I’ve been training here for 5 years now and love it! The teachers are passionate and excellent; they are committed to the growth of their students and the community. And the students are helpful and great, bringing a broad range of experience to the training and community. I would definitely recommend training here!

A strong community is what you will find as you go through the door of this traditional Japanese aikido dojo. Focused kids classes and intense adult programs await those that wish to start a journey that can last a life time. Nothing that is worthwhile is easy, anything that has substance takes what you give andpays it back in kind if you are willing to work. At first take cautious steps, see what its about, if its for you. After you start to get the hang of a back fall go back for more and more as the challenges come see if they shape you, if they shake you. Find out about you. Enter through that door, say hello. Say good bye. Say see you next week. I started training aikido at UNM in the fall of 2011. I joined Aikido of Albuquerque in spring 2012. Training at Aikido of Albuquerque has benefited me in numerous ways. It has also allowed me to benefit others in ways I hadnt thought of or would have tried prior. I could lift weights or run around my neighborhood and just sweat. But I would rather train at Aikido of Albuquerque and know my sweat means something more.-James Medlicott
