There are so many reasons why this gym is the best martial arts in Reno: the overall sense of community amongst the families and instructors; the team provides the best advice in bully prevention and boosting confidence through physical fitness; and it doesnt hurt that they are one of the top ranked schools in competitive ATA (taekwondo) tournaments. Kids have the best after-school activity while adults can be fit and learn how to protect themselves. Im so glad Im back on my black belt journey with this team.

The family is great, they are so constructive, place smells great and is most certainly clean to the T. Lots of help for the kids. I love that respect is the basis. My son had a blast and the prices are great! I cant wait for next week already!

My 3 daughters and I have been students at ATA Cancinos Black Belt Academy since February 2019. Mr. Cancino and his instructors are very dedicated. Even during this crazy pandemic, I am amazed at how committed they are to teach and motivate us through zoom and covid safety protocol abiding in-person instructions. I am very grateful that my daughters and I can look forward to the classes and keep ourselves in shape. If you are shopping around for a martial art classes to join, look no further. You wont find anyone more dedicated and motivating than ATA Cancinos Black Belt Academy.

An awesome school with an amazing staff. Every instructor is so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. You really get the feeling that teaching martial arts is life to them and just not a job. If you are thinking about taking martial arts or putting your children into martial arts you will not find a better school.

My son enjoys it, very focus, very intense, even loves watching various styles of martial arts movies with me (thinking he maybe Bruce Lee / IP man incarnate). Besides that, the weapons they like to force in their training regime are inadequate, inappropriate, especially the use of Kamas. You dont carry these items within public, nor to school, nor to an airport, an utter nonsense to teach other than take up time, monthly time you pay for this type of schooling, lost pay.Defensive & offensive maneuvers are best to learn as is taught in military / guerrilla warfare (even by Ipman (Wing Cun) / Bruce Lee (Jeet koon do) himself); hence 4.5 Stars given. Its there, but not all there.

Ive been to a few other martial arts places and I can honestly say that the quality of instruction here is beyond all others. Not only do the students that train here place well in tournaments but they also learn fantastic leadership skills. The instructors really love teaching their students and emphasize confidence and humility when theyre instructing. The school is always really clean and everyone there is very friendly and family oriented. I would highly recommend this school to everyone. Adults and children alike.

Our daughter has been a Cancinos student for a little over a year now. Its amazing to watch the change in her life at such a young age. The level of respect she has learned along honesty, discipline, loyalty and all the other life long lessons she will keep with her forever is all because of Mr. Cancinos and his staff! We love these people and are so proud to have them a part of our lives, especially our childs life. Thank you, sir. It is an honor to be a part of such a phenomenal team!!

We have been with Cancino’s for over 3 years with all 3 of our children. We love it because it does not just focus on the martial arts aspect but also talks about communication, belief, respect, self-esteem, discipline, and honesty. They also talk a lot about grades and listening to parents each week. I am a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a kid and I am glad that I have Cancino’s as part of my village.

If I could give this school any more stars I definitely would! Ive met so many amazing people and have learned many amazing life skills including leadership and self-esteem. The school is extremely clean and the staff are world class instructors.

Cancinos Black Belt Academy is not like any other martial arts school that I know. I have been doing martial arts at this school for two years now, and more to come, but I absolutely enjoy my time here. The students learn so much by the instructors and I extremely like how it is really on our pace that we move up in rank. Everyone from the students to the people watching during the classes are going really meet great people and become really close to everyone. The school is like another big extended family to everyone. I would also like to include that, for me being involved and active with ATA Cancinos Black Belt Academy, there are opportunities for the students who are still in school to be themselves and get benefits for school which is offered by the American Taekwondo Associations. I received a scholarship for college because of being affiliated with the school and ATA. This school really has its benefits for all ages. I would highly recommend ATA Cancinos Black Belt Academy to all ages, families, and individuals. They will welcome you with open arms.

When it comes to self defense this is a good school to learn. They have an intresting program. The owner of this branch is good. Subordinates are bad in a sense of disrespectful.The service went bad cause of the subordinates.I maybe 1 of 10,000 who got the bad experience after almost a year but still theres always the first.This is a new review for them.

Its a wonderful place to meet good people. You learn self control and self defense. I wouldnt recommend any other place or people to train with. I would also highly recommend ATA for kids.

This place is amazing, wow!!! cant say enough about ATA and the staff. I have been to a few other martial arts and a boxing class here in town and NOT one of them is like this one. This place is super organized super clean and the staff is sooo nice. They treat everyone with respect does not matter if its a child or not we all get treated with respect. Also wanted to mention that each instructor will and I mean will go above and beyond to teach you. No one gets left behind. I take my 8 year old son and sit and watch him and they are always watching everyone and everyone is involved in every task. They are as strict with the grown ups as they are with the little ones. Thank you so much ATA for this amazing experience my son is always looking forward to coming in to class. The best school ever! I have seen a big change in my son in such little time. You guys are amazing and the happy and friendly energy we get from you guys everytime we come in rubs off on everyone. Keep up the amazing work!!!!

Love the atmosphere in the do-jang! My kicks have improved significantly! Instructors are very helpful and expects highly from each and one of the students. Teaching/learning bully prevention and life skills is what I believe we need now a days. For the little ones. Nothing but all around respect, geniorsity, and hard work comes in and out of the do-jang! Great place to learn martial arts and/or lose weight!

ATA Cancinos Black Belt Academy is absolutely wonderful!! Mr. Cancino, Ms. Cancino, Mr. Dayao and Ms. Dayao are the best instructors around!! They are professional, patient, fun and dedicated to their students. Grace has learned so much about confidence, respect, honesty, discipline, self esteem, communication and perseverance. She has become more confident and disciplined in all aspects of her life. She hopes to become a black belt leader one day!!
