I was blessed with an opportunity to give a motivational speech to the students of continental school of beauty. I brought 60 business cards with me and ran out! Meaning I spoke to over 60 people, I was shaking in my boots, but I held myself accountable for inspiring others to become a wealthy woman and live a life of freedom & happiness. My business cards ran out, people swarmed me at the end with questions, asking about my knowledge and if we were hiring, and ways they can grow. A girl ran out to my car telling me how inspired she was. I also left feeling so inspired and impacted by how moved the students were. They ALL seemed so motivated and excited at the end of the speech ! If you were someone who connected with me at this event thank you for your time! I hope to continue building a relationship with Continental! The staff (especially Betty) puts a great effort into providing for their students. They show them opportunities for what they could experience after graduation. And they make people in our industry, like myself… feel important and provide an amazing networking experience. I have a close relationship with one of the instructors as well, Erin, she is so beyond talented, EXTREMELY knowledgeable and caring! I have so much gratitude for this experience! I hope to be able to return. Thank you.

I would give zero stars if could. Is started off great then suddenly very unprofessional and rude administrators. I work hard in school but they always seemed to have had a problem with me . I was never sure what I did , I was at school to learn . I got kicked out for no reason and they won’t give me my transcripts until I pay the balance. Which I never finished school for . I’m not sure if it has to do with the ethnicity or not I don’t know that I did

Well I was thinking about coming here being that it’s the only cosmo school here but these reviews are HORRIBLE! They obviously need to change some things and get it together since they are being paid from their students wow ladies sorry you experienced this place and thank you for saving me

First of all, I would like to say that the administration and teaching staff at Continental Rochester campus had become more like a family to me over the time that I was there. With COVID-19 being an issue, the school went above and beyond to ensure that we were still able to achieve success and get our education. There were many hiccups along the way, due to not being able to work on clients, etc. but, the school did everything in their power to still make sure that we were able to do as much hands-on work as possible, by giving us extra mannequin heads to work on and all of the tools we could possibly need.I could not be more pleased with my experience there, right from a friendly greeting walking in the door to being guided in every step of opening my own salon! Yes, I opened my own salon and it’s been great!All of the teachers have their own way of preparing you for a professional career, and I’m going to miss them dearly.Ms. Jolie was wonderful in answering any questions I had in regards to hours and protocol. Ms. Andrea and Ms. Karen are wonderful teachers and pushed me to be my best. All of the teachers made it fun and challenging!Unfortunately, not all of the students take the curriculum seriously, which sometimes makes for a difficult learning atmosphere. With that being said, the teachers did their best to give everyone their full attention and guidance. If you are considering a career in cosmetology or barbering, I highly recommend continental school of beauty culture in Rochester. If you are willing to put in the effort, you will walk away with nothing but success! I’m going to miss you all at continental and I hope to cross paths in the future!

Going here was one of my worst experiences I have ever had I have a learning disability and when I asked for help I got criticism and blamed me for being rude to the teacher for just asking for help one lady in charge yelled at me and told me to get out of her office and she got in my face just for asking to be taught a different way and for extra support discusted and disappointed.

If 0 stars was a choice that is what I wouldve selected. I graduated from Continental a year and a half ago from the Esthetics and Nails Program and would not recommend to anyone. If it werent for the Esthetics teachers I wouldnt have finished. The director Miss Betty and her minion Miss Meaghan made the experience terrible. Miss Betty is the most scattered brained, vindictive person I have ever met yet the owners continue to turn a blind eye. They treat students like children as they walk into classrooms and yell at adults for putting their coats on 2 minutes before clocking out or checking their phones while on break in the classroom. Meanwhile Miss Meaghan follows behind Betty like a little puppy ready to do anything she asks. What a sad existence. No wonder the Esthetics teachers left, they were great and this place sucks!

School was exciting at first back in March but now in November I’m starting to notice this school just wanted their tuition money and that’s it. Teachers never know what they are doing for state boards always getting taught the wrong way learn the same thing so many times as I’m doing it’s always the wrong way even though I’ve been taught there a certain way I just hope I pass my state boards based on what I’ve been taught! Disorganize they never know what test you already token. I asked if I can switch back to online classes due to with full time work it was hard for me to make it to class on time that option is not “available” but they have zoom classes already feel like I’m stuck and no giving help to succeed when asked. Should of did better research before applying now stuck in a loan!

