My son is very happy to go to his class , he teaches Self respect, Self confidence, Self Improvement and above all the be kind to others. He dedicates time and knowledge to each of his students . At Silent Thunder Ive been able to achieve amazing results with his ancient meditation techniques, and have HARD EARNED each belt that Ive diligently worked for in his martial arts classes. When I win the lottery and/or make my millions, this humble dojangs future rent will never come due again.... If youre looking for a facetious pat on the back, or an easy path to black belt or enlightenment, go elsewhere. I trained for several years with Master Mokurai. I owe all of my self-confidence to him. He helped me develop patience, speed, kindness, and most importantly a relationship with the good Lord. Without attending classes three times a week for six years I wouldnt of grown into who I am today. I highly recommend training here, you wont regret it.

I went to this school many years ago. Although I was only able to attend for a short time due to moving to a different country, this masters mindset carried on for a very long time.

Not Mechanical Teaching .This is more than class . Being a single parent, the support ,discipline ,character and traits this classes and the Master have molded my son into a human being who respects me and himself showing live and respect for life mind body and spirit. I have studied internal martial arts with a couple of different teachers, outside of Silent Thunder, over the past 5 years. I can say that Master Mokurai is a good teacher, who puts a strong emphasis on self discipline and focus (two keys to a good quality of life that go largely underappreciated today). I am grateful for the pieces that I have picked up from learning at this school. As with any opportunity, go check it out for yourself if youre interested; take what works for you, and let the rest go.

My 3 boys have attended here more than a year. I honestly can say master mokurai has shaped my sons into strong minded little individuals in this short amount of time also there not getting picked on anymore behavior improved 100%. I noticed some negative reviews that are insane Im thinking its some kind of witch hunt. But yes this place is awesome my kids are doing incredible here.

I remember walking down Jackson street on my way to the bank, and finding a sign that read FREE KARATE with a phone number printed right under a white silhouette of a man performing a flying sidekick. This peaked my interest initially, seeing as I was looking to attempt training in martial arts. After some hesitation due to work complications and some discussions with a family member, I gave the class a try. On a warm, sunny afternoon, I entered the building, greeted by a man in a Taekwondo uniform. I followed along with the rest of the class for the warm up; and trained in other various exercises until I had to leave for work. On one occasion, I was able to train for the entire class; and upon finishing, was also offered a chance to meditate. It was the decision that changed my life forever. After meditating, I had a discussion with the man in the uniform, Master Mokurai. I had never met a man of power and wisdom on his level. The experience kindled within me a spark that has ignited into a raging fire, fueling my choice for every thought, word, and action I have taken ever since to this day.Silent Thunder Martial Arts and Meditation Center is a school dedicated to changing lives for the better. Every class is tailor made to accommodate and encourage students to reach their full potential. Whether you come to throw a kick, chant a song, or sit still and listen to your breath, You will steadily build within yourself a ladder reaching up towards unimaginable heights of peace, power, and bliss. On the surface, it is a school with classes to take as a hobby. When observed more closely, it is a potential portal leading to provincial paradise within the mind. You will learn to fight. I began my studies with Master Mokurai 34 years ago when I was 6. I can honestly tell you that confidence is a byproduct of the hard work, perseverance and discipline. I have attended over a dozen martial arts studios in 5 different states (WA, TX, OK, NM, and AZ) and I can tell you that this school teaches lessons (balance of mind, body, and soul) which have helped me throughout several aspects of my life, from growing up in a broken family (perserverance), 8 years in the US Army (self-discipline), 3 years in the NM State Police (humility), and now even in a career in nursing (compassion). While other schools can help you physically, I have never had a school teach me as much spiritually or mentally as this school did.It has been some time since I have attended (I attended when Master Mokurai taught at a completely different building, before moving to this location, and before he was called Master Mokurai), but even now as a 30+ year old man I still think about my time here and if I ever go back to living in NM I would attend this school over any other. It saddens me when someone might have had a negative experience, they strive to make several negative reviews to impact this schools livelihood, and discredit what it has meant to so many students.I sincerely hope anyone who is reading these bad reviews will please take a second look, and consider being your own judge by trying it out for yourself.

Silent Thunder is the Best Old school Traditional Tae Kwon Do instruction you can get. Traditional floors, traditional forms, go back to the real art of martial arts. I recommend this school for those in search of knowledge and strength.

I am so thankful for finding slient thunder. My son has ADHD and Sensory disorder. My son has made drastic improvements in his behavior. Slient thunder takes the heart of Taekwondo and brings it to life. I highly recommend this dojo.

Master David Meggs is the most talented and knowledgeable H2H instructor I’ve ever trained with. He is unequivocally the toughest man I’ve ever sparred.In the 1980s he shaped me from a scrawny paste eating greasy haired pimple faced wimp into a someone capable and willing to lead men into battle. As a Combat Veteran (AFG) and former special operations officer; I frequently drew on the many lessons from the dojang.How can one apply non-violence for conflict resolution? Will a cup of tea provide a more robust solution than an open hand? Will good humor and a hearty laugh dispell mounting anger? In the rare instances that I had to use my skills; it was done judiciously and surgically so as to inflict minimal harm on my opponent while neutralizing the threat. During those moments TKD-Hapkido saved my life and the the lives of others.For those willing to submit to the path of foot and hand fighting you will find no more authentic place. For those insincere folks seeking pretty belts and unicorn horns: train elsewhere.RLTW

I attended several Tae Kwon Do and Qi Gong classes at Silent Thunder over the course of a few months last Summer and to this day I still apply excercises and teachings that I learned from Master Mokurai. Although I became too busy to attend classes frequently, I learned a lot about myself and my relationship with God. With being a new father and working 2 jobs I can say life gets stressful - but I always make sure to dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to doing Qi Gong and meditating in the same way that Mokurai taught me. It makes all the difference and is my secret weapon for dealing with high levels of stress.

Master mokurai is a perfect candidate for teaching. His entire goal is to train his students physically and mentally to see through themselves and their own problems causes. His teaching methods are for those that intend to undergo total transformation of self to disrupt the corrupt enviroment and all unessisary distractions that people fall victim to WILLINGLY. These classes will make you understand yourself to the point where you can see others arrogance and ignorance and the fact that most peoples problems are self caused. Everyone has an opinion but they are usually biased for self comfort instead of end goal. The wise were once young and reckless too and they are aware that if you take short cuts you get cut short in the end. If you are a parent then Im guessing you are going to raise your kids with the same beliefs and opinions as yourself, so dont be mad when your kid hears anothers opinion. Instead of seeking vengeance maybe provide a valid, conversation with your child and let them choose what they think is right. If you dont your kids will be raised to destroy those who have different opinions and thats not what master mokurai wants at all. Master mokurai is a very humble man who speaks his truth and Ive noticed many people run from the truth to live life with ease and comfort.I would rather be a warrior in a garden than a Gardner in a war.

Ive been training at Silent Thunder Dojo for about 3 years and Im currently a black belt candidate under the harsh scrutiny of the head instructor Master Mokurai. Ever since my first free month at Silent Thunder Ive missed less classes than I have fingers. Because of the all encompassing training style at Silent Thunder, even when life gets hard and I was sore, injured, tired and sick I still come to every class.

If you want to go to a place where hatred and judgement is taught this is the place.
