Poor in every way. I’ve never been so disappointed with a school we were researching. Ignored our calls and messages. They lost our child’s paperwork and proceeded to use it as an excuse for postponing a tour. When we took our child out of school to visit school suddenly everyone in the school were unavailable to help. Director was out with a hurt back. When told I’d receive a call that day it took 4 additional days. I don’t recommend this school.

This is our second year at Sea of Strengths Academy, and we have seen considerable academic improvement. Our son has more confidence and has come out of his shell socially. He participates in classroom activities, and no longer hides to keep from being called on in class. The teachers are wonderful and gifted. They understand that each child learns in a unique way. The school has done a great job putting together a program to help children learn to read and do math, and feel good about what they have accomplished.

Sea of Strengths has been a lifesaver for our daughter. We love the individualized attention the students receive with the small class sizes. The staff is wonderful at SOSA. They are dedicated and caring. Our daughter is happy, loves learning, and feels more confident. I love to see the how excited she gets when she brings home her report card. I would highly recommend this school. You will not be disappointed.

The school has change it is no longer child focused ! Its Dog focused, Long walks, play breaks , and yes even leaving field trips early to let the four legged friend out to pee! This was not always the case this school was at one time very passionate about the student. The classes were small the teachers / Owners very hands on. Now you find them with less the adequate teachers, students preforming way below grade level. Test levels have dropped dramatically in the past two years as the owners have transitioned out of the class room in to the office. High turn over rate in the past year very little to none of the long term ( over 3 years) students will be returning. Parents have addressed the issues and concerns they seem to fall on deaf ears. Standard line is it will Come Our children dont have the time to waste, moving at there own pace with very little structured on target curriculum. equals Lazy learners! No transitioning program from there school to a main stream or even private school. No accreditation! Be warned there talk is good, like most parents your emotions are high dont let your feeling cloud your parenting instinct ! Ask lots of questions look at tons of schools dont settle ! your the best advocate for you r child dont let anyone make you feel any different!

There is no doubt SOSA is an excellent school with excellent certified teachers who genuinely care about their students success. I was a teacher at this school a few years ago and personally experienced the hard work and dedication from the staff. If your child is underserved and in need of a new way of learning (multisensory), give them a call. They will go that extra mile for your child. They also offer tutoring after school through The Reading Station. You wont be disappointed.

Our son has severe dyslexia and great difficulties with mathematics. In kindergarten he was unable to say or write the alphabet. He couldnt count or write his numbers one through ten. We knew we needed help but didnt know which school would be the best placement. He floundered for another year in public school before we found SOSA by chance. We were referred to Sea of Strengths in LWR by a his speechtherapist. Our son has made steady progress and currently performing at near gradelevel in reading and math. If your child is struggling dont wait and hope it improves with time. Call Sea of Strengths or their tutoring center The Reading Station and ask to talk with a teacher or parent.

This is definitely a five star school! The Sea Of Strengths Academy helps students with learning disabilities, such as dyslexia, succeed in school every day.The curriculum is top notch, using multi-sensory teaching strategies. Students are taught at their level, and must show mastery before moving on to new skills. This really helps kids to build their base skills in reading, math, and writing. The teachers are very dedicated and work hard each day. They are always willing to go the extra mile for students, and work closely with parents. This communication gives the school a “homey” feel. I am proud to call these teachers my colleagues. Our students have done very well, and we have the test scores to prove it! We are results driven, and mark success through multiple methods including tests, portfolios, and informal assessments. One of the things that changes right away for our students is that they have a real sense of community. Many times our students felt as if they were the only one struggling in reading or math. They saw their classmates excel, while they struggled. The Sea Of Strengths Academy is a safe place, where students encourage each other to succeed. Students go from hiding in the back of the class to becoming student of the week. It is a wonderful transition and one that I enjoy watching each year.I encourage you to check out this school for yourself and see what it is really about. Sit in on the classes and see for yourself the great things that happen every day.
