Well this school is a very educated first of all and its not ghetto its just a little old. I would send my child here anytime its a great school. for the people who said its a bad school its great. the teachers are nice except for one 7th grade language art teacher i shall not say any names. overly all its a great school

This schools okay it’s just that the teachers don’t bother helping your kids learn. They just tell us what to do but when we’re confused they don’t bother having us learn. And the one thing I really HATE about this school is that the dress code is so unfair. I am a student at Hoover and I wore high waisted jeans and a shirt that didn’t show any of my stomach, and I got in trouble for that. While there are multiple other girls who get away for wearing spandexs to school. The teachers don’t call them out for it but I get in trouble for not showing anything. It seems like all the girls who play soccer get away with whatever. Not sure why but me and my other friends get in trouble for doing nothing. And the guys at the school take off their shirts and don’t get in trouble. Or sometimes the guys wear jeans with huge holes but don’t get in trouble for it. And it’s currently May and I won’t be able to wear shorts because they’re above my fingertips. That’s a stupid rule if I want to buy shorts that are in the dress code my shorts would have to be almost to my knees. At that point they’re not shorts. It’s summer I should be allowed to wear shorts because I can’t wear jeans and leggings everyday. But somehow these other girls can wear shorts that go all the way up to their butt cheeks and not get in trouble. Why is that?

Great school, couldnt ask for a better middle school for my son. And Im planning on sending my other 3 kids to Hoover. Thank you to all the teachers and staff, for doing an outstanding job.

Good school the reason is they helped a lot one time and gave me supplies. The teachers are very good and try their best to make this school a better place.

My wife went to drop off our daughters viola this morning, becase she forgot it. The person at the front desk was rude and condisending to her when she offered to take it to our daughter, and she replied no. Not no that is not allowed for the satiety of the children. This school has changed so much since I went there. I was excided for my daughter to go there but now I wonder if something happens to her will I even be able to get to her to help.

The school is just fine. Its not great and very low on money. A bunch of teachers have left in the past two years and the school needs updating and cleaning...

Hoover is a great place for education, they have great teachers, and a very good principal. Hoover is NOT ghetto and the school does all it can to prevent fights. Go Hawks!

The teachers were terrible with some exceptions, they were not helpful again with some exceptions. The school was great with Mr. Chacho but then once Mr. Abney became principal the school went to rock bottom and a handful of teachers left because of him. All the kids stole stuff sold drugs during class and did them at lunch. And the teachers would do nothing about it. Everyone was rude and always tried to pick fights with every one and were very distracting. Teachers would shop on their phones and if you would ask questions they would say figure it out or get away from me. So Hoover is the most uncomfortable and dirty school I have been to.

Great school in 6th grade but Mr. Abney came and messed everything up some teachers are just plain old mean i wasnt even talking and the teacher yelled at me even though it was a kid all the way across the room. when Mr. Abney came all the great teachers left and all the mean teachers were all that was left. They always messed up my schedule for the first 2 years because i was supposed to be in special ed but they put me in all regular ed wich sucked and had to get switched but i really loved the special ed department overall great teachers. But therr was one teacher in 7th grade who grabbed my hood because i was oaying attention and pulled it back and it left a mark on my neck. I told my parents about and they brought to the principal and Mr. Abney said i was lying. Also the band and all the other music classes were great. i hope the new principle will be better next year but im going to eldorado. I hope hoover gets better and gets better teachers.

I love this school I go there Im in 7th grade and I went there wen I was in 6th grade they made my 6th grade year amazing

The ladies in the office and teachers were all very good to my kids. My daughter didnt want to leave HOWEVER... My older daughter started getting bullied. I brought this to the attention of ROBERT ABNEY and he proceeded to blame my child and let me know she was a liar. The bullying continued to worsen. I kept attempting to get it resolved because it was getting dangerous. He and MR. WILTAMUTH interrogated her with the same question and told her not to be so sensitive Im am VERY UPSET. They were extreamly unprofessional. ROBERT ABNEY lied to me and didnt contact these childrens parents AT ALL. I had to transfer her to another school because they would not help her. ROBERT ABNEY IS THE MOST ARROGANT PRINCIPAL ive ever had the displeasure of meeting. He spoke down to me from the start. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL if you want leader watching over your children...UNDERFUNDED AND ROBERT ABABNEY SEEMS TO CARE MORE ABOUT THE TEAM HES COACHING OFF CAMPUS, THAN THE SAFETY OF OUR KIDS!!!

I dont like this school however theres nice teachers like mrs.stang and much more but mr.willtimuath is like a layer to me always backs me up still hate it tho

The school is amazing the 7th grade normal language arts teacher is not fare and gives my students a D for another teacher loosing her agenda but the school is a very good school

Most disrespectful principal ive ever met. She is quick to label students as trouble makers. She is rude. She doesnt allow one to finish sentances. Wont be happy sending another child there.

They are very behind in Education. The teachers dont really teach their subjects good. There is alot of Cyber bullying. The teachers or anyone dosent really help. There are alot I mean alot of fights

I really liked this school when I went there (which was only for 6th grade) however, I didnt really like the principal.
