doing this course at a community college where there are professionals in charge of communications and financials not a family run school where they can chose to do whatever they want to do rather than what the student requests.

First off, i just want to start off by saying that OMI has exceeded my expectations as a medical institute. Everything from the real life ambulance cab equipped in a room with real environmental features, to the help yourself free coffee offered in the mornings to help start the day. Before OMI i had no idea how far technology has come in the educational field. I highly recommend enrolling in this institute solely because of the educational advantages it has to offer, and great instructors who are all employed in the Emergency Medical Service to share real life knowledge and experiences.

The staff doesn’t communicate well with each other or with the students... they’re also rude and very limited on the hours you can reach them. For half or more of everyone’s problems you can’t just figure it out with any of the staff, you most likely have to talk to the owners for any little thing or have their assitants talk to them and a lot of miscommunication happens believe me and the owners are only in for half a day most of the time if they’re not on vacation ... Teachers are great but you can have an A in the class like I did and still manage to fail like I did because of the staff. I’ve had a horrible experience all around. I’ve actually had to LITERALLY PAY***$$$ for their mistakes. I wouldn’t refer anyone to that school. I would’ve much rather attended a bigger school with more organization and more staff that know what they’re doing and more accessible. Believe me it makes a difference.

IF THERE WAS A WAY TO RATE THIS SCHOOL A 0 I WOULD!!! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL THE OWNERS ARE INTO THEMSELVES AND NOT INTO MAKING SURE THE STUDENTS ARE SUCCESSSFUL, THIS SCHOOL IS ALL ABOUT YOUR MONEY. YES THEY FIX THE SCHOOL UP WITH NICE MAC COMPUTERS AND THINGS HOWERVER WHEN IT COMES TO THE STUDENTS EDUCATION YOU COME LAST. MY PARTNER ATTENDED THIS SCHOOL AND TOOK THE EMS COURSE 2X WHY? NOT BECAUSE SHE WAS A BAD STUDENT OR DIDNT MAKE GOOD GRADES, BUT BC YOUR INSTRUCTORS ARE LATE EVERY DAY, SOMETIMES YOU MAY NOT HAVE AN INSTRUCTOR IN PLACE. WHY? BECAUSE YOUR INSTRUCTORS THAT SHOULD BE TEACHING YOU ARE ACTUALLY STUDENTS THEMSELVES IN THE RN PROGRAM THEY OFFER!!! YES THEY SKIP TEACHING THE STUDENTS THAT ARE PAYING HARD EARNED MONEY SO THAT THEY CAN ATTEND THEIR OWN COURSE WHILE THE STUDENTS ARE LEFT TO REPEAT THE SAME COURSE WORK THEYVE DONE FOR WEEKS. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR TRUST IN THIS SCHOOL LIKE WE DID. NOW MY PARTNER IS AT VALENCIA DOING THE EMS PROGRAM ALL OVER!!!

My son went here and all they want is your money. Abby the owner is a delusional power freak who gets verbally abusive if you question her about anything. They selectively decide who will test and who wont test based on her recommendations even if you fall below the 80% required average. Dont waste your money here go to a legitimate training school. Its a shame the state allows predators like Abby to run a bogus school and take advantage of young men and women. The other reviews here with 5 stars are either phony reviews or people she has personally taken care of and pushed through. Never saw such a screwed up staff in all my life.

It is absolutely an amazing school.I took my EMT through this school. Loved it so much I came back for Paramedic. A note everyone should make for this school is that it is what you make it. Honestly this applies anywhere and every situation you find yourself in. YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT WORK IN. However from start to finish the staff has taken care of me. Before this school I was in retail and choose this school to make the change. Instructors gave me quality information and always respected the hard work I put in. Even the students band together and show tremendous teamwork to make sure no person is left behind. That state pass rate is the real thing. All those who took the NREMT with me passed. One of the best things about this school is the staff definitely knows this industry and what it takes to be in EMS. After EMT I got a job with both ORMC ED and AMR only two months out. Even with Paramedic They challenged us with scenarios and even make sure that class really emulates to the reality of the field. It is especially encouraging to know the head of the school Felix, is a current member of Orlando FD. Its great to see your Instructors out in the field as well as in the classroom offering you tips and encouragement. Both Instructor Felix and Mike were apart of FDNY. they both bring a lot of experience in. I can honestly say this school was the best choice for me and it can be for you too.

We have been open for more than 15 years. We offer EMT, Paramedic, & an A.S. in EMS. We have an outstanding pass rate on boards and quality of education is pretty amazing, I must add. Now, we work and have worked very hard to achieve our many licenses & accreditations. After reading some of these reviews, I am grateful for both (good & not so good). I would love to have the opportunity to try to change the minds of all those who were dissatisfied and hug those who were happy with our product. I assure you, if I could I would. I have learned after 15 years of serving, not everyone likes what we offer or how we do things here. Nonetheless, we will continue to strive to be better, respond better, process things quicker, and even try to meet everyones demands. Thank you Google Reviews, we do need you!!!! #teamOMI

