I have been a “patient “ of UCSF for 5 years in the rheumatology dept. I would not recommend them.If you want very little help with your pain, disease, then this is the place for you. The offer”zoom “ appointments because they can get more patients in and out with little effort. They have a private zoom app. And they usually just call me because the app rarely works . I keep going because it is hard to find specialists in this time of covid.

Went to ED at 8:30am on a Sunday. I was attended to immediately and brought to a room where a doctor checked in on me after a short wait. The doctor was really nice and he was able to resolve my problem after consulting with the head of ED. I was able to leave by 10am.Side note: there was a commotion in the waiting room and police had to be brought in. My wife, who was waiting there, had to be escorted by security to my room. They were proactive considering the circumstances.

It was a good experience. Nurses top notch in 8 long. Dr great. Techs nice. All in all a good experience.. Ashley, you are awesome.

They are very professional and accommodating staff. All Doctors, nurses, Social workers, Dietitian, Pharmacists and even PCA personnel and Food services are awesome! Thank you UCSF HEALTHCARE HEROS! Thank you for helping my brother in-law after his hiking injury. We thought he would never walk again. Thanks to the phenomenal doctors, surgeons, nurses, and therapists my brother-in-law is going to walk down the isle! He just finished his rehab at a Post Acute rehab in (Carmichael California; where he lives) we are forever thankful for UCSF & Mountain Manor skilled nursing the Reynolds wedding is next week 7/17/21 videos coming soon!

This was such a waste of our time. My daughter was referred way out here because she didn’t cooperate in a regular kid friendly dental setting & she was referred to another place in Atwater who referred us out here. Waste of time, gas & money. They didn’t recommend her to be put to under like i was told they would. If your kid doesn’t cooperate in a regular dental kid friendly environment they won’t cooperate else where.

The nurses working there who personally gave me healing care and TLC all should get major inreases in pay for all their jobs done perfect. The triage clerks should be removed from all private office And room settings STAT. There is more I want to say about it but cant in my current setting until later this week...stay tuned

They act like a scam. I just got an automated phone call from an unknown number. It said it was calling from university of California healthy system and it asked me to provide my birth date and many other private information, because they wanted verify my identity then tell me something. Probably they will tell me that I have an appointment next month. Thats all my guessing, the phone call didnt mention UCSF. Anyway, anybody can pretend to be university of California healthy system and steal information from their patients. It reminds me hackers just stole a lot of files from this place and extorted $1.14m from the hospital in the last year. I really hope their management team can learn from this.

My surgeon, Dr. Dean Chou was amazing Nurse! He took very good care of me and my surgery was a success Nurse! I thank him and his staff! Nurse, Sudha Lama and Ruby took excellent care of me. They were patient and attentive to my care. I thank all the staff on the 8th floor.

The oral surgery clinic is the worst. Got there at 2:15 for my appointment at 2:30. It’s 4 pm now and I haven’t gotten in yet. Have been waiting for more than an hour and a half and still going on.

Every single person I encountered was 100% on their job from the bottom to the top, everyone down to earth made you feel comfortable and safe.They saved my life here for certain.

I unfortunately have been in a few hospitals over the years. This is the best by far! Amazing nurses and supportive staff. Oddly you order your own meals which are then cooked to order. It only takes about 30 minutes. You get a menu like Room service and call via the bedside phone. The doctors come in every day breaking down new items and inviting questions. Whats amazing too is the broad scope of those medical practices.. For me it was internists, gastroenterologists, urologists, dieticians, case workers. Impressive multi-pronged attack to what ails you. Im going to actually change from Sutter group to the UC system. I am convinced and hooked on them. Thank you to the staff and Christine, one of my favorite nurses who was just sooo kind and sympathetic to my needs. Responses from the nurses button were within seconds most the time and whatever I needed soon followed. Again, thank you for making my stay easier and always being helpful and kind.

Not sure what people want me to say about UCSF. This place is a very large Medical Center with several campuses throughout San Francisco. Im a patient there and have been and still am a loyal patient since 1959. (I was a mere 5 year old almost 6 when I became a patient). Im currently in treatment for a long term illness.

Great campus but parking is a pain in the butt. They have a garage which I didnt try so I mainly hunted for street parking. It took some perseverance but I managed to succeed.

