Our daughter graduated from Drew six months ago and her college transition confirms that Drew was an excellent choice. Drew’s teachers helped her discover and develop a talent in foreign language, inspiring her to go beyond the minimum and take a full four years of Spanish. Her skills were good enough that she tested out of the college’s requirement altogether (but she plans to continue nonetheless). She’s tutoring a local Hispanic first grader in reading in her first semester. Similarly, she arrived at Drew with a background in music but questioning whether it was “right” for her. The faculty encouraged her to “dip her toe” into chorus; she ultimately aced AP Music Theory and now intends to make it a big part of her college program where she is already excelling. Drew also nailed another important (but often overlooked) “college prep” function: social/emotional development. The school’s supportive environment allowed our daughter to build deep friendships, experience her first relationship, and really understand how to relate to people. These social skills were important for navigating adult life on a college campus, three thousand miles away from home. With the perspective of time (and another high school), I’d highly recommend giving Drew a good look – it is a unique gem!A Drew Dad

My daughter just graduated Drew School and her experience there was above our expectations. From the beginning of her freshman year through her senior year she felt at home, was challenged and supported along the way. She has become a confident, independent and an empathetic person that is feeling very prepared for her college experience. We could not have asked for a better school for our daughter and family.

Coming out of public school, thanks to the generosity of the financial aid program, Drew has been our first private school experience. We have found Drew to be a place where they take seriously the commitment to a healthy community and the growth of the whole person. From casual conversations with parents, faculty, and staff to a curriculum that focuses on academics, arts, and justice, if you believe that a broad and rigorous liberal arts education is good for your child and good for the world, Drew may be the place for you!

I have a Freshman and Senior boy at Drew. My husband and I are born and raised in SF and went to Catholic schools (as did our boys). We didnt know what to expect but Im glad we took a leap. My senior has had a rough go of high school (hard transition from Catholic school/probably should have gone to a larger school? who knows) but Drew has worked with us/him for 4 years. There are some amazing teachers here! My Freshman has fit in amazingly well - this class is super tight and diverse in their interests (sporty/artsy/musical/everything and all!). He got into Lick, SHCP and Drew and is so happy he chose Drew. The entire family is included and updated about progress and we all know how great teenagers are with decision making!). The class size, promotion of small group discussions and 1:1 that Drew Offers are the hugest draw. I do wish they had a cafeteria or food option which is my only gripe (cant make lunch for myself let alone my picky kids & the neighborhood isnt cheap!).

My son is a sophomore at Drew and has been on fire since day one! He comments daily on the amazing community, the engaging interactions he has with his teachers, the kindness of the other students and the relaxed environment that makes his challenging academics actually fun!

When your are a high schooler and find yourself winding up here at Drew it really felt like youve come down in the world. But actually there WERE very smart people here only dragged down by some who were unmotivated and they werent such bad people its just that by now decades later theyre probably making more money than the smart people who feel isolated because they are told they are introverted. In fact just getting their brain power ripped off. I didnt mean anything by those remedial vocabulary quizzes turning em in in 10 seconds. I miss my teachers who wanted to really teach me and open up the world and encourage me and said I have Total Recall. And only to get back in touch with decades later and for them to tell me theyre interested in my projects. That reminds me to write Toño
