The practice is quite unlike my previous yoga. It is very much targeted to allowing your spirit to shine into and through the physical body. Some of the techniques simply must be experienced to understand. Thinking of a thing does not convey what a doing of the thing can, so go and experience!

The online classes and in-studio training are all terrific. I received true self for body and soul. Things that have happened to me is my mom was very sick and me learning methods from instructor Hongik I shared them with my mother. She gets BETTER! Also as for me I am able to feel my chakras much much better that when i stated a year ago. More flexible and much calmer.. Very thankful for Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi Albuquerque. Highly recommend.

Body and Brain training has been an incredible experience. I have taken a few classes and have worked one on one with Master Hongik. I cannot say enough how this training has changed my perception for the better with releasing stress and anxiety. The classes and teachings empower you, calm you, and most importantly center your mind. I feel less conflict with others and find more enjoyment in my life. After every single class, I feel happy, energised, and they are so much fun! I am looking forward to taking more classes and to continue to grow.

I have been attending Tai Chi classes for the past 3 months and I always feel relaxed and calm after a long day at the office. I am always glad I went to class, even with a full schedule. The teacher Kathy is very easy-going, sweet and kind. And the classes bring my mind and body at ease. I am grateful there is a center to attend Tai Chi and Yoga to take better care of my mind and body and feel good about myself and my life.

I have only been a member since mid May, but I already have experienced a transformation; physically, mentally and emotionally. I have dropped about 10 lbs. I have better focus and concentration. Thankfully, I am less anxious and I am better equipped to handle stress. I enjoy the Yoga and Tai chi Classes as well as the instructors. The workshops and private healing sessions are extremely beneficial. I am glad I embarked on this journey.

I came here looking to revitalize my body and achieve my 2018 goal of elevated health and vitality, and it has already made me feel more alive in my skin. Everyone who I encounter here, whether they be other students or the trainers have been kind and welcoming. I do like that there are people of all ages and walks of like. Also, although the approaches may be different from what you may be used to, they have helped me to gain a stronger kynesthetic awareness with my body. I prefer to evaluate experiences based on the results achieved, and while I know that progress (especially with your own physical health) can be slow, I do feel things moving in the right direction. I will continue evaluating my results as I progress throughout the year. However, I would recommend it if you are looking for something to help you connect better with yourself and re-energize your overall health.

I’ve been participating in the Albuquerque Body and Brain yoga and taichi for 8 months now and have been very pleased with the results after each class. How I deal with my emotions are more on the positive side . It does not take me long to accept the fact that it is part of my existence and I must move on with a good outlook on whatever is presented to me on a daily. It has been a wonderful experience being part of an extended family. The folks at body and brain yoga know what they are doing! Since I joined a year ago my blood presure has gone down 15 points. I use to have pain all the time 10 to 20 every day! Now it is a manageable 5 to 7. And I feel great! You have to give them a try. Come on by! Have fun! Tony M.

We recently moved back to Albuquerque and within weeks found this center. Many times when starting a new school one can feel very intimated or find difficulty accessing the instructor but at Body and Brain Yoga my husband and I have really felt welcomed and at home with all the students in various classes and by all instructors. We have also attended a special intensive weekend workshop that was a wonderful healing experience. I am experiencing HUGE results in a very short time. I encourage anyone regardless of age or health status to try this school and learn how to heal your body and feel AMAZING! Master Hongik and Master Kathy are very knowledgeable and kind. They both go the extra mile to ensure all students questions are answered and provide in depth guidance.

I really like the type of yoga at the Body & Brain center. To me it is fun, challenging -but not impossible to do, stress relieving, and relaxing. My flexibility has improved quite a bit. I feel better in my daily life and more happy in general. One of the ideas that Ive taken from this yoga is that you can choose to be happy.