First time there for Pfizers covid vaccine shot.Well maintained and clean...considering the crowds...workers, students and patients.There was an abundance of cleaners everywhere...a great thing during this pandemic.All of the staff cheery and helpful. They seemed truly happy to be there helping us.Image of the folks in line ahead of me.The few who were not prepared with their paperwork, were taken aside and helped by staff who had mobile computers on a rolling stand.Heard them walk the patient through their data & confirmed. Then plugged back into their place in line, and if we move too far ahead, they were plugged back in line where they were standing.A very pleasant experience...more so compared to friends description of theirs at other facilities.There was one female complaining of the long line (it was long, but was slowly moving).A staffer talked to her in a calm voice, even though that gal was yelling.Staff: there are several rooms up there, so as to limit the number of patients in an enclosed room for your safety...then we have each patient sit in there for 15 minutes after their shot, in order to monitor for possible allergic reactionsTHAT helped all of us...except that B..., and several of us told her to shut up...that felt soooooo good...

Best hospital for neurology hands down. This institution has saved my life and so many others. I believe in teaching hospitals because of this place. This and ucla are the only two on the west coast in the top 10.

Awesome campus!! Weekly visits to the transplant clinic and the staff is always courteous and helpful, not to mention the screeners are superb!! Social distancing is heavily enforced which shows they are serious about COVID and protection.

Worst experience across the board with UCSF. Waiting for an appointment for 4 month, getting a call from them about postponing it for another month is a typical situation, at least for me.Basically of all the specialists I had to see starting from January I had an appointment with only one.Result - a list of useless referrals with no availability and bad customer service.

Very professional, efficient, well run dental school. Caring instructors monitor graduate students performing various aspects of dental treatments.

Due to Covid, you have to sanitize your hands, put on a fresh mask that is given to you from hospital staff & place a yellow dot on your jacket, to let the hospital staff know you have been checked in.I have no complaints about this new procedure, anything that can help in getting rid of Covid-19...it may seem to be a mild inconvenience, to sanitize your hands & the other stuff I had mentioned above, but its better than catching Covid.Be safe everyone.

UCSF is the Premier Hospital on the west coast. Every department that I have had dealings with have been amazing. The people genuinely make each patient feel comfortable .

Dental school .. easiest access is through west portal area over to laguna honda and then right on kirkland. Parking lot off kirkland at last street is easiest to get there. They are keeping all covid restrictions. Aok.😁😿

When you walk to the dental surgery lobby and your the only person in the room and no one greets you, dr.’s are fantastic. They’re office staff 2/10 not friendly, and was very rude when opposing opinions arose.

Went in for a kidney transplant and all the staff were wonderful, the food was delicious also. 10 + stars!!

Parking garage was a terrifying experience. Level 3 was like a scene from a zombie movie. There was a strong and nauseating smell of human feces as I walked past a fresh car break in. Broken glass everywhere. Very isolated feeling in this place.The elevator wouldn’t open. Had to run up many flights of steep erie steps to get into a lively public open space. Nearly died of fright trying to get out!Paid $4 for 20 minutes for zero confidence that my car windows wouldn’t be broken when I returned.Other floors in the garage seemed better. Avoid this level.

Best place I ever worked !

My partner just had a two day spinal fusion surgery last week by Dr. Aaron Clark and was in the hospital for 6 days. Every single staff member from nursing assistant, nurse to physician assistant were all exceptional. When he was having some concerns Dr Clark came in later that evening and took the time to answer all our questions. He is very compassionate and has a great bedside manner. This hospital goes above and beyond and I would highly recommend it to anybody that is having any type of procedure. Please like if you found this review helpful.

Well staffed and efficient.

The top hospital in the area - and probably top 10 in the nation imo. The entire staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Just had surgery there and the whole process worked like a well-oiled machine.

I had today,and since January of this year have been blessed with the MOST EPIC WONDERFUL PATIENT CARE,from being diagnosed with a melonoma in my left eye,to radiation at ucdavis,to intensive follow up ,including scans,and mris to out patient biopsy today of my lungs,I was given covert testing ,and great patient protection,I am thankful I received good news today with the biopsy,and hav been covert free,I AM TRULY BLESSED,THEY ALL WORK TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF THE PATIENT,this even includes ZOOM,appointment s HATS OFF TO ALL OF YOU,AND THANKU,AND GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS

We are very pleased with the treatment plan and all staff is amazing!I especially want to say thankyou to all of our nurses, physicians on floor 10. The care & compassion was over and above great care.There nurses assistant on floor 10 also were amazing.

I am a picky person & there is nothing I can complain about. My physician is Dr. Kristen Greene & she is very knowledgeable & she cares.The hospital itself was built to help the patients healing process. UCSF is my 5 star choice.Even the food is good!