I have a lot of horror stories from my time at this school a few years ago. While attending this school, instructor John Bradley generally treated his students poorly, but he seemed to have a particular disdain for me. Mr. Bradley once sat me down in front of my class and asked them to study each of my facial features. He then proceeded to pick apart every asymmetry in my face. The man was literally yelling about which of my eyes was higher, which way my nose leaned, which side of my lips was fuller, etc. I brought this to the director of the school, Ms. Jolie. Mr. Bradley claimed it was just part of his lesson about facial asymmetry and how we can use hair to balance it. I asked him why he couldn’t use a stock photo or a celebrity photo, and he said it wouldn’t be “real” enough. The director did absolutely nothing but slide tissues my way. I finished out my education but I am still damaged by the “lesson” and all of the other problematic behavior that Continental stood behind.

If I can give NO STARS I would... I am about to graduate and the education I have received so far is lacking! I don’t feel well trained to enter the field soon. The education here is a disorganized mess! Makeup station was empty when I arrived and STILL empty as months went on. No makeup to practice with and when you speak up, they say Students are stealing it. Teachers are being constantly changed from day to day causing great confusion!!! New students are mixed with students who are about to graduate causing the new students to be overwhelmed their first few weeks. Causing once again more confusion! When my class wanted to be taught correctly, requested supplies or even requested topics to be taught... the Director Ms Betty was screaming at us like children!! Very Unprofessional environment. I do NOT recommend this school to anyone. I wish I never wasted my time or money. - Disappointed Student 2020

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was a student here 2 years ago. I wish I had done more research & went somewhere else. It was the most unprofessional place Ive ever been. The director Miss Betty has an ego unlike anyone Ive ever seen. Shes a bully and is not only cruel to the students, but also to her teachers as well. Miss Meaghan is a spy for Miss Betty & everyone knows it. You can tell that none of the other teachers like Miss Meaghan, either. Miss Betty picks on students & yells at them in front of the entire class. If the student says anything back to her defending themselves, Miss Betty kicks them out for insubordination. Then she goes into the breakroom & talks about the students to the other teachers. We could all hear her do it!! I have no idea how the owners allow someone like that to conduct their business that way. Shame on them as they are just as bad, if not worse, for knowing a problem like her exists in their school & not caring enough to do anything about it.

The instructors were very patient and so very helpful to us as students. This was a great experience for me, I’ve met great friends and teachers who believed in me more than I believed in myself. If you are looking to have a great experience as a student with amazing teachers come enjoy your experience with continental. I am proud to say I graduated from continental school of beauty.

Best experience ever my wife and I go there all the time for hair cuts, facials, nails whenever they have a class! Great experience from staff at the front desk to the students. Awesome school

Had my hair colored today. The young girl had an excellent personality, friendly, and very cautious. Although I was in a hurry, she knew it but she still felt secure in what she was doing and did a fantastic job. I was very pleased with her work. I believe she will make a fantastic hair stylist.

I love this place been going there for almost 8 years !!! I even take my children here💕I know a lot of people shy away from students doing their hair but if something does not turn out right they are more then happy to fix it .Ive never had any bad experience with no one there .

As a continental graduate I felt Continental was always supportive in my learning and catered to my needs and exceeded expectations I am now a licensed nail tech and esthetician and have a great job in the industry I learned so much from the teachers there!

