My family and I have been going here for a little over two years and have loved every minute of it! In my younger years I took a few different martial arts and this school is by far one of the most open, accepting, and challenging I have ever been to.Sifu works with each person individually and helps them to work within their own physical abilities and limitations while still pushing for people to excel.Originally we started because it was one of the most affordable and flexible schedules in Albuquerque and we have stayed because of the wonderful people and the challenge. It is a place that very easily becomes a second family and home.

This is a wonderful school! I was looking for a martial arts school that was friendly, challenging, and helpful; I found all three qualities here. The people here are wonderful. I started just over a year ago, and immediately everyone was very welcoming. I find the curriculum to be just the perfect amount of challenging. Youll know youre working out and improving every time you come, but at the same time, any physical limitations or disabilities are taken into account to make sure youre never given more to do than you can handle. It truly is a tailored experience and a place where I believe anyone could flourish. You should come here.

My husband and I have been at Martial Artistry for almost a year now and we absolutely love it! We are in our 20s and wanted an activity we could share while getting in some good exercise. What we found at Martial Artistry was all that and so much more. The community of students and instructors is phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and helpful. If you really want to learn Wushu, and have fun and feel encouraged along the way, this is the place. :-D. Going to Wushu is something that I look forward to every week!

Martial Artistry has been the best investment for my two sons in their Little Dragons class. We started going originally as an alternative to Occupational Therapy for my older son. We liked the school so much we enrolled our younger son once he was old enough to join the class. I look forward to the day when they graduate to the adult class and I can start attending classes with them.

A welcoming community, knowledgeable instruction, and fair pricing structure brought us here a year and half ago for my daughter. My whole family is now joining in for fitness and fun (both physical and mental, with a family discount to boot)!

I attended Martial Artistry through 2011 and 2012, and loved every minute of it. When I began training there, my flexibility and strength were severely limited and I was still struggling to recover from old injuries. The instructors and school were happy to work at my pace and accommodate my limitations. Even more impressive, though, is the way they adapted to my changing abilities. As I recovered and gained strength, the school constantly increased what it asked from me, keeping things both challenging and fun.No martial arts school is perfect for everyone. But it youre looking for a school with a strong sense of community, a fantastic curriculum that is constantly being changed and improved, and a staff that will focus on you and your unique goals, I dont think you can do much better than this one.

Martial Artistry is a wonderful Wushu School. It is better than 5 stars. At 65 with a lot of injuries, the instructor are helpful, encouraging and patient. In just 5 months I have gain more flexibility, balance and mobility than I have had in 20 years. It is great for all ages and I enjoy the different age groups in the class.

My daughter has been taking classes at Martial Artistry for almost three years. It is a very supportive environment, and we love that adults and kids train together. All of the staff are nice and really helpful. It has been a great place for her to learn martial arts in a non-competitive way.

I love Martial Artistry! Not only is it a great workout, its a great time! The school has a friendly supportive environment for all ages and for those of all abilities. I should know! I was 30 lbs heavier and much more out of shape when I started in January of 2011! Its great for families and for friends as an activity you can do together. I recommend it to everyone!

Absolutely love it. Wish I had done this years ago, but, as Ive discovered: its never too late. Sifu and the instructors are motivating, giving personalized instruction, and making it fun. Leading by example, they take great interest in the students training as well as their own. I cannot wait to see how far I can really go. I see this as a good and healthy challenge, and hopefully a lifelong practice.

I have studied under Sifu La Trans from even before she started her own school and have faithfully and gladly followed her throughout the years. Her respectful attitude, broad and deep knowledge and experience of the martial arts, strong work ethic, and wry sense of humor combine to make her an earnest, knowledgeable, capable, rigorous, dynamic, and unique teacher. Likewise, Martial Artistry is a school unlike any other. With no down time, useful and practical practice, one on one work both with instructors and Sifu La Trans herself, and careful attention to details, this school fills all the holes many schools are riddled with. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive and invites you to take risks and push yourself without fear of rejection. Whether you are young or old, athletic or just finding your inner martial artist, this school caters to all levels of ability and interest. Martial Artistry is truly a large family of those interested in the Martial Arts. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

I have studied several styles of Martial Arts. Martial Artistry is the only place I have found that I can truley see myself studying for a lifetime. Martial Artistry is also a true family environment where students can start as young as 3 years old and actively study into their 60s. I have been with the school for just under 6 years and I love it. Come visit us and see for yourself!

