The instructor is exceptionally gifted in dealing with kids. He is effective, motivating and fun. Assistant instructors are amazing and they truly enjoy what they do. Kudos to Sir/Maam Dela Cruz.

The instructors are excellent! When the going gets tough, they are patient and encouraging. The youth karate lessons really build up the students, teaching not only self defense but also the values of respect, hard work, and the importance of celebrating the journey. I am grateful for everything this school has taught my son.

My now 9 year old has been a student for the last 4 years or so, and my wife and I are continually impressed by this school. They are extremely good at connecting with the kids, both in the context of making the classes fun, and showing them how the skills being taught apply to real life. Theres a clear emphasis on life skills like Respect, Manners, Focus, Effort, etc. while the actual martial arts come along for the ride. Theres also incredible attention to detail as well, in terms of being very quick to learn, remember and use kids names, excellent communication with parents and students outside of the classroom. Well occasionally get a postcard or email from them celebrating a specific child achievement, birthday or other milestone, and it shows they are really focused on delivering an excellent experience.

When I moved to the Bay Area I tried so many different martial arts/boxing studios looking for something that still held true to boxing but also was a good workout. One Martial Arts was that and so much more. All of the staff are so friendly and kind. The classes seemed to fly by since they are engaging & challenging. They also have great kids programs.

One Martial Arts has been an important part of my(now 16 year old) sons life since he was 4 years old. If only One Martial Arts ran more of the world... The quality -- standards, intention, standards, competency, and professionalism of this company is simply outstanding. They teach martial arts, primarily to kids, although I believe they have an adult program as well, and they do it holistically: at the same time they are teaching the skills to progress from beginner to black belt, they are teaching respect, honor, empathy, restraint, and gratitude as being as important to mastery as physical prowess. They make the classes fun but refuse to tolerate any fooling around. The instructor-to-student ratio is great, often several instructors at a time, and all of them are black belts, many of them multi-degreed. Private lessons are understandably more expensive but these are worthwhile too, especially as addendums to help over any rough spots. There is a constant emphasis on recognizing accomplishment, with merit badges for beginners and stripes of achievement leading to advanced color belts. Really, cant enough about how One Martial Arts approaches their business and the value and relevancy for any young person, but I will offer this example that might say it better than I have: During the pandemic they of course have moved to virtual classes and so theyve had to do without the ceremony that accompanies any student graduating to their next level of belt. Imagine our surprise when the doorbell rang at our home one Saturday and we opened the door to find a small table with our sons new level belt and a signed certificate. At the foot of our front stairs were two of his instructors, masked appropriately, who bowed to him when he picked up the belt and certificate. Yeah, thats One Martial arts. I guess I could have saved you this whole read and just mentioned that but they deserve all of these words. We recommend One Martial Arts without reservation.

One Martial Arts is incredible! My son started out as a summer camper during Covid in 2020. I was panicked about how to do distance learning with my two kids and still work during the week. Both my son (6) and my daughter (11) have attended OMA distance learning camp since September of 2020, and I could not be more grateful, or happy with their services and care for my children. They absolutely saved our family during 2020 and into 2021. My kids are happy and healthy and look forward to going to camp everyday, and also enjoy their martial arts classes. The staff are warm, friendly, and endlessly patient with my kids. In addition to providing outdoor and creative activities, I really appreciate how the martial arts philosophy of respect is also woven throughout everything they do. I could not recommend this camp highly enough!

I have been taking classes at One Martial Arts for a year and a half now and it has been incredible! When I started, I was incredibly nervous as I’d wanted to take martial arts since I was a kid but instead was starting in my 20s. All of those fears were gone by the end of my first class.They offer an initial free class to see if you’re interested, and I have no doubt you will be. Every instructor I’ve had has been friendly, helpful, and patient. They make me feel welcome every class and are genuinely interested in my progress— this martial arts school won’t just hand out a belt. They make sure you know what you’re doing and are very encouraging making sure you’re confident and comfortable.The transition to virtual learning was very easy. In person, I took the teen/adult class, but for virtual learning teens/adults have the same classes as the kids that are at the same belt level. Other than not being able to use the punching bags, pads, or partner work like we do in the in-person class days, it’s still a very effective way to learn.There is an instructor and a helper keeping an eye on form and accuracy and they’re still very encouraging and patient with this new way of learning. I have still earned my belts and stripes and feel good about my progress. Plus, if you feel like you need any further help or learning, they offer free 15-minute lessons one-on-one with an instructor.They do offer outdoor classes on weekends, but I haven’t attended any. Even though I haven’t attended, they’re very on top of the weather and informing us if class is canceled or not. Plus, there are newsletters and fun coloring pages for kids that match our weekly lessons.In the end, I recommend One Martial Arts to everyone. From parents hoping to teach their kids self-defense and discipline while being able to have lots of fun to teens and adults that want to learn martial arts in an encouraging environment. They have a truly wonderful staff and I look forward to every class. They’ve helped me live my best life!

