Hi all,My daughter and my son go to Mountain Eagle Karate Academy for couple months. My kids love to go to classes. Sensei Anna and Renshei Mark, they are remarkable people.My kids classes mostly with Sensei Anna so they learn a lot from her. Kids learn a lot in this academy like; respect each other, good manners, self-discipline... We are like a family in there.Thank you so much for all your efforts.

Amazing teachers who are so great at building each of my children up and focusing on their strengths. I have 5 children in their classes and am very satisfied with how great they treat us and how well they communicate. I highly recommend this karate dojo!

Mountain Eagle Karate Academy is an incredible Dojo! I love the way they teach their students self discipline, respect, and mind/body control through life skills and teach karate skills in a way even the youngest kids can get involved! We looked at five or six different martial arts schools when choosing a dojo for our son. Mark and Anna were clearly the best! Our son has studied with them since 2007. We have never regretted our decision. They have a truly amazing program for kids, teens, and adults. They are inspiring martial artists as well as excellent and caring instructors. They want you to learn and improve and enjoy yourself as you do so.

The environment is warm and welcoming! My son looks forward to every class. We just moved here from Tucson and it’s been a great way to meet other parents. Also helps at home when it comes to self discipline,very rewarding in return for him. I’d highly recommend to anyone!

Wish this Star system could go off the grid. Because could we ALL agree this is one of the BEST FAMILIES to be with in N.M. Albq. Since our daughter has started her classes she has taught US that she is dedicated to learn and do her best not just towards what she is learning there but to apply it to her life. We started our son at MEKA after they came to his school for a month long trial. They teach the kids safety, respect and good sportsmanship along with other important aspects that kids need to know as they grow up. They are very patient with all the different learning styles and personalities. The kids are always learning even when they think it’s just a fun day.

Martial Arts promotes character in equal measure to physical strength and skill. The instructors deeply appreciate this needed balance, and teach from the heart. Children are nurtured, loved and challenged to do their best. Renchi Mark and Sensei Anna are excellent role models and definitely the type of people I hope my sons will look up to.

Mountain Eagle Karate Academy has changed my life. We enrolled my son when he was 8 years old. I would go to classes and watch, and thought it looked like a lot of fun. I knew they offered adult classes, but at the time I was 43 years old, weighed 255 lbs., and was really out of shape. My wife talked me into giving it a try, and I couldn’t be happier that I did. I found the owners/instructors, Mark and Anna Gorman, to be great teachers and amazing people, fell in love with karate, and was welcomed into a wonderful community. Over the years I lost over 80 pounds, made lots of new friends, competed in many tournaments (even winning first place in Nationals!), and earned my Shodan (first degree black belt). I achieved more than I ever thought possible, did it all with my son, and we have had a great time doing it. Now I have the honor of helping others follow the path that I traveled, and that is one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. If you are considering karate classes for your child or yourself, Mountain Eagle is a great place to do it!

This was one of the best decisions we made this summer. We found an ad on Facebook for MEKA and wanting to keep my daughter active during the summer, we gave them a chance. My daughter HATES exercise of any kind. Yet, she absolutely fell in love with Karate from day one. Everyone has been so kind, helpful, welcoming, and helpful from the start. She cant wait to earn her next belt. Thanks again for everything!!

My daughter and I both train at Mountain Eagle, and the instructors, classes, and culture are excellent. They are particularly adept at meeting students at their level, never overwhelming the student while still pushing for excellence and progress.

Words cant describe how wonderful this place is. I have been at this dojo for almost ten years and MEKA is always pushing me to be better and has given me confidence I can take into my everyday life . No class is the same and I am always learning new material. The people here are always supportive and welcoming. I am so thankful for this amazing karate family.

MEKA is really the best thing we have done for our kids. Not only are they learning the amazing art of karate by the best instructors, but they are learning responsibility, discipline, confidence, respect and life skills. The kids are always encouraged and never made to feel like they are not worthy. I am very pleased with everything about this dojo and those that are part of it. Just wish I had more time to take classes too!

Great place for our boys to train in Karate. They work well with children and also teach the kids to have self discipline, be respectful, be safe, and how to protect themselves.

Their Kids karate program is outstanding. Our 2nd grader son loves Mountain Eagle Karate Academy. Hes been going since early Fall 2018. Both Sensei Anna and Sensei Mark have had awesome patience and run their classes with excellence, fun and excitement in mind. 5 Stars is not enough; highly recommended.

