This beautiful, peaceful studio has been an oasis for me over the years. Being as wild and creative as I want to be with creamy, colorful paints is a balm for this soul. And its a warm, kind community in which I have always felt welcomed. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to get in touch with their creative side, break through creative blocks, or just revel in rich, beautiful color!

The Painting Studio has been a wonderful tool for me as a process to access the unconscious material in my psyche and to embody it on the canvas. As I look back at the paintings Ive done, I see patterns and images that come forward to help me with healing old trauma and to show the way forward. This process is like an active imagination or a dream. Its so creative and I cant imagine not meeting myself at the canvas with the paints ever agin! Claudia is exceptional at helping me stay connected to the images, even if I dont know what they are as they are coming forward. You must take this class!

I love this magical studio! I have painted with The Center for Creative Exploration for over 20 years and it has become a huge part of my life. Claudia, the main teacher, is an adept, supportive, and sensitive guide into the mysterious world of intuitive painting. While painting in the studio in SF is great, I have really loved the online Zoom classes. It has been a joy to bring the painting experience into the comfort of my own home!

The intuitive painting process taught here brings you into the pure joy of painting. Claudia immediately got where and how I needed to be both challenged and encouraged; and so there was a tremendous amount of growth within a short span of time.Ive been painting for over 30 years, and have studied with many teachers, both inside and outside academia. I found this to be one of the most profound, accessible and fulfilling approaches to painting, and the creativity process in general. It left me with many gifts and tools, that I still use on a daily basis and am very grateful for receiving.

If you think painting is only for artists and creative types and you dont consider yourself one, try one class at this gem of a studio in Glen Park. Youll quickly see your own creativity emerge in a supportive and warm environment. No prior experience is needed. It couldnt be easier to start!

Claudia guides the participants with gentleness and acute skill for the inner workings of the mind and soul. I love the sense of safety and acceptance she gives when guiding you. You feel supported in your journey inward and feel you can completely let go into the stream of Creativity!

Ive been painting here regularly for nearly 4 years. The teacher, Claudia, is a masterful guide. Her class, now via Zoom, feels particularly meaningful during the Covid Crisis. Claudia asks what do YOU need to paint? as opposed to what does the PAINTING need? . This is a marvelous therapy for those of us who tend to believe that the discursive mind can problem solve everything. Claudia works directly with each student, side by side; students are asked not to comment on other peoples paintings. In fact, Claudia encourages her students to paint as if NO ONE will see it; creativity without judgment. Ive worked in the arts (not painting) for 40 years: the Painting Process has become foundational to my creativity since the practice is about yielding to intuition.

I moved to the bay almost 2 years ago and found Center for Creative Exploration through online reviews. Im now on my 5th session thanks to Zoom classes, and looking forward to the summer intensive in a few weeks! The courses have helped me calm my inner critic that Id developed through decades of strict classical music training. They also gave me a safe place to work through grief when I had an unexpected death in my family last year. Claudia is a kind and attentive teacher, and the CCE community has been a special community for me. Im so grateful to have classes continuing online during shelter-in-place. If youre searching for connection during this time, CCE is a great place to creatively connect with yourself and others.