Our family has been with One Martial Arts for the last 8 years. The staff are well trained and professional. The programs are well run and communication is on point. We’ve attended youth karate, kickboxing, meditation, and day camp at OMA. Karate classes have instilled self confidence, core strength, and values in my son. The instructors are encouraging and firm at the same time. He’s learned to accept constructive feedback through his karate journey, which will serve him well. Also, the meditation class has been incredibly valuable during the pandemic, and has kept me grounded. I’m very grateful to OMA.

Wonderful karate school! Teaches kids both life and martial skills.

Weve been with OMA for several years now and very much enjoyed their program. However, during this past year they have gone above and beyond, keeping the kids, everyone, learning and active consistently in virtual classes almost immediately following the SIP orders. They have offered the additional support needed for continued training despite the challenges of online learning. Theyve also been very carful with opening outdoor in-person lessons now that its possible. My familys thanks to Professor Belisso and all the instructors and staff of OMA for helping us continue to live our best lives.

Our children participated in OMA on multiple occasions: BD party, Afterschool camp during Covid and martial art classes. We, and most importantly kids, love this place. During Covid OMA saved my sanity!! Kids would come back so happy form the camp. I just loved seeing them getting their happiness back. My son has been at One Martial Arts for over 8 years and just recently earned his black belt with them, and I cant say enough about how amazing OMA is! We compared different martial arts studios initially and we liked the fact that OMA focuses on the whole child, not just earning belts. During every lesson the kids learn about values such as perserverance, family, hard work, etc. and are taught to live their best life. Over time, these messages really do pay off - I can see the positive impact that OMA has had on my son in everything he does, from school to music lessons to other sports. They also offer classes at multiple times, which is great for busy families, and have summer camps, parents nights out, birthday parties, and a whole range of services that we used at different ages. The owners and staff are incredibly community oriented, and the instructors are amazing role models, very caring, and push kids to do their best. I really liked how as they kids got older, the instructors were still supportive but expected the kids to be more responsible for practicing and being ready for class. OMA is an absolute treasure for San Francisco famlies, and I highly recommend them!

I enrolled my son in OMA when he was 6 (now 8). He is a high energy kid and he needs an activity that will help him focus and burn his energy. He went from a kid that had to continously be reminded to focus, to a kid who was recieving compliments from other parents - within a year. Most importantly I saw the difference! I would recommend OMA in a heart beat, because I know its an amazing program, community and you see results. Students learn about life skills, dicipline, confidence, integrity, family...and much more to encourage the growth of a strong character. Definitely worth the investment!

I was already enjoying classes when the covid lockdowns started. Since then, OMA has done a great job of adapting to handle the situation. I was initially skeptical about how well virtual classes would work, but theyve managed to pull it off quite well.For my kid, things are pretty much normal, with the added benefit of being able to take classes with dad. As an adult taking classes, I appreciate that the instructors still provide me with more detailed critical feedback. It takes a bit more focus and determination on my part with fully virtual lessons, but developing those is an important part of studying martial arts anyway.Ive been happy to see them clearly working hard to provide the best experience possible given the every changing situation. And Ive enjoyed being able to continue practicing and learning the entire time.

One Martial Arts is an absolutely wonderful school! We brought our son here almost 3 years ago in order for him to build confidence and he definitely has gained that and then some!The teachers are so wonderfully kind and pleasant. They are one of the main reasons why we keep coming back because I just love how the children are taught to be respectful, to have manners, and to live their best life!

If youve walked by this place, Im sure youve seen the videos posted in the window, or the various kids martial art classes or adult kick boxing classes they have going on here. One thing for sure, it that they are well organized, and well run. My son has been going here for almost 2 years now. He has learned quite a lot and has moved up the ranks.I do have to say that although Im not familiar with the martial arts system, and how students progress, do I feel they move a bit slower than what Id expect. It takes a long time to move up the ranks of belt color, and most of the time, you will see kids within a few ranks keep learning the same things. They do test you on the various moves so the kids need to remember their moves. Repetition is key here.They offer summer camps, and day camps for those holidays. What I also love is the amount of free events they have for their students and friends. They also have the occasional parents night out where you can drop your kids off for a few hours (for free I might add). Its a nice perk to have.