I called to get information and Sensi Ana was really helpful. I told her I would be there Monday to try out a free class and she remembered my name and my sons name.Once I got there I felt welcomed and Sensi Ana took time to trach my son a few moves.My son got his uniform the same day except his belt. He had to earn it which he did. They are teaching him to focus his ears, his mind and not to be tricked. Life lessons that will help him be a better person. He is always really exited to go to class and he comes out with a smile on his face. We love it.

This place is amazing! Sensei Ana is the nicest person and is great with the kids, along with all the other senseis there. My daughter absolutely loves going to karate. She is learning so much and its teaching her to be more independent. I would recommend this place to anyone! We love mountian eagle karate!!!

Its been awesome to watch my daughters confidence and self discipline grow. We love the instructors and the environment they have created. The price and practice times are very comfortable. Its hard to find the words to describe such a wonderful program. When Covid came at our community, and world, it challenged many of us with a number of different issues. Renchi Mark and Sensei Anna demonstrated exactly what they teach. They adopted a new dojo for us and our children at a nearby park and always kept the health/safety of our children and families a priority. As the seasons changed, days became colder and shorter. Once again, they adapted there program to smaller class sizes to once again keep everyone safe. Throughout all of this time they provided several zoom classes for those who could not attend or felt more comfortable at home. During this past year, not only have they taught our children valuable skills, they taught me and anyone else observing there perseverance and commitment that we can rise above the hurdles we face. Mountain Eagle Karate Academy is a Martial Arts Academy with professional, proven instructors. Sensei Anna and the others teach each students the skills necessary for self-defense and tournament performance and fun. The Academy creates a positive enforcement attitude the students like. They make it fun, they take the time to teach them as individuals and as a class. My Grandson Marcos has grown as a person and he exudes confidence. The discipline and the teachings carry over after class at school and at home. His skills have greatly improved and he loves class, he has set goals for the future and he will get his Black Belt thanks to Sensei Anna Gorman and the other instructors.Thank you MEKA you are awesome !!!

We love Mountain eagle karate academy!! My daughter is very shy and slowly but surely in the few months she has been apart of the meka family she has been opening up a little more. Every time I walk in the door I feel welcomed and I enjoy seeing sensei Anna and sensei Mark. Teaching skills in this dojo is amazing and the respect the kids have for each other is phenomenal!!

I cant say enough good things about Mountain Eagle Karate!! My son has been attending for the last 3 years and he has gained not only karate skills but also life skills that translate to everything he does. There really is an amazing sense of family at the dojo and all ages and skill levels can feel included in this family. There are numerous classes involved for various age and skill groups and rotate between karate basics, sparring, jiu jitsu, weapons, kata, etc. The instruction from owners Mark and Anna is first rate and there are numerous others that assist in training as well. So glad we found this karate school, thanks Meka!

This Karate school is one of the first for my daughter. She wanted to try out Karate in late October. While she was at school I was surfing Facebook and found an advertisement for this dojo. I think it was fate. Im so comfortable here when I watch my daughter practice Karate. Sensei Anna is great with all the kids. She is very patient. I highly recommend this dojo. I dont think we have any reason to go anywhere eles.

A great dojo for anyone- MEKA has fantastic leaders and fantastic programs for people of all ages. Our son has been going for about a year and has advanced, recently switching to a more advanced program. The Sensei’s are kind and the kind of leaders that encourage growth and development on a personal level. My son is a self starter and self disciplined after having been a student at MEKA. They teach self discipline and personal responsibility, which is great for children. My kid is a different kid because of MEKA. I’d highly recommend them!!

I love Meka so much I have been in karate for almost 7 years and it has teached me a lot about being for confident in public speaking and other things! It also has teached me how to defend my self in really bad situations,and all the senseis there are so sweet and very nice to everyone!!❤️ I am so thankful for the senseis there and what I have learned during the time I have been there!❤️

My child was wanting to go to karate and we were struggling trying to find a family oriented, friendly, flexible, and affordable place to take him. Sensei Anna and Renshi Mark were so inviting and friendly, to my family and child, that we ended up choosing this dojo where he can learn and grow. My child has learned self discipline, respect, and so much more. They always enforce postitive correction. For example, love how when your child is learning something new, but not doing it the proper movements, they tell him great job and then Actually physically show/teach the proper way. The instructors are so friendly and very flexible. This is a wonderful place to take your child/children if youre wanting to join a wonderful karate team. You can really depend on them!!
