Diversity, creativity, and innovation go hand in hand. What are your core values? I suggest you change your name - definitely NOT a prep school. You do not deserve the title or accreditation.

The behavior of this school towards a bright young man is atrocious. The principal has shown a gross act of discrimination by discrediting this students achievements and right to give a valedictorian speech. These behaviors can be damaging to ones self-esteem. Please take action by removing this principal immediately!

Fire the racist principal who refused to allow Jaissaan Lovett, black valedictorian, to give graduation speech!! Refuse to enroll your own students or support this institution in any way until they replace this principal and any other staff who demonstrates racist attitudes towards students. Absolutely disgusted at the treatment of this hard working young man!

I have been attending this school for 3 years now and i have come to realize that the majority of the kids are horrible and act like animals. i regret coming here and now i am stuck with my choice for my final years here. at first glance the school looks like a good school. but once you have attended the school for even just a short time you will see that it is not all that it is cracked up to be. my advice to you is DO NOT ATTEND HERE! it is not a good school the education is good but when you have 10 disruptive and problematic kids in a total class of 15 you can not learn anything. the kids are extremely disrespectful to students and teachers alike.

This school is discriminatory and doesn’t value scholastic achievement over racist values and semantics. I would never suggest sending your kid there their talents will be under valued. Joseph Munno is a sad excuse for a principle, he refused to let the first valedictorian give the graduation speech. What a horrible guy, he deserves to be immediately fired without his pension. This is a restriction of freedom of speech. I will be contacting the local ACLU in order to see whether or not the school can have a lawsuit for this racial misconduct. This is now a national issue, one day that young man is going to be a professional and successful and the memory that will stick out the most is what your institution did to hold him back. DISGUSTING.

NO STARS! (it wont post unless you click at least one star) After the principal refused to allow the first black valedictorian to give a valedictorian speech Joseph Munno should be fired and denied his pension. This is what an expensive prep school teaches its pupils? Disgusting. Avoid at all costs until they fire Munno

If I could give this institution 0 stars I would...The principal Joseph Munno is a flat out racist that refused to keep with tradition. As we all know, class valedictorian’s always deliver their own speeches during their school graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, this schools first black valedictorian, Jaisaan Lovett was denied this honor due to his skin color by none other Joseph Munno himself. Despite all of the media attention, Munno has still yet to right his wrong by giving a formal apology to the Lovett family. Fortunately for Jaisaan, Rochesters Mayor Lovely Ann Warren corrected Munnos mistake.  Ms. Warren not only allowed Jaisaan to read his speech but had him do so at the towns city hall!  Congratulations Jaison; you are a bright young man, and will do awesome things at Clark Atlanta University!!!!

As someone who taught at UPrep for two years, I would strongly discourage other educators from considering employment here. Once you accept the job offer, the administration seems to believe that they own you, can treat you any way they choose, and that there is nothing you can do about it.When I accepted the job offer I was told that teachers would be enrolled in the New York State retirement system after the 2014-2015 school year, and that the contributions that would have been made to my retirement account during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years would be paid back into my retirement account. In the spring of 2015 the administration announced that the school would not be enrolling teachers in the New York State retirement system, and that no contributions would be made for the previous school years.Due to this failure to follow through with enrolling teachers into the NYS retirement system and pay back previous years of service, I, along with many other teachers, chose to not renew our contracts for the following school year, and to seek other employment.Recently I attempted to get a employment verification form signed that would confirm my employment for the 2014-2015 school year and prove that I was meeting the commitment I made to teach in a high needs school. Initially my requests to have the form signed were ignored. I then contacted a member of the Board of Trustees to get the form signed. The Board member told me that he spoke with the school, that I should schedule an appointment, and that my form would be signed. I scheduled a meeting, and during that meeting I was told that the form would not be signed, I was insulted repeatedly, and ultimately told to get out. I spoke with the Board member again after the meeting and was told that the Board member would call the school and then call me back. Since then, I not been contacted by the school or anyone from the Board of Trustees in any way.I know of many other staff members, students, and parents who were treated with similar disrespect (which contributed to over half of the staff from the 2014-2015 school year not returning to UPrep for the 2015-2016 school year), although I do not feel it is my place to tell their stories. However, I do feel that it is my place to share my experiences so that individuals considering employment at UPrep are aware of the type of environment they are walking in to. My advice to you: STAY AWAY.Lastly, the students and other teachers I had the opportunity to work with during my time at UPrep are all wonderful people, and I greatly enjoyed my time with them. It truly disgusts me that a small group of individuals can completely ruin all of the good things that students and teachers are doing inside those walls with the terrible treatment of their staff.
