Been studying off and on with Ian for over a decade. Great learning experience.Ive come so far and still have so far to go. Luckily Ian is a master.

I really enjoy taking Ukulele lessons at Sawmill School of Music. I picked up the Ukulele about a year ago and started one-on-one lessons, with Ian, about a month later. His instruction allows me to progress so much faster than I ever could on my own. Chord melody, music theory, fingerpicking, and even strumming and singing are just a few of the things we continue to work on during our lessons. Strumming and singing is not a skill for which I naturally excel, and Ian helped me brave my initial reservations about singing. It is difficult, and I have a long way to go, but the experience is very rewarding. Initially the lessons were held inside, but at the beginning of COVID everything went virtual. Recently, we have transitioned to social distanced, masked, outdoor lessons. Masks make singing a more difficult, but I am glad we take all the precautions that we do. I am not sure how many different instruments he teaches, but based on my experience learning the Ukulele, it would be worth it. So why did I write this review? Today, I came home after a great lessson, and I was feeling thankful. So, I figured writing a review would give me one more way to thank you to Ian for helping me learn to play the Ukulele, and making the experience so great.
