It was wonderful working with Matt at Arc&Flame to set up a private class for my friends and I to learn about glass fusion. We got to create some beautiful bowls. The class was well-organized, and the instructors were informative and helpful. It was really a fun night out! I highly recommend checking their class schedule or setting up your own event!

Arc + Flame changed my life! I had wanted to change careers, so I applied for, attended, and graduated from the welding and fabrication career program in 2018-2019. The course itself was very comprehensive, teaching not only the skills of welding, but also how to read prints, grind, some basic metallurgy, and countless other things. Since graduating, I have worked several jobs across the country and have never had to struggle to find good work- Im currently helping to build cutting edge aircraft in California! Theres absolutely a market for the skills Arc + Flame teaches, and youd be hard pressed to find better facilities, staff, or experience anywhere in the country. If you have any interest in learning welding as a hobby or as a career, this is absolutely the place to do it!

I start by saying that I do not post reviews of places.Staff at Rochester Arc + Flame went out of their way to make a phenomenal experience for my wife and I. We took a couples class in blacksmithing and were thrilled with the results! I have already recommended to several friends and will continue to do so. Very happy and will most definitely return in the future!

AMAZING PROGRAM! I graduated from the spring 2021 program and it was an experience I did not expect. I have never held a power tool, no experience with welding...I could not even read a tape measurer. The instructors were beyond incredible! The scholarship opportunities obtainable. I could not say enough about this program. If you want a fresh start to career where your life is in your hands...this is the program!

The MIG class I took was great. I have no experience and within a few hours I felt very comfortable. Our instructor Scott was very helpful and took something intimidating and made it enjoyable. Cant wait until I sign up for the next class.

We did the 3 hour glass blowing class and it was fantastic at a minimum! We had Joe and Josh as the 2 instructors (coaches more like) and they really got you involved. Cant wait to pick up the items we made to see the final results. Cannot recommend this highly enough, great education and now Im a junior glass blower! This is the second class I have taken from them and it is worth every $$ you pay for it. Tons of real hands on work, and you get to make your very own masterpiece.

One great place to expand your horizons. There are so many excellent classes and instructors. The learning atmosphere and equipment is top notch. the prices are good and you get the best in the area. They have a nice gallery to show off some of past students work, plus a beautiful lab for glass working, one for blacksmithing, and one for MIG and TIG welding. I have taken all but 2 of the classes. Well worth the time to learn something new. It might be a little tricky to find the first time. It is attached to the rear of the Mahany Welding building.

Ive taken three metalsmith jewelry classes here so far. I love it! Its great to start out the class knowing nothing at all and leaving with something you made. The website is convenient to use and there are so many classes, many of them beginner. The instructors are great, patient and make sure you are enjoying your time. I look forward to taking more classes and seeing what else I can get into!

Very friendly staff. The artwork there for sale and in the process of being made was absolutely stunning. If they could teach people to create masterpieces like that, everyone should be learning to weld from here. The welding sections were clean, private, and spacious. Air flow was good. You could tell the students really enjoyed what they were doing and it was very professional. Check out the tour of their place to get a better idea of what it looks like!

Attended the 8 hour MIG Welding course Oct.1st. Very happy with the class, considering theres a lot to cover in 8 hrs. Key takeaway = I left with a base of useable welding skills which I can use now and can build upon. The instructors were highly competent in welding content and instructional process. A good amount of time devoted to hands on welding made the difference. The facility itself is an impressive blend of the industrial with an art studio, losing nothing and enhancing everything in the blending of the two. Would highly recommend Rochester Arc & Flame. I also think their community involvement in teaching welding as a career option to inner city young people, is something they can be proud of.

The instructors are super helpful and a great resource for any projects you might have. Classes are almost entirely hands-on and can be tailored to any skill level (or a range), youll improve a lot no matter what level you started at. Theyre also very good at orienting training toward what youll actually be doing, rather than an overview that might not apply as well. The facility is really good, very nice equipment and practice materials.

I participated in the four month welding and metal fabrication program at the Arc and Flame Center in 2012. Their program was very informative, challenging, and enjoyable. The owner and staff of the Arc and Flame Center definitely go the extra mile to make sure their customers are completely satisfied. Try out a program, you wont be disappointed.

Completed the 4 month program, with hopes of getting a good job. They tell you all about all the great jobs out there and have a high rate of job placement. Sounds great right? Until you get the jobs, all the jobs around here dont pay well. They look for kids fresh out of class that will work for crap pay, the school helps them do this! You spend 8k to get a job making 12-15 an hour if your lucky. They make it sound like people will think your a great welder when your done, nope your an entry level piece of trash to the company you work for. If your a fresh out of HS and to dumb to do anything else, go to BOCES and buy a $5000 welder. You will still be entry level trash but at least you have a welder when your done.Worked at 2 different companys made 15 @ one complete hell hole, they should get in trouble for sending people to places like that, the other paid 12. Gave it a year and threw in the towel. Left the field to find a real job and go back to a real school.I loved the program and experience the jobs just didnt pay.

The Rochester Arc + Flame Center is great place to take a night or weekend welding class . I took the TIG night course and absolutely loved it. The course taught me the skills I needed to be able to walk up to a TIG welder, set it up, and weld, carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum. It does not make you an expert welder but it gives you the foundation to feel comfortable with the machine so you can continue to practice on your own. I would highly recommend taking a class there!

I was a student of class #17 at the Arc and Flame Center, and words cannot describe how much this school and the teachers taught me. Their hands on teaching and procedures they use to make everything as easy as possible for everyone to understand is top notche. It isnt your average welding school for many reasons but the one thing that stuck out to me was, how well they prepare you for real life experiences, and how much they truly care about each and everyone of their students being the best they can be, Weither they come in with some welding expierience, of if you have no idea what welding even means. Thanks to them I am now 21 years old and have started my own successful custom welding and fabrication business called state of the arc just 2 years out of this program, without them....... There is no doubt in my mind I would not be where I am now. I highly recommend this program!!!

This place is awesome. Some sersiously talented people comprise the staff and everyone is very helpful and nice. I took the engineers welding course through RIT which was very application based and hands on. We got a lot of seat time practicing mig, tig (steel, aluminum, stainless and even some rarer metals if you ask nicely) and stick welding. we also learned the machines themselves, consumables, operating and troubleshooting, etc. Mike and the gang really pack a lot of knowledge and practice into the course and every other course/date night/program they offer. Its well worth it!