I absolutely love this school. I did an EMT program in high school for dual enrollment at another school and it was terrible, I thought I was getting a jump into my career at a younger age and dual enrollment just let me fail. Ive been very sketchy about who to go to because it is hard giving trust to somebody to teach you what you meed to know then letting you completely fall. So I finally looked this place up, I went there to check out the staff and how every was and it was so clean I could eat off the floors, and the staff was amazingly personable. I had 2 instructors, Jesse was our main one and rick was our back up. Jesse was amazing! He tried to teach us in different ways to help us get the material, because not everybody is a book person or vise versa. And Rick is so experienced! He gives the best advice and puts things in a different light, tells us stories on what we are learning. OMI gave us a great real world learning experience in class. Every time I had a trouble with a clinical, whether how the preceptor was or whether I needed to cancel or schedule one last minute, they jumped on it. They really care about the students. Im so glad I went to this school. I was pregnant with my daughter when I did EMT and they checked on me a lot and always asked how I felt. Im in a bad spot right now because of taking my NREMT later than expected, but they are doing everything they can to get me back up to where I should be with redoing my CPR, practicals, etc. They are like a big huge family. They really care. Hell, Rick, Jesse, and other instructors stayed after class with us for a few hours almost everyday to help us study! So if youre thinking about going to school for EMT, medic, nursing, or CPR, DO IT HERE. Seriously, these guys are amazing and very helpful. I cant wait to start school again!

This School IS A MESS!!! A DRAMA FILLED MESS! (to say the least) It is run by a POWER HUNGRY woman and a MONEY HUNGRY Man who have NO IDEA how to run a business, oh and they are married. The Man Felix Marquez Owns the school and the woman his wife Abigail Marquez Runs the school. Felix is your lead instructor for almost every class however he is his wifes sock puppet, and he is never at the school. He jumps to everything he says, and all his decisions are based off what she says. She is completely unprofessional. The perfect word to describe her would be Ghetto and if she doesnt like you your fate is sealed at the school. You will get kicked out; but then you can just wave a couple dollars in Felixs face your good, you can get back in NO MATTER WHAT YOU DID. They have rules and regulations but they pick and choose who has to abide by them. If your in with the family you can do what you want otherwise you better not breath the wrong air. Just look at her response to the negative comment someone else posted. Its amusing how this woman is considered an administrator, her ignorance shines bright in her comment. OMI is a joke and going there would be a waste of time and money! SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES ...You know I wondered why I could not find very many reviews for this school ... well after research and a few contacts it apppears that the paramedics and EMT students were afraid to review or speak poorly on their experiences due to the owners attachments and employment with the Fire department in the number one place all want to be hired into.I attended this school the RN Program after completing and passing 1 semester and paying all the money, I withdrew from the program. I have no regrets of walking away knowing I would receive a real education at a reputable school.Finding out that Florida hospital nor ORMC will not hire you straight out of this school is a red flag. Their credits are not transferable to other schools, they will tell you that they are but they are not. I paid $1600 for 2 online classes (chemistry & math) and they are worth nothing, I spoke to Seminole, Valencia and UCF and they would not recognize them. Now I will take them over at a real school ...a short set back but thats ok. The school is owned and run by a Wife and supposedly the husband with a majority of her family working their. Her father running the desk, aunt running finances, and a teenage girl who is the best friend of their daughter taking on a bulk of their short falls. So when you have an issue or they have a personal issue with you there is no one to outsource. Responsibilities are bounced around with no accountability, straight answers or resolution with consistent delays. They have a person with no bachelors degree that is not an RN teaching pharmacology to a nursing class. Who also shared with us as a class that he was going to be taking the Rn program there at OMI the same program he teaches. Not sure if thats illegal. And if you are considering the bridge program, He also shared with us that he along with the director were creating the entry test to the bridge RN program, to be so hard that all would fail it and would be forced to have to pay for remediation classes that are overly priced. But some how he passed. Also he shared those grades up on the screen with us in the class including his own. Pretty sure thats a violation of privacy. The class consisted of 5 students now 4. So it appears they have to make money other unethical ways. This is just the tip off the iceberg, I didnt even get into the personal issues I have experienced here.If you worked so hard to get to a place like this and are ok with graduating with 4 others in a stained filled hall with a poster drop behind you not knowing your future of being hired at your choice of hospitals, then so be it your decision.I was not paying $20,000 for that.

They promised my son he could test at the end then because he called to confirm that a week before he was going to test ,she wouldnt let him take it. She is the most narcissistic arrogant woman you will ever talk to, with the mouth of a truck driver. All they want is the money, instructors take off and there are no replacements, they rush through lessons without adequate coverage, the owner is a real bit@# and if you dont kneel and kiss her feet she will make your life hell . Anout 30 to 40% of the students drop out half way through the course. Stay away, far far away and dont waste your time or money.

OMI provides EMS education from a real world perspective. The didactic portion is straight forward as it must be but there is enormous benefit having instructors that work in the field today provide you with relative insight to connect the cut and dry didactic to the tangibles of the professions today. The lab experience is the gateway in preparing you for the experiences you will have in the field so that you have a tactile reference and are able to truly be a part of your clinical experience instead of a spectator. Education like all things in life are what you put into them, so if you are looking for adult education where you can push yourself, take responsibility for your experience and utilize the enormous resources made available to you at OMI (lab, library, instructors) then OMI is the perfect school for you. I obtained both my EMT and Paramedic from OMI and consider the school and its staff part of my life forever. It is a business but the benefit of this place is its run by real people that exhibit amazing compassion and understanding and believe in what they are doing. I highly encourage everyone to make OMI a part of their journey in EMS.
