I love this place! I bought an electric guitar here and started taking lessons. They have such a great selection of instruments and they offer lessons on a wide range of instruments. They have a great selection of music books, too. And they are conveniently located at Colonie Center Mall, on the second floor near Macys. Lessons, then shopping! 😊

Great experience! Ordered online and my guitar was waiting for me within the hour. I could have opted for curbside pick-up, but decided to pick up my new guitar in the store, properly marked of course. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I called right after I placed my online order, then called the store, and an employee called me back momentarily to tell me that my guitar and all of my accessories were ready for pick up! And a great deal too! With an additional 10% off for Black Friday. This store is great for the experienced musician or the beginner. Highly recommended!

I traded in some instruments here and initially had an experience I was uncomfortable with after the fact. The woman who worked with me on trade in day reached out and made an effort to right the situation. I really appreciated that touch of customer service and going above and beyond to make sure I was happy when she certainly didn’t need to.

I needed a great guitar as I had to sell my last one a few years ago, and my soul was crying out for one. Lorain was so great and patient. first time i bought one over the phone, untested. Lorain was knowledgeable. Transaction was completed easily after a bump in the road with bank card, and now I have a beautiful Washburn (great tone!) Recently brought a hand crafted guitar to Hilton music to have wired, stringed, adjusted. Basically tuned. A gentleman by the name of Mike worked on it. Got it back a few days later. What a great job he did on it. Went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this establishment. Thank you Hilton and thank you Mike.

Love this store! I bought my first acoustic guitar here, and the staff is always helpful and patient. Decided to take up lessons (with Sam Piazza) and am steadily making progress. Not bad for a 60 yr, playing for the first time! Picked up an amp here a little later, same great service.After my lessons they always let me check out all the guitars on display, and will occasionally come over to ask if I want play, or get hooked into an amp, or just talk shop. Always very friendly, and zero pressure, and enjoyable to talk to. With lessons over Skype now, I miss that... plus my last time there I saw this cool looking grey acoustic... :)Im so sad that Sam took ill and can no longer teach, but I will be going back for more lessons shortly.I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this place.

My fiancée and I came to buy a digital piano. The salesman, Mark, was very personable and helpful. He had to go to the merchandise storage in the mall twice (our fault) and helped us get the large item into our car afterward and didn’t seem even the slightest annoyed by it at all.We’re very appreciative, and will for sure return!

After a disappointing visit to the store, I was blown away by the owners humility and kindness as he sought to reconcile my experience. Bob took the time to call me and then went above and beyond my expectations as he drove an hour and a half to bring the board I had been interested in purchasing to me. He accepted my current board as a partial trade in and took about an hour to work with me learning my new Roland. Bob is a terrific guy and a pleasure to work with. Im thankful for his humble service to this store.

Absolutely excellent experience purchasing my Privia PX-160 here. There was a Black Friday bundle deal on a website and Hilton Music both price matched and added in the higher quality pedals rather than what it came with. Lorraine was exceptionally helpful in picking out this purchase and I am satisfied with it six months later. They also are great about answering questions I have to this day about the piano. Great customer service with quality products!

This is a shout out for Joel at Hilton Music Center. I just got back one of two basses I was having upgraded by him and he did a phenomenal job on it. When I went to pick it up, he was right there working with me to zero in exactly what I wanted from it. Definitely money well spent. I told him that this bass was the appetizer and that I look forward to the main course when he completes upgrading my Fender American Std. P bass with the Lindy Fralin pickups I wanted installed.

Not much of a selection, mostly Dean guitars. prices are way over what they should be. a 7 string dean vendetta on amazon or at guitar center is 179.99, and at hilton music, its about 150-200 more. the ons employee was very pushy and kept standing over my shoulder while i was looking at guitars. i DO NOT recommend anyone going to this store, you are better of going to a guitar center or amazon.

The best ever

Just had the worn floyd rose vibrato, (on my old beat up 80s Kramer guitar), reset, intonation and tweeked out done by Hiltons guitar tech, Joel,. Well.......? I have to admit that I was surprised by what a nice set up he did! The floyd rose whammy bar is now sweet, sensitive and more balanced feeling. I usually set it up myself, but I was just way to busy and didnt have the large amount of time or patience required to do it this very meticulous job. Great action on the fret board too. So two thumbs up Joel and thanks for also finding those old parts needed for this restoration ...