This school combines serious respect and dedication to the discipline of Kung Fu with a friendly, all-inclusive atmosphere. There is no upper limit to what students can learn here. Sifu Kayne is a world class martial artist with a vast knowledge of styles and forms. More importantly, Sifu and the other head instructors are experts at teaching to the strengths and abilities of each individual student. In group wushu there are students ranging in age from 9 or 10 to more seasoned students of 55+(whose exact ages we do not ask out of respect) and every age in between. There are students of every ability as well, from those for whom aerial flying kicks come easily to those who have had surgeries, injuries, or natural physical limitations. The curriculum and instruction are perfectly tailored to raise each individual to the height of their abilities without judgement or discrimination. I know personally that I have achieved a level of fitness and skill that (as an overweight previously sedentary mom in my late 30s with significant joint problems) I never would have thought possible before becoming a student here. The children’s classes (ages 4-9) are similarly diverse and accepting, with students of all backgrounds and abilities equally welcome. I have personally seen significant beneficial outcomes for kids with cognitive, speech, and/or emotional difficulties, and nearly all the kids gain significant focus and confidence. Martial Arts is, I believe, a very good activity for kids in general, but the curriculum and approach at Martial Artistry seems particularly well designed and executed to work with each individual kid’s developing physical and mental abilities.Martial Artistry also offers extremely reasonable rates without any kind of contract. Anyone is welcome to come by and observe a class to see if the school is right for you and there’s never any pressure to sign up. The first trial class you take is free, and new students get their first month of classes for $50 which includes a uniform. It’s a very, very good deal. The schedule is also very flexible, which has been key to my family’s ability to stick with it and make Kung Fu a regular, integral part of our lives. The fact that myself, my husband, and our son can all come and take classes together twice a week on whatever days we can make fit into our schedule is a HUGE plus. And hey, guys? Kung Fu at Martial Artistry is, and I can’t stress this enough, just the most fun.

Like every cliche martial arts movie, inner peace comes from studying kung fu. I began searching around and with relentless research I narrowed down my options of schools to attend to about 4 total. After trying a class at each, only one stood out for me, Martial Artistry. The classes were very well planned out. The instructors helpful and friendly, and the general feel of the school is literally unforgettable. I paid tuition with my next paycheck and began taking classes as often as I could. Which ended up being every day of the week sometimes. Another thing I love about my school and Sifu in general is the constant support and help from everyone.I highly recommend coming to this school if you have even an inkling of curiosity in martial arts. Hands down best decision ive made

My name is Yan Qiu, I am Chinese. I enjoyed the Martial Artistry School, I think this school is the best, it has a very good environment, the people are very nice to each other, we are just like a big family. The school teaching style is very similar to the Chinese WuShu, I really enjoyed teaching and taking classes as well. I was in the schools training for ten years.

Update: March 8, 2019I have now been studying Kung Fu at Martial Artistry for 12 years and my daughter is at 9 years. We still thoroughly enjoy the school, the students & instructors, and the curriculum. Sifu continues to make changes to improve the school and keep the classes interesting and high energy. The students here feel like a close knit community that supports its members and welcomes people of all backgrounds. Our Lunar new year celebration has been absolutely amazing the last few years as Sifu has started training the instructors with new material about a year in advance. I highly recommend you come and take a free class to evaluate it yourself.2012: I have studied at Martial Artistry for about five years now and my daughter, 8, has studied here for about two years. We love it! I really like the in-class practice of our basics and the very high standards for advancement. The forms are very demanding and lots of fun! The Little Dragons program is high energy and focused on helping the younger kids get a grasp on the fundamentals while having lots of fun. Sifu is a wonderful coach who demands the best of what youve shown her every time you go before her to work on forms and basics. The students are a great mix of ages and martial arts backgrounds and the vibe is up-beat, funny, and serious all at the same time. There are no contracts either! We pay month to month and I cant emphasize enough what a big deal this is. When you dont lock people into a contract, you have to provide compelling reasons to stay, which Sifu does in spades! I really look forward to my classes and I am proud to be associated with Martial Artistry. You should come check us out!