My dad had a stroke while at the grocery store about 80 miles away and was airlifted to UCSF because this was the closest place that was able to do a procedure to pull a blood clot out of his brain. Had it not been for UCSF and modern technology, my dad would not be with us today. I thank the top notch staff for saving my dads life! He is recovering but they truly did their best and I can honestly say theres no where else I would have wanted him to be through this experience.Only con was the parking. Its unbelievably wrong to charge loved ones $30 a day to park. People are already going through enough & to charge that much to park is insensitive. I was driving back and forth from Modesto for almost 2 weeks, which was a financial burden already. There is no free parking around either. Unless its Sunday - use the meters. They are free.

Research hospital. No wonder they cant get well me. I have surgical gloves left in me from a previous surgery and they cancel my appt without telling me and cant heal me. I had to leave to go get well. I do not recommend UCSF to anyone for healing purposes...big DIFFERENCE from Research to healing...

So I made the mistake of going to therapy the week before and after my insurance changed for the new semester, I was technically covered the whole time but they billed the wrong plan and now I owe $1200 apparently. I called THREE TIMES three different people to tell them they made a mistake and how to fix it (which they assured me that they would) but they just sent it to collections anyway and now they wont stop harassing me with phonecalls and bills.

I go here due to epilepsy and I would have chosen any other place to have gone. Its just a very congested city...

Dont know about the hospital but the dental clinic is awesome. Have visited several times even for complex issues and they are thorough, treat you like a human and not a project, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend.

I had a great experience in the Emergency Department this morning. I was anxious because I just moved here from out of town but was sick all night and had to come in. Jason triaged me and he was super friendly and helpful to my husband. Kathleen was nurse and John helped her with my IV and labs. They reassured me and described the process of getting test done and what to expect. They were sweethearts. I saw Dr. Pedrez who listened well, appeared concerned, and had great bedside manner. Marisa did my xray and described the process well, she was in the best mood ever for a Saturday morning at work. Angela did my ultrasound and was so nice to bring me back to the ED instead of having me wait on transport. So even though, it took a while to get all my test done and resulted, I could not complain about the staff nor my overall experience. I would definitely come back. It seemed like a nice clean facility and safe with security at the entrance.

Im still in awe at how terrible the communication has been. I feel like Im dealing with a government agency trying to get an update. Then they have the balls to send me request for a donation. I dont donate to places who are clearly in need of help to fix issues with how the place is ran.

I had a 3 level ACDF surgery with Dr. Aaron Clark back in February 2018 and I had no complications. Dr. Clark and his entire staff are amazing. Anytime I had a question or concern I emailed them and almost always got a response within 3-5 mins. 5 mins Max .Diego is his assistant and he is always so friendly and is always prompt in getting things done. I had both my hips replaced at age 29 and 30. I could not have asked for a better surgeon and staff. I recommend everyone to ucsf.

Just went there for emergency brain surgery. The doctors and nursing staff were absolutely top notch. The tumor in my head is gone now too. Thanks UCSF medical center.

Every time I was in UCSF I NEVER waited very long in Emergency.Nurses and Doctors were never understafed and were kind and considerate.Great Hospital.

Its a shame this facility is in existence. Please consider other hospitals rather than their miserable treatment options. I wish they close their doors soon and not mislead people!

I was a neuro pt. and on 8 Long for about a week. The whole staff was awesome. They took awesome care of me and if I needed an advocate the did not have a problem with being one for me.

I am alive and able to give UCSF 5 Plus stars for saving my life 13Years ago, when I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. I spent months in the Neuro ICU, in and out of comas, had 3 craniotomiies,And was in Status Epilepticus for a long time. The outstanding careI received from every person working at UCSF, from the amazing neurosurgeon, Dr. Michael Lawton, to the loving skilled nurses whoseDevotion and highly skilled and intensive care of my person and myPerilous hold on life, brought me back to being a happy functional andSpirited ,productive person. This place rocks!!!!

Ive been to hospitals around the country, this is by far the worst hospital Ive been unfortunate enough to stay at. The nurses and security guards were hostile, violent and encouraged patients to injure themselves. I experienced several horrible seizures after which while laying on the ground of the emergency department floor I heard the night nurse laughing saying hahahah shes having another seizure. No hospital personal checked on my vitals or condition after 3 consecutive seizures. This hospital deserves a 0 out of 5 stars for providing everything in direct contrast to medical assistance.

Awesome Place To Work

Terrible place to have your baby. Doctors are awesome - rooms and 1/2 the nurses are from the 60s. Same with the billing department. Get with the program!
