My time at highland hospital was the worst experience of my life. The labor and delivery team gave the worst service beyond any. I was kept in Triage for 3 hours when I could have received a covid screening then when my contractions were lighter. I was experiencing back labor which was the most debilitating pain I’ve experienced. I was not allowed to get into a standing or kneeling position, anything to relieve pressure from my lower spine contractions. A nurses execution in explaining that came off extremely rude and inconsiderate to my situation. I was then admitted and experienced another nurse who’s body language showed annoyance and no compassion as I was experiencing a contraction and I asked her to hold off of my cdc blood draw until it was over. She then told another nurse that “I was not too happy”. None of these “nurses” showed me any compassion or support of any kind I felt completely abandoned and as if they were just trying to get through a shift at a job they hated. I literally was not given any advice or anything at all to help me feel comforted during my weakest vulnerable moment. I felt embarrassed and they did not do a good job at all at reminding me birth is natural and nothing to be ashamed of. They were rather discouraging. Not to mention that these nurses all but one were really young not that I’m against that Since I myself am young however they were not seasoned for such a serious matter and I felt like I was apart of their internship experience. Then they finally did a covid screening when I was already 7 cm dilated During a contraction I am not sure why that wasn’t handled in the beginning? And as I finally was pushing my child out I was asked to pull my mask up while my test already showed up negative for a screening and these nurses already had layers of masks on underneath a face shield. My all around birth experience alone was traumatic and the service I received at highland hospital was unbelievable. I can’t stop venting about how horrible that place was I may end up needing therapy. INSURANCE MATTERS PEOPLE.

I give Highland 5 stars because of the amazing team of nurses and other staff members and their above-and-beyond attitudes. I was treated with the utmost care and kindness. My delivery was not my own. It was shared by an entire team of dedicated women who cared for and encouraged me through the biggest challenge I have ever faced. Their dedication and thoughtfulness has touched my heart and changed my life forever.

Loved it here. They listened to my needs, fears and truly followed my birth plan, even following along when I changed my mind on something at the end. They were so caring, and let me eat up until the last possible moment during my induction. Very informative, answered all my questions about everything as we went along.We recieved awesome care the entire time. The breastfeeding specialist even came back an extra time at our request. Responded quickly when buzzed about an infant care question. My boyfriend and my mom had a place to take turns sleeping. We got a huge breakfast buffet after birth for myself and a guest. Highly recommend.
