This is my first time writing a bad review.Recently I was stranded as I was trying to tow a car 40 miles to the dealer I bought it from for lemon law repairs (car profusely leaking coolant). I tried to call AAA in Danvers, MA; no issues. They booked my car and it was on the way.I was followed up with a call from the providence headquarters by a representative named Jocelyn, who told me that I couldn’t tow my car because it “wasn’t registered”. I told her that I had already received a tow for the same car two times in the past 3 days of these issues, and she acknowledged that. I also told her that my car is still under the grace period for MA car sales (10 days) and that I had bought the car a couple days ago and the registration was in way at the RMV and that the car was insured. She refused to work with me and just kept repeating herself instead of trying to help me in an already inconvenient scenario.I then had a friend of mine who’s a premier AAA member, come by and attempt to help give me a tow where it’s a part of his membership benefits. Jocelyn then called my friends phone number after my attempt to receive a tow (pulling up information from a separate tow order), and said she was cancelling the car because she “knows it’s unregistered”. She also started to raise her voice at my friend after me being stranded for 5 hours. It was only after 10 calls that we were notified that they can do the tow without the member being on sight.I originally made my first call at 12:00PM, I finally left after 7 hours and 20 minutes of sitting around being mislead all over the place.Thanks AAA, this is what I pay money for.

Less crowded but with similar wait times to Cranston DMV. People behind the counter are friendly but nobody knows what the other is doing, and sometimes give out conflicting information. While they appear to be trying, there seems to be much confusion behind the counter.

Ive been here 3 times and each time was pleasurable compared to the DMV. You may not register a new car but takes minutes rather than hours to use several registery services.Rhode island DMV is a nightmare, even worth it for a one time quickpass for $55.Very happy when they include free notarization with membership for free when I needed it at some point.

I left AAA for different reasons its kinda like a relationship .... They say everything you want to win / reel you in but do nothing to keep you. Especially after loyal renewals of membership my uncle had a terrible experience and hes been a loyal member for over 30 years until his vacation went South do to a flat and poor customer service fromAAA

My daughter broke down on I 195 West yesterday and the response was quick and the Technician Gil Miner was awesome. Very friendly and knew what he was doing. I wish all the service Techs were like Gil. Hats off to Gil Miner

The in store customer service is outstanding. However, the telecommunications customer service was not very informative. Giving a customer the correct information is key to the process experience and satisfying the needs of the customer.

Worst experience of my life. I think the teller was not helpful at all and got feeling she was prejudice against hispanics. Will never go there again was a DMV tell. Tellers in Cumberland are very helpful and sweet. I was just trying to bring plates back for my son who was deployed to Texas and turned his lease car in. I wads told to step outside in cold 3x. I finally was able to return plates left crying and she did not even warm up to a mom who was already emotional because first time my son leaves far for a long time and as a mother I was helping him out since he gave me power of attorney letter notorize that woman said she did not care very very rude. I work with patients and I put myself in there shoes and sympathize with them. You need better staff.

I just want to say I’ve waiting 2 months now for my license that I scheduled and paid for. I spoke to the worst representative that works there. Her name was Cris. She wasn’t knowledgeable at all, showed no respect for my situation and kept over talking when I was explaining my situation. Please review the recorded conversation AAA, because her customer service skills were embarrassment to the company. Please get her the proper training protocols and attitude check or find a better replacement because she’s not Adequate for the job. Now I have to wait again, schedule another appointment and pay for it because things can’t be done right. Thank you.

Social security card in my correct name,tax bill,license,paycheck in my correct name.Birth certificate presented with my birth name still not enough.Marriage license presented in my correct name since 1987 not good enough because it is an abstract stamped with seal of the city and signed not good enough.Should not have needed marriage license at all unless I had social security in another name from what I read. Passport is so easy which should not be in my opinion.Feel like a criminal trying to get a renewed license at 75. AAA northeast did not contact me at all.It was all for show.I now give them 2 stars for their lie

