Attending an all-girls Catholic school isnt everyones cup of tea, which is fair because it is ones decision. Most people stereotype all-girls schools by saying that the students are catty, rude, or disrespectful. Im here to represent my Alma Mater from the Class of 2010.I had the best 4 years of high school at Mercy SF. Diverse classes of strong, intelligent, creative, kind, and funny women taught by remarkable teachers. Mercy SF is known for its performing arts, theater, and Women in Medicine programs. There are also opportunities for Intersession where you have the option of having a week long educational trip in-state, out-of-state or international. For my first Intersession, I chose to stay within SF; however, for my second Intersession, I chose to go to Hawaii and it was so much fun. Additionally, Mercy SF invites guest speakers to present history, poetry, politics, and activism to the entire school. I remember when we had the opportunity to listen to and speak with Holocaust survivors and their stories. Mercy SF wasnt all fun and games; on the contrary, it was an inviting space to grow into the person you wished to be.It may not be co-ed, but it was the main reason why I applied to Mercy SF back in 2006 and it was the best decision. I have kept in touch with most of my Mercy friends and classmates eleven years later. Its an incredible experience to be part of the Mercy community. Once a Mercy girl, always a Mercy girl!
