Neither my partner or I have any dancing experience. We signed up for the intro class to see if we’d enjoy it and to get out of the house. We LOVED it!! Everyone was so sweet and patient. Communication with them was easy, and they are very flexible. Ended up signing up for 6 more classes that day! Can’t wait to go back for our next one!!

I wanted to take classes to learn more about dancing so that I could be better equipped to dance on the spot with someone if they asked me to. I like to dance to different styles, and as I discovered, I actually learned there were some styles I liked a little more than others. I had Ashley as my instructor, and she was super helpful in one-on-one instructions and pointing out things that I responded best to. While I can be a social butterfly, I have my shy moments, and she was just right for bringing me out of my shell. I would recommend people give it a shot if they’re thinking about it.

My wife asked if we could take lessons for the fun of it at AM Richmond. I was not sure what to expect but was really surprised at how fun it is. Ashley, Jumarcelon and Jennifer have all been incredible instructors and weve made huge progress in multiple dance styles. We really feel like we can actually dance at an event once they start happening again, which is something we never did before - especially me. This gives us something to do together as a couple and its great learning and improving together on the ballroom floor.

Arthur Murray – Richmond is a fantastic studio. The owners and overall environment are friendly and fun. The studio is extremely nice with plenty of space to move around. Ashley is a fantastic instructor (and owner) who really takes the time to tailor your lessons to what you want to learn, rather than checking boxes off a form. She took us from unsure of what to do for our first dance to being able to confidently move around the dance floor with plenty of variations to the basic steps in a matter of weeks. If you’re looking for a place to start, or get involved in, dancing, I would highly recommend checking them out!

We started taking dance lessons to learn a routine for our first dance at our wedding, but have gotten so much more! Ashley, Jumarcelon, and Jennifer are incredible instructors and teach you the basics and how to dance to any music at any event. The group classes are high energy and a ton of fun and private lessons serve for the perfect date night! They are taking amazing precautions with covid to make dancing safe and fun. I highly recommend taking dance lessons here! The thought of learning how to dance seemed stressful until we learned how fun it could be with Ashley. She truly breaks the steps down to make it easy enough that anyone can do it and has different approaches for different students needs!

My fiancé and I have been taking dance lessons here for the last few months and we absolutely love it! Everyone on staff is super friendly and really knowledgeable. We’ve learned so many different dances through both the private lessons and group classes.With covid they’ve been especially thorough about masks and hand washing. Group classes are socially distanced and everyone has to wash their hands on arrival, hand sanitizer is passed around and you only touch the person you came with (if there’s touching at all). We’ve had a really great time! Would definitely recommend

If you have ever wanted to learn ballroom or just how to dance in general, Arthur Murray is the best. I have been studying ballroom at Arthur Murray for six years and when I walked into the Richmond studio they exceeded my expectations. The studio is spacious and comfortable. The staff are all highly trained, certified instructors and I have a great time dancing with them. If you are in the Richmond area and looking for a place to learn to dance that is fun, this is the place!

Great studio, highly recommend the instructors. Owners are welcoming and great at what they do. Good place to learn how to do various ballroom dances. Plenty of room to move, good sound system, nice facilities. Focus your private lesson on the dances you care most about, and then supplement across the board with group lessons.

Ive really enjoyed learning how to dance at Arthur Murray. I signed up not knowing how to dance at all, but after attending lessons and practice parties, I began to feel confident. Its also a good way to make new friends and you dont need to have a partner. Jumarcelon is a really good instructor who is good with both newcomers and experienced students. I highly recommend taking lessons with him!

I can honestly say that dancing has changed my life. Nothing makes me feel as alive as when Im dancing. Do it! Do it! I promise you, just go do it! It’s like 35$ for your first lesson. Go try it if nothing else! Ashley, part owner of this location, has been my dance teacher/instructor. I cannot begin to explain how much fun it is to learn and conquer certain dances. From group aspect, to personal lessons, you will become confident in whichever dance style you’d like. Expense is hard to overlook, but how much do we pay each year to have Netflix, internet, Hulu, Cell phone data plan... Just to sit at home on the couch by ourselves, or with our significant other? The entertainment, and skills learned with these guys are a one time cost and they do not go away. We can dance a lot of places, and for the rest of our lives! Who wouldn’t want to be awesome at dancing? Spend the money, take 6 lessons, and go take your sweet heart out dancing. I can promise, you will not be disappointed.

Ashley, the owner and one of the head instructors at Arthur Murray Richmond, is one of the biggest inspirations for why my wife and I started to dance. We started working with Ashley about 2 years ago when trying to learn to dance together for fun. Before that we only danced in the kitchen and our only foray into dancing in the wild had been widely unsuccessful. But thanks to Ashleys patience, hard work, and extremely fun attitude about dancing and about life, we managed to learn swing, two step, waltz, cha cha, and some latin dance.
