Good school. Wonderful teachers. However, the insides are a bit old and theres hardly any windows. Also, the county packs as many students into a school as possible, so the hallways are frequently overcrowdedTL;DR: Great for learning, not so good for living

I currently go to this school, and its the best school Ive ever been to. I see so much love and kindness at this school! Everybody including the kids and teachers are soooo kind and accepting of everybody. Im really shy, and all the kids and teachers look out for me ♡

The school is great, do not get me wrong, but there is one teacher that is frustrating and let me just say, do NOT take chorus here. The teacher is unfair and has too much favoritism among his students. If I could rate this teacher below a 1 star I would. He just doesnt care and picks only the best and people who dont deserve it. Do not take chorus. My son even has to miss school because of all of the performances too much

One of Henrico County Public Schools premier high schools. Theres lots of involvement with staff and parents and students. The students are proud to be a part of the education process and extracurricular activities.Theres rivalry with Freeman and Deep Run High Schools, which makes the athletic other events exciting to attend.Parking is something that could definitely be worked on here. When coming to events, you need to arrive 30-45 minutes before the start of events to be able to find parking as it is limited. If you have a pickup truck or SUV then youre in luck because you can park in the grassy areas.If youre coming to pickup a student after school or drop off before school, please pack your patience. The line can be very long to enter and leave the school. Youll find parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles double parked. It would be awesome if the school resource officer (Henrico County Police) could and would prevent that double parking as it has caused many accidents over the years.

Godwin has some great teachers, staff and students but I gave this school 2 stars on account of the overall environment which is down right institutional. The fact that only a small number of classrooms have windows is unacceptable and cruel, and that’s only if you manage to TAKE those classes that have classrooms with windows. If it’s illegal for hospitals to not have a window in every patient’s room, why should NO windows be allowed in a school classroom? Not to mention the safety hazards that are clear and evident when you have 15-30 individuals in a small room and only one way to escape. I think it would be wise for Henrico county to make some long-term renovation planning towards renewing Godwin High School. This would make a HUGE difference in the happiness, success, creativity, and overall attendance of students who go to Godwin if they know they will be staying in a safe, clean and structurally pleasant building for at least 8 hours of their day.

ZERO Communication at this school. My senior got her picture taken on time at school and everything and was left out of yearbook. Teachers at this school just dont care! Richmond public schools are better than Godwin. Poor kids!
