Long overdue review. I needed a new career direction back in 2018 and New Horizons delivered in a big way for me. Theyre extremely cool with helping veterans getting into a new civilian career. Their classes are engaging and do a great job of explaining the material. Because of NHCLC, I was able to land my first tech job since I got out of the Navy and now I work as a PC tech with UVA Health System. Their career counseling was top-notch. I dont think I would get to where I am today if not for them. Please consider giving them a look if youre trying to break through into the IT field. Youll be glad you did.

Thanks to New Horizons Computer Learning Center I was able to transition from my military career into a great IT Career. The staff has been extremely helpful in helping me work with VA to help get funding for my classes. Being outside the Richmond area New Horizons has been able to provide an online medium to attend classes without having to travel over an hour every day. New Horizons also has a near sure-fire pretest screening method to ensure that its student pass certification exams. After obtaining my Security+ CE and Network+ CE I was able to almost right away get a job in the cyber security field.

Being a mother with a busy schedule, I found New Horizons to be a great training center, where both knowledge/ hands on training was transferred to me. And haven gone through other training centers, I saw a huge difference when I joined New Horizons in Richmond, not only did I receive the training, I also got job placement. Thank you New Horizons team!

The instructors are very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot during my time there. The only reason I rated them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of my experience with my salesperson, Mr. Layton Clark. I was shown jobs during his sales pitch that paid $80,000+/year, but ended up making MUCH less ($15/hr). I feel that his sales pitch is dishonest, and would have much preferred to be told the truth up front.

New Horizons changed my life. As a transitioning Marine I was struggling to figure out how to kick start my career. With a family to support and bills to pay and going from Active Duty to the civilian workforce, I knew college and a degree would not get me employed fast enough. One day Mr. Layton Clark from New Horizons reached out to me, I took a look at the school and gave it a try to prepare me for some certifications. The instructors were excellent, the curriculum was easy to follow for me, and at a good pace. They prepared me and gave me the materials I needed and now I hold CompTIA A+, Security+, and Certified Ethical Hacker. I plan on revisiting New Horizons should I ever need to prepare for another certification. Thanks to New Horizons CLC of Richmond 5 years ago, I am now making more money than I ever imagined I would. Ive been employed in 5 positions since attending New Horizons with each role an advancement/progression in my career and am now a Sr. Security Analyst. I highly recommend New Horizons for anyone looking to jump start their career like I did in Information Technology. It is also a Veteran friendly place!

I researched and read many reviews for classes that would teach me in the field of IT. Similarly, any less-than-stellar reviews from different locations you read online can’t be generalized to a specific locale. New Horizons in Richmond, VA was the BEST decision I’ve made. Mr. Todd Graves, Education Consultant, is very timely, honest, and informative about explaining the school, classes, and tuition options. Remember to ask for TODD GRAVES!! The professors are all very knowledgeable and straight-to-the-point with study materials. I really enjoyed when they share their personal experiences (priceless learning aids) which often can’t be obtained through books. The staffs are all extremely helpful from studying/preparing for certifications to recruitment/employment. Importantly, the whole staffing members are very courteous and professional. The classrooms are spacious and as comfortable as it can be for a learning facility. In general, everything will be provided for you to succeed but you must be self-motivated for it. Making a career change is one of the most difficult decision I had to make. Going from a stable job to a full-time student with many uncertainties. However, Mr. Graves was there throughout the process. Moreover, I know this is what I want and where my hopes and dreams resides. I foresee myself continuing my career and business with New Horizons at Richmond, VA.

New horizons is a great place to jumpstart your knowledge base. I got it of the navy last summer, and despite having a computer Science degree, i had no certifications - which is what employers are really looking for these days. New horizons was the perfect place to fix that. The staff/career counselors are very helpful and proactive, and the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and engaged. I have passed every test I’ve attempted following my enrollment in the program. The classes are competitively priced as well - certification instruction is always a little on the expensive side, but you should know that going into it. All in all, new horizons is a great place for both the novice as well as the intermediate I.T. hopeful to gain the necessary certifications for their career.

Hands down the most professional and well equipped IT training program in the nation. I am a former Army Veteran with absolutely no experience in IT whatsoever, after 6 months in the training program i was able to acquire two of the most sought after CompTIA certifications , and was offered numerous jobs in entry level IT positions before i could even finish the program. Their instructors are some of the most knowledgeable in the field and their support staff is extremely competent. If you are a veteran and unsure where to begin to start a new career in IT NHCLC will be the advantage you need.

The team at New Horizons in Richmond VA always made me feel at home from the first day I signed up, till this day. Mr. Todd Graves and Mr. Layton Clark have ensured that I had all the tools necessary at my disposal to ensure a smooth transition from an active duty status to a fully CompTia Certified professional. Miss Williams, N. always ensured I was on top of my studies with an active passion for students and their ability to succeed. JR, Doris Bridgeman, and the team at new Horizons (including the amazing instructors) have paved the way so that I may start my career in the information Technology field. I can honestly say that without the help of the team, I would not be where I’m at today. Leaving the Military Armerd Forces was a difficult transition. The New Horizons family made it feel seamless during the process. I would whole heartedly recommend this team of amazing professionals to anyone looking to transition to a challenging and growing field. I’m proud to say that I’m part of the New Horizons family! Thank you.-J. Inoa
