This store has variety of instruments for sale and rent. I purchased a Yamaha trumpet , the price was good and the service was excellent. I purchased a cheap one on line before, when my son had problem with the instrument, it was so difficult to get a help, this is why we decided to purchase from a local store.I am glad that we found a nice local music store. I really appreciate it is here in our neighborhood.

Great store! They have a good collection of Chinese instruments, including their accessories. Price is even better than online. Linda has been very helpful to locate the stuff I wanted. I called in for some Pipa nails and books. She went to check the inventory and called me back to confirm the availability. So I went in and got everything I wanted. Last time Linda recommended the best tuner (not the most expensive) and even taught me how to use it in the store. I just love this store. You can always call ahead to save you a trip!

We moved to SF a year ago, I rented a violin for my daughter from Exploring Music, the price was very reasonable, only $10 per month, It was an excellent quality handmade violin . My daughter’s school violin teacher even suggests other students to rent it from this shop.The customer service very very good, the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. They have a repair shop in Sunset , I brought my older son’s violin for repair and the price was very reasonable , I highly recommended this store.

My daughter has been taking lessons from various teachers at Exploring Music for the last 3 years. She has learned a lot. The teachers go out of their way to accommodate the students to meet their needs. We were fortunate to get private lessons when my daughter needed additional help. Teacher Sue even helped us get another keyboard for my daughter to practice at her dad’s house. I’m so grateful for all that we’ve experienced with Exploring Music!

My daughter has been taking group piano lessons here for some 6 months now. The teachers are great, the classes are small (3-5 in our case) and she learned A LOT! The price is pretty affordable too compared to other music options in SF. Highly recommended.

Ive really enjoyed taking private piano lessons with Jie at Exploring music. Shes an excellent instructor. Ive only had 5 piano lessons so far and my piano skills have improved significantly. I give it 5 stars.

Wonderful store with excellent customer service. My son has been taking YAMAHA Music Lesson there for over a year, the teacher really know how to teach the young children, the learn the lyric singing, solfege singing , play keyboard and music education. I highly recommend.

The teachers are wonderful, especially teacher Sue!!! Our son started roughly 3 months ago, he could already play simple songs such as “Hot Cross Buns” Just make sure to do the assigned homework!😊