Just over a year ago, I started searching for a kung fu school in Albuquerque. I had always wanted to learn Chinese martial arts, but it wasnt until then that I found the time and means to do so. I searched the web for a kung fu school and one of the results was a video of one of Martial Artistrys performances from a long time ago. The fact that the school has a perfect five-star rating on Google Reviews also caught my eye, so I visited the website for more information and right away I was blown away at how in-depth the site was. I could get into details on how great the site is, but you can check it out and see for yourself. Other schools sites pale by comparison because they dont have nearly as much content--some dont even list the price of tuition, which is a major inconvenience to say the least. Another thing that makes Martial Artistry stick out--and this was a major factor for me in deciding to join--was that it allows you to come on any two days of the week that fit into your schedule. I literally have encountered no other school that does this, and I think it is very considerate. The atmosphere in Martial Artistry is wonderful. The instructors are kind, humorous, and helpful, and other fellow students are supportive of each other. The school itself is huge in terms of space, which allows students to work on their individual forms and techniques with little to no risk of accidentally hitting others. Shifu Kayne, aside from being well-versed in many styles of Chinese martial arts, is also very funny and patient with her pupils. She recognizes that everyone progresses at their individual paces and she works to accommodate that. She is also not afraid to admit when she doesnt know something, which I highly respect. Ive read others reviews on how much of a family this place feels like, and they are nothing short of true. Within months, I began to develop a sense of camaraderie with the instructors and fellow students, and it came naturally. The instructors are fellow students who do not get paid for their service to the school, which I think is great. Theyre doing it out of genuine interest to help the school and its students, not for a paycheck. One common criticism of Martial Artistry, mostly from other schools, is that it only teaches show fist and that the techniques are useless. I frown upon people who have to be spoon-fed everything because Martial Artistry demonstrates a very valuable lesson: If you truly want to learn something, then you must seek it yourself. If you want to learn the martial applications of the techniques taught here then you may ask Shifu Kayne or any of the instructors and they will be more than happy to show you. I will be honest (and Shifu Kayne will tell you this as well), Martial Artistry is not combat-oriented, and neither is kung fu in general. If your sole purpose in learning martial arts is to fight, then I suggest you look at an MMA gym or Krav Maga studio. But if you want to be a better person through hard work, self-strengthening and patience, then kung fu will allow you to do so. In the ten-plus years that this school has been open, it has only seen two students attain the black sash. This is because Martial Artistry, much like traditional kung fu in China, has a vast curriculum that cant be mastered in a short amount of time. It is a requirement to put forth lots of time and effort into your training here - the very definition of the term kung fu - to earn the next rank. This teaches patience and gives a true value to each new rank you earn. Compare this to the McDojos that hand out black belts within 1-2 years to people with no prior martial arts experience.Martial Artistry is a truly wonderful school that has taught me many lessons. I see the people here as family, and I see the things we learn as a lifestyle. I have been very passionate about kung fu for well over a year now, and it has no sign of dying down. Joining this school is easily my best decision last year.

My wife and I have been going to Martial Artistry for about five years now, and we absolutely love it here. The atmosphere is really enjoyable and Sifu is very understanding of all her students needs, the instructors are also very knowlegable when it comes to the understanding of the students needs. If you have littles ones age 4 to 9 the little dragon program is well controlled and your kids will have a blast, The best thing about this school is the no contracts and no testing fees, that just takes the cake for us. This is by far the best school to learn Wushu or Kung Fu in Albuquerque.