On or about Friday 2/5/21 AAA was called to tow a 2007 Subaru [vehicle], dead on US Rt.1. Located on the south bound side of the intersection (more or less) of US Rt.1 and Rt. 216 (Ross Hill Road) at or near Shirley Drive, Charlestown, R.I.. One single female [Aleka] was stranded and requested AAA to tow her vehicle to Fix-Rite Repair, . After an hour or so, AAA came and took the vehicle to the garage AND left this 60 wife alone on the highway; explaining that because of the pandemic AAA was NOT allowed to give her a lift, with her vehicle, even to the garage [ Aleka had a proper mask]. She had NO prior knowledge that she would need to find her own transportationOn Monday 2/8-21, Aleka got a call from the garage, informing her that she needed to tow her car home; since it required too much money to be worth fixing and the garage needed the space because of the fallen snow.On or about 12:30 p.m. 2-8-21 Aleka booked AAA to pick up her vehicle and take it the 0.9 miles to her home. At NO time was she told she needed to be at the garage when AAA tow truck arrived. The Garage personnel was alerted, by her, that AAA was on the way to them. Meantime AAA informed Aleka, a few times, when they would be arriving ((at the garage)). Again, Aleka was NOT told she had to travel the insipid short distance to be at the garage, by AAA. Aleka waited outside on her front porch until nearly 3:30 p.m. with out any subsequent call from AAA. She called the garage to apologize that AAA had net yet (to her knowledge) shown up at the garage. ONLY then did she learn from the frustrated garage owner, that the AAA tow truck arrived and then left without her vehicle. She learned from the garage owner who spoke to the AAA driver, that this driver said he was waiting for Richard to show up. Richard is husband of Aleka; who are both Premium members but with different AAA card numbers. We were all bewildered why the AAA driver expected Richard ((or anyone)) to be at the garage. The garage owner phoned Aleka of this info, and was asked to give the AAA driver her 401-348-cccc home phone number to call. However, by the time the owner went back to speak with AAA, the driver had driven off. The garage owner was livid, and made the point of how dumb it was to ask/expect the owner of a NON functioning car to somehow get to the garage; which broken car was merely going to the owner’s home. This was especially disturbing, since we were that day informed, AAA’s “policy” of not given people, in need, rides.Aleka had NO ready available ride to the garage, so she called AAA to come jump start her husband’s car. Aleka asked AAA dispatch if this AAA person could also go and tow her vehicle home from the garage. NO said AAA; Aleka would have to make two individual AAA service calls.The AAA driver to jump start the car, went to the wrong house. Upon his final arrival he convinced her she had to pay some $185 for a new battery.By the time of day, on Monday 2-8-21, the car was up and running for her to make it to the garage and meet another AAA tow truck to arrive; the garage was closed. We felt that this might be the case, i.e. too late and when booking AAA for the jump start asked AAA to inform the “battery” AAA guy to please get what ever signature was needed, from Aleka, then and there, to save her the trip to the garage. AAA said NO. Note: the garage was only 0.9 miles [Google Maps] down the same road Aleka lived on.Next day 2-9-21, Aleka booked another AAA tow of her vehicle from the garage to her home; she also managed to meet the AAA tow driver at the garage. The driver delivered the non-functioning vehicle up into a plowed blacktop alcove which was just to the left of the entrance to the residential driveway. AAA did not get the vehicle as far in the alcove as desired, it was never the less not blocking the driveway entrance. AAA drove off. Date 2-13-21 the disabled vehicle parked by AAA, has moved to completely block the entire residential driveway.We are asking AAA to URGENTLY unblock our driveway.

I have been to this location 3 times for assistance in the past few monthsEach time I have found the person working the table to be very rude and acts as if I am bothering her by being there needing assistanceI had called in to confirm what I needed before I had gotten there and what I was told on the phone was completely wrong.I had tried to explain to the person working the table out front that I had done what I was told to do by the person that I had spoken to but she didnt want to hear it.I find the people working at the registry of motor vehicles to be easier to deal with and will do so in the future.