Friendly and professional staff. The exercises are good. It is not just moving your body or doing poses. I like the fact that it is fun but also mindful. It helps you to connect your mind to body. This place is amazing. Everyone knows that yoga is good for you, but many Americans find the concept of yoga a little intimidating. (Balancing your whole body on your elbows? Really?) However, B&B Yoga is extremely approachable because it’s primarily focused on balancing energy—taking all of our busy thoughts (worries, stresses), and converting that excess mental energy into focused physical energy—that way your body gets a boost, and your brain calms and focuses. For that reason, it’s awesome for people of all activity levels. I attended one class that included both an iron man triathlete and an elderly woman recovering from hip surgery, and both of them both enjoyed the class and benefitted from it.The beginning of each class starts with gentle stretching, followed by exercises designed to maximize your joint flexibility and improve the flow of energy through your body, then it concludes with meditation exercises that help you relax and dramatically reduce stress. Some of the exercises include tapping on the body (which, in Western medicine terms, increases the flow of blood and lymph; in Eastern medicine terms it opens up energy channels). It’s a brilliant practice for people who have chronic injuries because it activates the body’s natural healing resources, and stimulates the body’s production of serotonin and dopamine.I was really ill when I started taking classes three months ago, and now Im healthier, stronger, more flexible, and more balanced.

I have been practicing this yoga for over 5 years. It is really amazing for my health. I have always had a slight heart murmur. During my last check up my Doctor could hardly even hear it. I feel that it is the strength gained from this practice that is the reason for this improvement.This is like no other yoga I have ever taken. A lot of tapping and vibration training get the energy circulating strongly through the body. The instructors are kind and generous with their guidance too.

Recent great news ! My diabetes is getting a lot better since I came here almost 10 months ago. My blood sugar was 160 and A1C was 8. 3 months ago, my blood sugar dropped to 103 and A1C became 7! Ye! My flexibilty gets better and sleeping better. I can now control my blood pressure better. Much calmer. No constipation anymore. Thank you. A year ago my oxygen levels dropped to 74% which in turn put me on oxygen 24/7. I started taking classes along with losing weight and am pleased to say that my doctor has me only using oxygen at work or if I am walking a lot and at night. Thanks Brain and Body you have been a blessing to me.

I started this practice a few years ago. Ive had digestive issues for many years. Through this practice I am able to connect my mind and body that helped me to overcome (with diet changes) my issues. My first intro session with Master Hongik exceeded my expectations! I was in a really vulnerable place when I came in and I felt much lighter and clearer after just a few exercises in 1 hour. I have been doing classes online classes with Albuquerque Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi since the COVID-19 restrictions. I really like that they offer this option. This studio is wonderful, a great place to begin or continue one’s yoga practice. I was a bit hesitant at first, as I have joined yoga studios in the past whose staffs didn’t seem “in tune” with the needs of the students, but that is certainly not the case here. The classes are (for lack of a better term) “non threatening” and offer a variety of activities, from concentrated stretching to targeted core work. All of the instructors are warm and supportive, always encouraging students no matter their experience level. One thing I really appreciate is that the instructors and director, Master Hong-Ik, are all women and this creates an atmosphere that suits me particularly well. I am very excited to have found this studio and look forward to the progression of my yoga practice under the tutelage of its caring staff.

Im visiting from Phoenix and wanted to take a yoga class. Although Ive taken yoga for years from many instructors, Ive never experienced a basic yoga class quite like this.After filling out intake paperwork, I was asked to watch 2 videos- one on the hot/cold flow of the body and one on belly button healing. Both were very strange to me and made me late to class. I didnt realize until I walked in that there were no yoga mats (the floor was squishy and smooth: everyone except me had socks) and each person had a belly button healing stick/wand.We did some light stretching along with counting (each person has to take a turn counting and I wasnt prepared for that). Theres really not an option to do your own practice if dont want to push a stick into your belly button repeatedly. I did try it for a while, but it was uncomfortable.In the middle of the class we did what felt like corpse pose, but since I wasnt getting much by way of stretching or strength, I left halfway through.Im thrilled that so many people locally enjoy this yoga studio, but Im posting this review because I would have loved a little more info before I attended.

My experience at Dahn Yoga has been very good.They offer exercises that anyone can follow but they also intensify the same exercise so that it serves the newest participant as well as the more experienced participant. They have a tea ceremony at the end of the class that makes me feel very centered when I leave. The instructors as well as the people that attend classes smile alot. My involvement started with a couple books and the promise of a gift certificate to Dahn Yoga. I joined before the gift certificate arrived, and it has been the best decision of my life!I started attending the 7:00AM class before work, and started smiling on my drive to work! I felt energized, with a much brighter outlook on the day. I didnt realize before that pain could be as simple as areas of blocked energy. Simple stretches and movements that create a little vibration in your body can open up those energy meridians and give relief for little aches and pains.Im much stronger and flexible, with a new awareness about my body and the awesome energy within and surrounding all of us.
