I started training about a year ago after having to stop training at another school about 12 years ago due to spinal issues. I was able to come to TEAM CHIP because they let me modify my training. I’m still able to advance through my curriculum, but if it is not good for me to do, I can modify it. The leaders help you with whatever modifications need to be made based on whatever your injury is.The leadership is amazing and they care about each person who trains there. It is a family atmosphere that everyone feels when they come in the door. I’m so thankful that I get to train again and thankful for TEAM CHIP.

In 2012, the Kinsey family moved to Abilene, Texas, from Little Rock, Arkansas. Little did we know that we would quickly join the Team Chip family, and begin a journey unlike any other. Team Chip is a premier martial arts facility with wonderful and knowledgeable staff. Nearly 10 years later, my daughter earned her First Degree Black Belt and my son is on his own path to earning his Black Belt. Team Chip is more than just exercise. My kids learned what it means to persevere, be courteous, be honorable, have integrity, and just be a good human. We love living the Team Chip Life, and wouldn’t be where we are, without our Team Chip family!

Team Chip is by far the best place in the whole country. I have trained at gyms from all over and there is no comparison. The entire staff of instructors are phenomenal and incredibly knowledgeable. The programs are amazing. The little dragons program has taught my kid so much about determination, perseverance, confidence, courtesy, and respect. The instructors do a great job with keeping the children engaged and ensure they are learning the curriculum.The adults the TKD program is legendary. My wife loves it and enjoys the workout, self defense, and drive that the class motivates her to be the best.The BJJ program is amazing and it’s growing! The techniques and workouts you get every class are awesome. You learn new techniques on defense and leave the gym drenched and smiling! Being former Military this class has helped me in more ways than one. The group that trains in BJJ has a tight Brotherhood/sisterhood.All classes are welcoming and there is no ego. Everyone there wants you to become part of the family and will do whatever they can to help you. Team Chip Martial Arts is a safe, family based business with high level training in a clean , uplifting atmosphere. I highly recommend them for any age. I am 64 yrs old have been training at TCMA for almost 20 yrs and have never had an injury while training. They will design a program for any age group or physical limitations.

After high school and life events Im back about 15 years later, now Team Chip Martial Arts to get back into shape and for my oldest son to learn self-defense and confidence.Oh my gosh, the curriculum has expanded to include BJJ through Pedro Sauer, parkour, leadership team training, dedicated weapons class, and keeping a traditional martial arts feel.The instructor staff are knowledge and ready to help individuals of all levels of physical and skill grow.

My son, Ryder, has been training at Team Chip for almost a year. When l first started taking him he was unsure of himself, shy and he hadn’t really found many activities that he wanted to be a part of. He has always made good grades, but he tended to be a little too “social” when he was expected to be quiet. He would squirm and fidget when he was expected to be still. He didn’t want to go at first...he would hide his face in my leg and want to hang on to me. They had a hard time getting him to speak out and be loud and he didn’t really want to bow! Now he begs me to go to class! He walks in confidently and I’ve seen his focus improve tremendously. He has found a place where he fits in and has set huge goals for himself. His principal at school told me last week what a polite kid he is, and that he always walks right in in the mornings and looks adults in the eye and shakes their hand and speaks to them. This is huge for Ryder! In a world where raising boys can be a little scary I’m sure glad we found Team Chip!!

My Grandson was a part of the Team Chip Program when my daughter/family loved in Abilene, Texas. Phillip absolutely loved it there and he worked very hard, giving it his all towards each belt. Phillip had to work a little bit harder than others, overcoming his short stature...but Team Chip goes above and beyond, in so many ways, enabling Phillip to accomplish each task. Team Chip certainly won my heart. They are wonder, they really care!

The self defense classes are great and free too!! Loved the environment. The instructor was knowledgeable and passionate. I would highly recommmend this to anyone who wants to learn self defense. I also think this class would be great for young girls to attend as well.

My nephews started with Team Chip before I even had kids, but I knew when I did have kids I wanted them at Team Chip. The instructors at Team Chip are great at teaching respect, courtesy, perseverance, self control, and how to be intrinsically motivated. They motivate with positive attention and with setting a great example. The instructors are respectful to the kids and get their points across, teaching techniques and correcting behavior without humiliating or demeaning the kids. My son truly looks up to his teachers and is excited to go nearly everyday. I cant wait until my two-year-old and baby are old enough to start.

One of the best experiences of my life! If you want to seriously train in flexibility and elegant but powerful martial arts forms (especially leg technique), look no further! The minimum instructor level is 3rd-4th degree black belt, and there are many, many 1st and 2nd degree black belts that have been training here for years and can help you learn, in addition to a large number of new students of all ages and body types. Team Chip will absolutely help you to reach your maximum potential, not only in self-defense, but in discipline and confidence, no matter where you are in life. However, if you are only wanting to beat people up, you might look somewhere else instead. Safety, mutual respect and kindness are priorities here.

We have been part of Team Chip for about 3 years. Our son is a heart patient and we had to be selective about the sports he participated in. This has been one of the best decisions we could have made. Not only is he stronger, more flexible, and healthier, but he is confident and self-assured. Team Chip improves the WHOLE person. One of the things I most appreciate is the open communication between parents, students, and instructors. They really listen and care for each student and hold that student to a high standard.
