This is a great place to train, especially if you are a woman. Great teachers, who create a friendly, supportive, and safe environment, while enthusiastically twisting you into a pretzel and teaching you how to do the same to others.

Growing up, Ive always wanted to try BJJ but was always intimated by the sport. As soon as I walked in, all that fear went away. Christine and Drew welcomed me to the family and Ive been hooked ever since! This School is clean and the instructors are professional! Everyone there is respectful and they push eachother to be the best that they can be! They are also women and kid friendly too! I highly recommend to any women that want to learn self defense to check out their basics class!

My home-at home. Drew & Crissy Vogel run the school with instrumental help from a couple of other black belts - Chris Tufts & Jay Yovanovich. The groups made up of a solid set of ladies and gents that train day-round, from early am to late eve, and with skills all over the spectrum from beginner to expert. Its a great place to immerse yourself in BJJ - learn, skill up, master, for self-defense, competition, and everything in between. Catch me on the mat.

Dropped in to an afternoon class today. Great environment. Very welcoming. Drilled some solid technique and got some tough rolls in, with some really nice folks. The owner, Drew and his wife were great. No drop in fee for the first visit and a free week. Will definitely be going back.

Drew and Chrissie are fantastic instructors. The instruction at Framework BJJ ensures that youll be well-versed in all of the fundamentals of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense, but because of the incredible environment that Drew and Chrissie have created, youre able to discover and refine your own game, based on what you want to do. The instruction is incredible and all of the instructors at Framework are incredibly talented, but different in their own unique way, which allows you to experience every part of BJJ from a variety of different perspectives.

Framework BJJ has become my new home in Seattle. The teachings of Drew Vogel have been wonderful. Ive lost 8 lbs since I started two months ago and I feel like my confidence has soared. As I begin to find submissions and guard-passes that fit my personal style and taste, I cant help but be amazed by how patient and supportive Drew has been. Drew stays positive and doesnt try to dominate you. His class has a tone of calmness and focus. He is meticulous and must be hard-pressed to break his breathing pattern or flowing form. For someone whom I am bigger than, he sure has a way of making me feel like the underdog! His presence is big. Stop in and take the opportunity to meet a real class act and phenomenal athlete. I have never met someone with feet as strong as this man. He uses them like hands! I hope the school is blessed beyond measure and I am thankful to be a student there.

Our family has been taking classes here since November 2018, and its the only thing weve been so consistent in 2-3 times a week! The instructors for the kids, beginners, and advanced classes are informative and kind. Fellow students are respectful and it has been an inclusive community.

I visited back in May of this year. I had emailed Drew inquiring about dropping in for an open mat and he was very welcoming. No mat fee which was also very generous. Great group of people! Everyone made an effort to introduce themselves, and I had a lot of fun with some very good and technical rolls. Will be visiting again next time I am out in Seattle! Great Jiu Jitsu community in such a great city!

I was a little nervous to go to a BJJ class without any experience but they make it really comfortable. The beginner classes are an awesome format that allows those without any idea what they are doing to learn the basics. The intermediate students still show up to some beginning classes as well so its easy to be guided through everything the first few times you go.I really like the way Drew and Chrissie run their classes in a way that all levels of students seem to appreciate and its amazing how friendly and helpful everyone is when someone new shows up. I had no clue what I was supposed to do so I literally just showed up in a pair of basketball shorts and they sorted everything out for me!

Great studio: Its a really pure place to learn, with a variety healthily competitive and/or playful people to roll with. The head instructor is incisive and insightful (also black belt), and I felt privileged to be able to pick his brain so freely since the classes are still small. His wife also instructs, and the two have this vibe of wanting to make peoples lives better and just pure love for BJJ.

Really friendly gym. I came in for open mat and rolled with a bunch of folks. Everyone was technical and controlled. Can’t ask for a better experience. They also didn’t charge me a drop in fee, which is generous.

I visited Framework BJJ at the request of a friend who trained under Drew back in Philly. The school is still fairly new, but Drew is a wonderful professor. I train at RGA in New York and am use to very high level instruction: I was thoroughly impressed by Drews technical knowledge and the core of students already built up. I find myself still using some techniques he taught me over the few days I was there even though its been months just because of their effectiveness. I will be visiting Framework whenever Im back in Seattle!

Great place to visit. I dropped in while visiting Seattle for a job interview. Professor (honorary title for black belts in BJJ) Drew was friendly and accommodating. There was another guy visiting at the same time and Prof Drew made a point of talking and training with both of us. You can tell that he loves both training and teaching. I highly recommend Framework for anyone looking to train in Capital Hill. Make sure you call / text before visiting though, the space is shared with an Aikido school and the bjj group shows up shortly before classes start.

If youre in Seattle and want to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu the way it was meant to be taught, you need to train at Framework BJJ. A lot of jiu-jitsu schools are not teaching the self-defense aspect of jiu-jitsu and are focused more on winning medals and whats trending at grappling tournaments. Drew and Chrissy are making sure their students are able to defend themselves if the unfortunate situation arises. I used to learn from Drew in Philadelphia so I knew he was an amazing instructor. He learned from Phil and Rick Migliarese who are Relson Gracie blackbelts and well-known in the Brazilian jiu-jitsu community. Phil and Rick trusted Drew to teach classes at their school in Philadelphia. During my visit to Seattle, I knew my girlfriend and I had to stop by and learn from Drew and his wife, Chrissy. Drew and Chrissy have something special going on at Framework. Their partnership creates a super friendly environment and their instruction is clear and easy to understand. They are developing some highly-skilled jiu-jitsu practitioners that started their journey at Framework, and they also have more experienced people who have made the switch to train at their school. My girlfriend and I loved this school and she told me after class that she wished Drew and Chrissy taught where we lived. We highly recommend Framework BJJ!