Yesterday afternoon I had my first hair trim and style at Continental. Very nice atmosphere. Clean, relaxed, friendly and professial. My stylist did excellent work on my hair. Very satisfied

I went there to get a shadow root/balayage touch up to my grown out roots. Left with uneven bleaching And no shadow roots, it was completely bleached. and brown spots everywhere. My scalp was completely irritated from the lack of car and person pulling so hard on my hair and scratching my head when being washed. I had to go back for another touch up to fix the spots but couldn’t go near the scalp bc it was so bad. I had to wait a month to let it grow out some and dye over my hair there, they didn’t even do a shadow root, they left the harsh line of my regrowth. And it was supposed to be a muted purple on the very grey side bc I can’t have too crazy colors. It came out neon purple even after asking over and over this won’t come out bright right? To make it even worse it faded out bright pink and I hate pink which I told them. I didn’t even get to have a hair cut as well. There’s even more about people’s behavior and other awful things that happened there but to keep it short I won’t add on. Although the new person who fixed my brown spots was amazing the rest of them were not and I can’t get rid of this pink now. Absolutely so upset.

Very disappointed in their customer service. Their website states times for people to come in and get haircuts. I called another time and they said that they only accept walk-ins. I called to make sure this was still the case an hour and 15 minutes before their ending time for the day, and the person told me that they could not take anyone else. If this is the case, their website should state times that they stop taking new customers. I will not be trying this salon again.

I had an appointment booked with a student and when I pulled into the parking lot I got a message from her saying the school was booked and we would have to reschedule. This is extremely unprofessional! I understand it’s just a school but what will happen when they are in the real world.

The students are so talented and the instructors are knowledgeable and amazing!

This year has been a terrible experience at this school as a client their time management is awful wanted a wash and wrap and a simple trim stayed almost 2 hrs had a convo with one of the instructors I was told I needed to be patient with the student if I’m not happy may I should consider going to another salon with more experience we want our clients happy but we want our students too be too WHAT lmao regardless if they got paid for how fast they work this school would be closed 2 morrow I’m done last time I’m never coming back here and I would advise anyone to reconsider because here your just another customer......

Never enough products to receive proper education, many teachers pick favorites and much more.Recently was harassed by another students wife in the back parking lot and instead of her and the wife being penalized for it me and my friends received horrible treatment by Miss.Betty as she had no concern for our safety, instead she was screaming at my friends and us 3 got in trouble instead.Bad experience here at this school, wish I did more research.

School here for just your money?? I booked a tour of this school a week in advance, I even said when I arrived that I was here for a tour. When I arrive, I was only given the tour of the office of one of the ladies for admissions. I wasn’t given a tour of the school at all, instead all that was discussed was how much it would be to attend this school. There was nothing enticing about the school, didn’t get to see an inch of where I would be if I were to truly enroll, only the price. There is nothing exciting about the school if Im not shown it. Worst first impression I’ve ever had with any school I’ve been toured with considering the other schools at least gave me a tour.

I am a graduate of Continental. I agree that the schooling is great, but the teachers are always changing and it can make it difficult to learn. Especially if a teacher you connect with leaves. However, besides waiting for services, due to making sure your clients hair is cut/done the way they want or waiting on a busy day, Continental instructors will not let their clients leave unhappy. And speaking up is best if your services were not what you wanted. The Stylist/Cosmetologist need to learn from that. Sometimes that means learning from mistakes. Luckily hair will grow back and color can be changed!!

Everyone is so sweet there and I always leave happy! From facials to nails to hair, they have me covered literally head to toe! :)

I wouldnt give them a single star! It is not like a salon. Its a lab where they just test people like lab rats! Theyre so non cooperative. A lady said it will take me 5 hours to get a highlight when a day before I was told it will be done in 2 or 3 hours If I come early so I came even before they open! I cancelled my other appointments just to come here.

Continental is great for all your salon needs. Why pay the salon price when you can get it at a discount. I never get a bad cut, color or highlight. The only downside is you may have to wait for a stylist, and since they are learning some perfer to ask their instructor if they are doing the cut you want correct. So plan to be there a while. I would steongly suggest that continental start allowing repeat customers to make appointments!

Not good at all, I had a facial and felt like she just washed my face,thats it. no massage or anything. it was only 30 minutes or less out of which 10 minutes she just sat waiting for my pack to dry..dont go..very upsetting..

Rude instructor and the hairdressers want to do whatever styles they feel like 🙄

Worst place ever! The so called instructors are rude! If you go just for a trim be prepared to be there for 8 hours, they stand around gossiping & when you complain they tell you if you dont like it go to a REAL salon! Basically you pay them to be a guinea pig!
