My kids graduated from OLL in 2012 and then my second one in 2018. It became our home and we still have strong connections to OLL!

There are so many great things to say about this school, Its hard to know where to start. First off, as a parent,  I love the community associated with the school. I went to a small school growing up, everyone knew who everyone was and looked out for one another. OLL has this same quality and it can be seen in the staff, the parents, and amazingly the students as well. One great example that comes to mind is when my son transferred to OLL from his school in L.A. His classmates got his information, and over the summer offered to take him out to lunch to welcome him to the school.  This made a huge impression on both my son and me. Even though this was outside of school, this really speaks to the character of the people associated with the OLL. Regarding education. my daughter tested a little low in reading comprehension when she transferred into the first grade. The school worked with her (and others that struggled) during school hours and now she regularly gets top marks in reading as well as the rest of her classes. Finally, the staff. They have been nothing short of incredible during the pandemic. Seeing the chaos that my friends have had to deal with from the surrounding public schools, Im grateful that my kids are at OLL. The teachers have maintained grace under extremely challenging times while teaching remotely. They have a way of keeping kids engaged and learning while being empathetic about the challenges kids are facing during the pandemic. If you cant tell by now, I highly recommend OLL.

We adore OLL. Wise, strong, caring teachers, staff, and leadership team. Evidence-based approach to education including literacy, with reasonable, level-headed approach to testing. Overarching emphasis on student independence, mental and spiritual health, public speaking, moral reasoning, creativity. Academic environment is strong, but not super high pressure. Parent community includes a bunch of bright, engaged, down-to-earth humans who are committed to providing a warm, approachable extended family for all kids.
