My sister and I have been dancing at this studio for a few years and competing as well. We’ve had great experiences here and have met some amazing life long friends here. The faculty is always really easy to get along with and they value human emotions and expression, not just producing “perfect” dancers... I would recommend this studio to people of all ages and ability.

Coming to you from a long time student of the Artistic Director of the studio. She helped me to find my passion for dancing, she helped me to grow into the performer I am today, but most importantly into the PERSON I am today. This isn’t just a business, this is a family. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BEING AT BARRE NONE! The family I have here is beyond amazing! I love being at the studio, it’s honestly my second home! All of the instructors push me to grow not only as a dancer but as a person which is so very important! I’m proud to say that I am a part of Barre None Dance Company.

Barre None Dance Company is professionally ran by Ms. Kiesha and her staff. Id definitely encourage and recommend anyone whos interested in dancing to check it out for themselves. I promise, you will not be disappointed. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!

If you are someone like me you may find it hard to find a studio so compassionate with their work. I started dancing at the age of 12 so as you can imagine it was difficult to find a place who would provide what i’d hoped for. Most dancers at that age are competing at an advanced level because of the years of experience given to them. I had my hopes set at another studio but unfortunately I didn’t make the team. Then I found Barre None. At that point I only had one and a half years of dance experience but was determined to give it my all at the audition. Miss Keshia saw something in me, in all of us. She has taken me and many other students further into the world of dance, provided a loving environment, and a safe space any one us can find comfort in. Barre None has become my second home over the last few years. I genuinely couldnt imagine my life without this place. What makes this place different from other studios is that we CARE. From our amazing director, staff, parents, and students we care. I’ve met some of my closet friends here and they are people I will never forget. So, for anyone looking for fresh start I highly recommend joining our family.

We have been a part of the Barre None family for three years. My daughter will turning 6 soon and loves going to class there. The instructors are great. The older dancers are also encouraging to the younger dancers.

My daughter is fairly new to this studio and so far we have had a wonderful experience! Everything is very straightforward and Keisha and the other instructors have been so sweet! My daughter is all smiles when she’s there!!

After our dance studio closed, we visited several studios to find ‘the right one’. A few studios stood out to us, however the parents and staff at Barre None made us feel most welcome. Over the years, I have met some great dancers and awesome dance moms!

Four years ago we moved our entire family almost 3000 miles to Richmond. Trepidation was rampant in so many areas of life, one of which was our two girls (11 and 13 then) who “grew up” in the most amazing, nurturing yet challenging dance environment in the studio we were sadly leaving. To find a new studio even remotely similar was a top priority. We researched ahead of time and interviewed four studios in RVA, any of which probably would have worked out just fine. But the girls really connected with Miss Keisha and what she seemed to offer and prioritize in her business. Our girls now are on the Elite competition team, which has allowed them to learn and grow beyond our wildest expectations, all due to the vision and discipline that Keisha employs in running her business. But its not about competition, they would be happy if not on the team. Four years later we have nothing but good things to say about Barre None Dance Company. Needless to say the big cross country move has been made much smoother by our stroke of luck in finding Barre None.

This has got to be one of the most disgusting experiences of my families lifetime. My daughter has dedicated over 3 yrs to this competition team. I refrained from commenting, as my daughter has moved on and dislike confrontation. After submitting a formal exit letter, the owner wasn’t humble enough to say goodbye to a student, whom she has supposedly help “grow,” as a dancer. Communication is unheard of when dealing with this owner, so don’t expect to be unmuted.I received threatening messages from the owner in which I’m in the process of handing these messages over to law enforcement. Would you feel safe leaving your child at a place where the owner, your child’s protector (while in studio) has endangered your child by engaging in violent behaviors, outside of the studio. Remember the world in which we live in.My daughter is mortified by all of this and is looking forward to an ending.We have closed this chapter in our book and wish the studio well.

My daughter just finished her 3rd year at Barre None. We moved from a studio that was very much like family and it was a hard decision to make. BNDC was so welcoming. Not only did I see huge progress in my daughter’s dancing, she now feels like BNDC is her dance home. The staff are professional and well educated in dance. The students are positive and serve as great role models for younger dancers. We couldn’t be happier with Barre None!

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter enjoyed herself.

I wish I could give no stars. If you are seeking a studio that demonstrate unprofessionalism, you are in the right place. It is very evident that you should remain voiceless and have zero concerns while attending this studio. If you are looking for confidentiality, expect none, instead expect division between families because of unethical practices. Expect the core values of the studio not to be upheld. If you are looking for a studio where profit is number one, this is the place. If you are seeking a great overturn of instructors, this is the place. If you looking for clarity, look to be seen as incompetent. See for yourself. Well wishes for a better experience if this is your final choice. I’ve had family members committed to this studio for several years and there is no regrets, only lessons learned. All expressed in this review is within eyesight. Research is key.

Our daughter loves dancing at BNDC, her teammates are family to us. The staff is great pushing her out of her confort zone enabling her to enhance in her skill set. Looking forward to another year with our dance family. Thank you so much Barre None for giving our daughter a place that nuture not only her dancing abity but her as a person as well.

Keisha Gervais, Artistic Director and choreographer, is a fantastic teacher. My granddaughter has danced with her for 4 years and I see that her students love her, work hard, and perform beautifully executed dances. Her choreography is imaginative and diverse so that the students learn a nice variety of dance styles. The new studio Barre None, opening this weekend, will be an asset to the greater Richmond area dancers and the arts scene.

Just attended their end of season recital which takes place after competition season. Absolutely amazing! These kids just shine and their confidence comes from the hard work, incredible feedback and amazing family they have all found together at Barre None. What an amazing day! I just came home wanting to dance all over the place! Cant say enough good!

Barre None is a contemporary studio where families can view via a TV screen, using live feed, their children/adolescents during practice; the owner and staff are a cordial, talented group of teachers; and they offer a wide-range of dance classes for the novice student as well as for the advanced performers. My daughter highly enjoys her classes with dance instructor Christina Fitch, who provides expert teaching and care to her students.

The staff is fantastic and they know each child by name, regardless of whether they teach your child. My daughter has loved it and previously danced at The Village Dance. The facility is clean and new, and I couldn’t be happier.

Love the flexibility of classes and class times in the evenings during the week and on weekends. Very pleased with the location, facility and most importantly the quality of instructors.

I have been dancing with Ms. Kiesha for 4 years now. She is an outstanding choreographer and instructor. But also in general an excellent and caring person. I have full trust in her decisions and her leadership as a creative director. She is amazing as all the instructors at the studio are. Come to BNDC for a full and great dance experience!

Modern facility with excellent customer service. Brand new dance floors and an excellent audio system. I will enjoy dancing here for years to come.

The teacher kicked my daughter out of her class because she doesnt know her colors and was jumping from color to color to quick. My daughters 3 years old. My daughter had trouble on that class from day one cause the lady is not good with kids at all.