Took me 4 calls for someone to get me in the system. Everyone was rude. Lady got angry with me said i cant hear you on speaker she was on the Normal phone mic... than my scheduling was entered with the wrong number. I had to can back 3 times after to get someone out to me. Seemed deliberate. The 2nd person never even helped. Answered left me on hold for 12 minutes. Took 45 minutes of phone call to be scheduled

Called AAA on Aug 11th, 2020 at 8:38 pm for roadside assistance as my car was broke with passenger side axle and its in between the road blocking both side traffic. So after all the detailed questions and answers with the agent for 18 min on call. However, she was rude to me & Im not satisfied with the service. She gave me an estimated time of wait till 8:49 pm. Nobody showed up till 09:25 pm and no message of tracker or pickup EST. Called again at 09:25 pm waited in the queue to get the update for another 13 min which is ridiculous just to get an update. The new agent said that there is no update as nobody has picked up my request so I have to wait more and I will get a text of pickup tracker. After some time out of sudden, a AAA truck showed up saying its for me I got surprised and scared if its for real for a scam. However, I believed in him and the truck driver had a very good knowledge of how to take care of such a situation and helped me an appropriate way in both pickup and drop off as well. Highly appreciate his help in these circumstances. But I am very disappointed with the AAA customer service. This is not the first time I have called AAA for help, but this was the worst ever. AAAs service is always perfect without any issues but this time I was not expecting such a careless service from them. I totally understand the situation with this pandemic as we follow all the rules and regulations from AAA. However, I wouldnt suggest this type of service from AAA to any of my friends and for sure I have to think before renewing my service account for next time. Please call me so that I can explain it better about this scenario to maybe improve the customer service in the future. Thank you.

I called in today to renew my membership, I spoke with Rob Thrasher in customer service. He was tremendously helpful and enthusiastic. He took care of my issue quickly and provided additional information about my membership benefits that is extremely helpful. He acknowledged my long standing as a member. Rob followed up with an informative email that I can use a resource. He is pleasant, helpful and has a great sense of humor. It was a pleasure calling in and working with him. I’m so happy that AAA has such great customer service representatives!

I spoke to a Customer Service Representative . His Name is Rob Thrasher and we were renewing a gift membership. He helped me by discussing the donor #, which would simplify my future calls and inquiries. He also discussed the new initiative for those in the age group of 13-16 years of age. I signed both of my grandchildren up. Eric is 16, going for his license and Luke is 13. He explained how the program worked and the benefits of adding them now. If I hadnt called and talked with Customer Service, I would have missed out on this great opportunity. Some people do a job and that is all it is - a job. That is not the case with Rob. His actions and dedication to his job proves that he cares a great deal about serving the customers. He was very knowledgeable and extremely professional. We live in a world where people, in general, only talk about the bad. Well, this is one of those GOOD case examples, which could be used as a training tool for the new Customer Service people. He was awesome. Please convey my sincerest thanks and appreciation for all his efforts. One more thing - it was most definitely a 5 STAR job!!

I was getting ready to go on a long needed trip and realized my AAA cardmight not be up to date, as I couldnt find it! Rob Thrasher helped me outby sending me a temporary card so Id have it the next day. I had calledbefore that but the card didnt print the info, so I called back and got Rob.He stayed on the phone while I tried to print and was very patient. Then Iran out of computer paper, but he gave me all the numbers and e-mailsI needed in case I couldnt print. Had a great experience with Dylan from the Fleet department from the Providence Fleet, after other towing companies did not or were not able to get my car in the flatbed Due to the Xdrive DYLAN went out his way on the pouring rain and was not satisfied until the job was done and the car was drop off at the mechanic safe and sound. I had man named Dave train me and took me for my road test. Waiting 3 hours in a dark crime infested parking lot on a calm night without any communication is horrendous service. They do not care. A vehicle parked 3 space down from ours was serviced by AAA in 1/2 hour, disorganized and poor service.Good Sams here I come.

I had a rather complex problem with my membership record, which was caused by multiple events and was making it impossible to create a login account on line, plus I needed a new replacement card & to return my husbands name to the account as an associate member. Slowest customer service on the planet. No communication. Was there to buy cinema tickets and waited 24 minutes because instead of alternating between dmv and membership lanes. The rep took 2 dmv people prior to me. Just a heads up you will have a long wait for even the most simple requests.

