Purchased a class that schedule to take place but was cancelled due to the pandemic. I asked to receive a refund since I was no longer interested due to time constraints, and was told that I could only be issued a credit. Customer service was horrible and has been a nightmare to work with these people to simply get a refund. They are simply unwilling to work with you. I wish they would have explained all sales are final!

As a few other reviews mentioned on here, this place has a poor business model. I purchased a class pack ($305!!!) before the pandemic and they are denying a refund. I see by reading other reviews they have done this for others as well.I would not recommend supporting this greedy company who can justify keeping people’s money without providing them a service. If you don’t see this review before you make the mistake of buying from them, I hope there isn’t another shutdown or you can kiss your money goodbye.

It was quite interesting class we did, it was 2 hour class, but felt little rushed....Didnt really get to finish much or do much, the instructor was cool, but he did most of the fixing cause our time was so constraint and most clay was flopping....Very difficult to find parking ....We ended valeting our car to avoid searching. The check-in area was little messy....Seemed the service people were little confused what they suppose to be doing...I guess lack of structure...It quite laid back.

I did a team fun event here. for those that have never done any work with clay or pottery - its actually a very fun experience. its largely individual but you do it in groups and get to see each other work. The one I participated in consisted of using clay blocks without a machine and then we also used the rotating machine to create a piece. Our instructor helped out a lot, especially on the machine. She was awesome at giving us an overview and then detailed step by step instructions. The site is large and spread across three floors. I think they offer multi week classes as well.

I purchased classes right before the pandemic lockdown occurred. My class was cancelled and after a while I eventually moved from the area. I contacted management and asked for a refund which they agreed to send. It’s been over a year and still no refund in sight. I contacted them multiple times after the initial request and they said that their “accounting team was working through the refunds and it would be processed soon”. That never happened. This place has poor business practices and I definitely don’t recommend coming here

Took a 6 week beginner to wheel and clay class here with zero experience...Todd our instructor was awesome! He was very knowledgeable and most importantly very patient and helpful with all of our endless questions. You could also tell how experience he was because hed make things us beginners struggle on look like magic. The Studio itself is also great - tons of work areas, tools, glazes, and bulk clay to purchase. All the staff and members/students I came across were super friendly - just a great community.Best part of the class was that there are open studio hours for you to go in and do your own thing/make more pieces/work on your skills a few days a week. That was definitely the best part, and I highly recommend using as much open studio hours as possible to refine your skills (Also a good way to get your moneys worth).Cant recommend this studio enough, and Id definitely consider getting a membership here in the future.

This is a great spot for team building events! Todd and Lindsay were fantastic instructors and super fun! We had lunch around the corner, walked up and our group of ~ 20 was split into two groups to do either a hand building activity or wheel throwing, then we switched activities. Todd was amazing at quickly centering everyones clay and with one hand could help fix things. The pieces that people made looked like the real deal! Lindsay introduced us to some awesome decorating techniques and some folks made lids for their vessels so it looked like an Asian tea container! Cant wait for the finished products. Thank you Lindsay and Todd for an awesome team building experience!

We had a work outing here and our instructor, D, was amazing! She guided us through throwing on the wheel and hand building which was no easy feat with such a large group. The facility is extremely spacious and in a great location.

I love clay by the bay! Ive taken 2 6-week classes and have signed up for a 3rd. The staff that works there are all super friendly and helpful. Im getting really into pottery as a hobby and have definitely improved a ton in the last few months. Open studio on the weekends is a huge perk of taking the class.

I visited Clay by the Bay to attend a workshop in the Autumn of 2018. I came all the way from the UK especially to visit...and it was definitely worth the trip! The building oozes creativity, the facilities are fantastic and the staff are really friendly and cant do enough for you. If you want to start a journey into pottery, or even continue on one already started, then this is the place to do it.Amazing place!

I was invited out to attend a women’s workshop in November and was completely blown away by my experience. One of the most beautiful studios I’ve ever set foot in, run by an extremely welcoming and kind staff! A great place for the community, large and small, to congregate!

This is such a lovely space with everything you could want from a ceramic studio. And the people and staff make it extra special. Really enjoyed my time there and look forward to coming back.

Space is beautiful - old exposed brick and lots natural light. The staff are all incredibly friendly and willing to help. Ive taken several classes and all the instructors are great and genuinely enjoy teaching and talking about the endless techniques and variations in the world of ceramics. Being able to take advantage of the open studio hours has accelerated my throwing skills and allowed me to indulge in my new obsession on a daily basis. My only wish is that they had a gas kiln so I could experiment with high fire glazes and soda firings, but this may not be possible in their location due to building regs.

Not only are the instructors extremely knowledgeable and friendly, but the entire atmosphere is welcoming and open to creativity. Rebbeca, Emily, and the rest of the team did a amazing job organizing the workshop and made it an unforgettable experience for all of us who participated! Thank you Clay by the Bay!

I visited Clay by the Bay for a womens business workshop in November 2018 and was blown away by their hospitality and mission to help women grow as artists and to grow their own businesses whole supporting one another. Rebecca, CBTB owner, was very empowering and professional in her demeanor and in group interactions. Our workshop was lead by Didem, and she did an amazing job of facilitating group discussions and explaining her demonstrations. Every CBTB staff member was wonderful and accommodating. The space is fantastic! Its much bigger on the inside than you might expect from the outside. The building has three floors, and each floor is a separate studio area. They have more pottery wheels than I could count and plenty of room for hand building. They offer everything from beginner pottery classes to studio memberships for those who are not advanced or desire more studio time than taking a class. The facility was well stocked with materials and tools and was a comfortable atmosphere for learning and meeting other clay artists. I cant wait to visit here again!!