A friend referred me to the karate school here and was glad that karate really clicked with my daughter who was 6 at the time, she was not interested in other sports she had tried. Two weeks into the classes, I was so impressed with the instructors and curriculum, I had to try it out. I had tried many fitness and sport activities in my life, but the physical and mental fitness these karate classes have given me is unparalleled. 4 years later, our whole family participates---One Martial Arts is a unique karate school in that adults and children learn the same curriculum and therefore can learn and practice together. This is a wonderful school. My son has been enrolled for eight years, starting with the childrens program and continuing into the youth program. My husband and I have both taken adult karate and cardio kickboxing. The instructors are talented, caring people, and the facilities are clean and bright. The school offers many classes and workshops at no charge, and often non-members are encouraged to attend. The summer camps are very well organized and offer long days and day camps during school breaks.Joining One Martial Arts finally stopped our revolving door of gym memberships. This studio is so much more than any gym could be - I encourage you to give it a try.

I have been a student at OMA for 7 years now. I earned my student black belt a little over a month ago. I have learned a tremendous amount. I am so happy I became a part of the One Martial Arts community.

After taking many years off to have kids, I returned to One Martial Arts a year ago for the fitness kickboxing classes. I didnt receive any guilt or shame for being gone so long. Instead, I received a warm welcome back and have been given so much motivation and encouragement to keep on going. My husband has noticed the difference the classes have made! After a few months, my kids were jealous and wanted to take karate. They love the program and enjoy it every week. We love how much OMA strives to build strong character in them, not just teaching them forms. They had their birthday party there. Our guests were so impressed and amazed at how well-planned everything was and how engaging the staff was the entire party -- even the parents had fun! OMA constantly gives back to the community and encourages us to all do the same. Now, my husband has joined the fitness kickboxing classes as well. We are a family that loves One Martial Arts!

My grandson,Walter, and I have passed by One Martial Arts since he was a toddler and he always wanted to go inside.When his Grandfather asked what he might give the boy,now 7 and I told him about the karate lesson special.We are all so glad Grandpa-Pa made the initial investment. After the trial lessons he was hooked,and his sister Wynter,4 also joined. Karate is now incorporated into their weekly routine.I cant say enough good things about everyone there at the school.The lessons are clear and Ive never been there once when they didnt remember each childs name,and try to greet each one as individuals,from the ladies at the front desk,to Professor Beliso.They maintain enough staff to give private and semi-private lessons when needed during class, to brush up,test,or if new,so nobody just passes through.As a grandparent you want to give the little ones something that will last longer than the latest new toy.We found something lasting here!At One Martial Arts,we can see that what they are learning goes well beyond the karate.From the way they must earn badges for manners,practice and exercise,to the Little Ninjas asking we parents and grandparents to join them at times on the mat makes it truly a family affair and place to learn values.But yes-The karate lessons are also professional and traditional. Being a part of the ONE Martial Arts, has been a learning journey for our entire family. My son has gone from a quiet & shy 8 year old to a more confident 13 year old. During the pandemic, it was important for us to remain connected, so we participate in the Virtual Class. We are blessed to be able to maneuverour finances to continue our son in the program because it is that important to us.

My family has been going to One Martial Arts for over 10 years. The instructors are excellent and the environment is great.

So I go to the doctor and I get the Your overweight and have high blood pressure. You need to do something or your going to die. So I am forced to work out and get back into shape. Easier said right? Well luckily I have a good girlfriend who has a good coworker who referred us to this place. And as of today, I have 4 classes under my belt and I plan to go back everyday.The atmosphere fun. With the music going around while you punch the bag til your arms hurt, the cardio kickboxing class is awesome. I have never sweated like that in my adult life. I have to comment on the song choices. Me being a guy and all, working out to Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars is not my cup of tea. But since the classes are 90% female, and they all have punching gloves, I will keep my thoughts quiet during class. *LoL*Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced fitness level, the kickboxing cardio class will surely get your blood pumping. It all depends on what you put into the class and how focused you are with the goals you want to accomplish. The OMA staff can help you reach the goals you want.I am truly amazed at the instructors though. They really do try and get to know you. From the class size of 10 to a class size of 40, they will go around and motivate you.I was very impressed to when I first met Brannon Beliso. He seems like a genuine family man and I bet he considers his students part of his family as well.I am glad that I signed up for this studio and they help me reach my goal towards better health. Hopefully Ill make some friends along the way.I know my review does sound cheesy, but walking into the class and having that feeling that they are all routing for you, well its cheesy.

My family discovered OMA when we attended a birthday party - we ran, did push-ups, broke boards and were completely won over by the Professor and his staff. Shortly afterwards we signed up our then 4 year old and he has been in the program for almost two years, joined a few months ago by his younger brother.OMA supports my familys values. At school no explicit lessons are given on confidence, respect, focus....My sons are confident, respectful, good listeners and they are also great at breakiing boards. They love attending karate class and practice at home a lot.I have never been to another karate school, but from what I hear OMA is different - the badges, the teacher/student ratio (there are always at least 3 teachers per class), the additional free activities (safety seminars, holiday parties, the annual picnic) also make OMA a special place.

Simply amazing. I would want to train here if I live in San Francisco.