I visited the Triple A Headquarters in Providence to renew my drivers license. Never visiting this branch to get my license before I was pleasantly surprised. The greeter behind the desk was super courteous and very friendly. Once sent to the counter I was greeted by Annette the customer service person who guided me through the process. She was extremely courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I dont think the whole process took more than 10 minutes. The powers to be at AAA should be extremely proud of their customer service people. I never imagined saying that it was a pleasure to renew my license.

I recently went to the Triple A Headquarters in Providence to renew my drivers license. The experience far exceeded my expectations. I was greeted by a friendly director and sent to the counter to renew my license. The customer service person, Rosa, was courteous, efficient, knowledgeable and fast. I was out in no time with a temporary license and just this service alone has convinced me that being able to have DMV services far outweighs the cost of my dues. Keep up the good work!

Recently I stopped at the AAA Providence Headquarters and asked a clerk to help and get me some information on Woodstock, VT. I needed it for the planned trip to this area. A clerk was very polite and offered me a Took book and maps on Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. This literature was very helpful and I used it during the trip.Thanks for the help.

Took care of renewing my car registration and AAA membership in less than 10 minutes. The attendant was great and very helpful. Luckily we were eligible for upgrade with AAA so took advantage of it as well. In four years with AAA have never had a bad experience.

We are planning a trip to Lake Placid so I called AAA and requested a triptik and maps. The person I spoke to was very polite and thorough. She asked about all my needs and told me that I would receive the maps in a few days. The very next day I got an email saying that my maps were prepared and would be sent out that day. The next day I received the maps which are a great help. Very quick and efficient.

I have been to the AAA Headquarters in Providence twice in the last month. I was truly very pleased with the service. Once I went for my license. They were so efficient in seeing that that procedure was done quickly and efficiently. Next, I went for my registration renewal. Between the time we went in and returned to our car, barely 20 minutes had passed. As the saying goes, who could ask for anything more. Thank you all at that site. The young lady that was the DMV rep helping people was extremely rude and uninformative! There was the same issue with 4 customers before me, which made it so she could not be of any help at all. Causing myself and the 4 before me to have to go to the DMV anyway....so it was a complete waste of time to go there. Thinking you could avoid the DMV riff raff....not so much! My issue was cut and dry, proof in my hand and because it was incorrect on her and there is nothing they can do? Some people dont have the time to just go to the DMV and theyll straighten it out. Thats the whole point of going there in the first place. I never had these issues at other locations, i moved and that was the closest so i figured itd try out. Bad idea

AAA is the worst, they just want your money people!!!! They have no loyalty to their customers or employees, typical corporate structure in that the guys at the top make good money to do nothing and all the people who work hard and get their hands dirty get paid in peanuts... We pay triple AAA just to avoid the hassle of going to the dmv, this location turned into exactly the same thing, there is no difference. They used to be good at handling dmv transactions because the maximum waiting time used to be 15 minutes and you were out, there was no sitting down having to wait. Now they completely changed the layout and process, you have to wait in a long line just to be told to sit down and wait at least an hour so they can help you with your transaction. They have 2 tellers who take their sweet time to call up person by person, we had to wait over an hour for a 10 minute transaction.

Beware of bait & switch on AAA auto loans!!!!! Harold Espinales offered one rate and then raised the rate when it came time to sign. He seems to get easily confused and is also terrible at answering the phone, returning calls, and replying back to emails. You will do better off just using a local credit union (which is what AAA tends to use anyways). Just find one with a good rate/terms. You may have to become a member but there are many ways to do that usually. Good luck!

Agree with most responses that the DMV is now a better option. They are understaffed for the amount of AAA customers they now have. Average wait times for DMV services is around 1.5-2 hours. I’d suggest going to the DMV , they’re certainly faster at this point. I’ve been here 90 min still 4-5 people ahead of me.

Thank God Im a member. It took less than 15 mins to renew my license. People were courteous and very friendly. I recommend this office to anyone of my friends & family members. even my co-workers. Its worth being a member.

Very poorly organized customer service at the main office in Providence. Have all customers form one line regardless of need - DMV services, movie tickets, etc...Only one person at the customer service desk and one at the DMV section. During the holiday season, they should be more organized - and customer friendly. Waited almost 30 minutes in line. Will not go back to this branch.
